@legomaniac1027 Beethoven started to lose his hearing during 1796. No one knows the exact cause of his deafness. However, it is know that he did start to lose his hearing after a severe case of tinnitus.

Beethovens region is piano not dj decks if he was alive he would never make that remix a No1 I'm not saying the remix was crap I'm just saying you stole a song of the best pianoist and threw a few beats into it
@liamx102 +Sigh+ Please read the damn description next time; before you post a comment... First of all, I didn't make this remix; second, how do you know? Did you personally know Beethoven? I highly doubt it... It's amazing how people claim to know a person who has been dead over two hundred years... We never will know if he would have remixed his own songs and turned into a Dj, if he were here... Just as you say it's highly improbable it's also equally probable...
@liamx102 given the time he grew up its obvious he would not be used to this type of music. however... if he were born modern day, there is no telling what type of music he would have enjoyed. You just say that because you know he was a man who came from classical background that if he were around today he would never remix his songs. its highly presumptious of you and next time you say something like this you have to think of all possibilities..
Yeah DJ's are composers, thats what we do we orchastrate sounds together to make them sounds abstract and some what interesting, I'm a huge classical fan This is my favorite song the Moonlight Sonata.
Composers? Remixing a song could be defined as 'producing' the music, but not 'composing' ? Composing is mainly the melody/chords. Even adding other arrangements (other bassline for example) would not be composing, but arranging...So personally I would not define DJ's as modern day's composers. They do quite often compose songs, but they are overal more simple and catchy tunes instead of the more complicated stuff like these classical pieces. However, I'm a huge fan of techo-classical pieces
I agree with some of what you stated, but I do disagree with the rest. Trance/Techno songs can be extremely complex far more than classical pieces, the Dj's use thousands of different sound waves, and euphoric melodies to construct, arrange, or compose a song. Building the perfect song may take them hours, weeks, or even months. So I do believe that they do compose pieces far more complex in that matter.
Well if you've heard those pieces, I'd love to hear them . with complex i mostly mean complex chord structures containing many differerent chords from different scales, but still all fitting into what most call 'music theory'. For example there is IDM (intelligent dance music) which more or less uses random tones that don't fit in the scales, but don't transition logically to them. Those do not really form complex music, more like 'random' music. Of course this is just "western" music theory
Also isn't arranging a form of composing, so therefore wouldn't you say they're both. Isn't the full definition of compose, to construct or build an object with many smaller fragments to ultimately get the final solution. In this occasion it being a song, although they do place many arrangements they still "compose" or "arrange" them into forming the final masterpiece. For that reason I do believe they are a form of modern-day composers.
About composing and arranging: Most covers of songs actually have other arrangements. However, the money for the composition still goes to the original composer because mostly the melody and hormonics are what are valued most in "composing". My dad composed a song in the 70's and they've made quite some covers from it which hardly sound like it, but he still earns the money from the composition part of every record, because..well it's his composition (although arranged differently)
I do however agree on the 'sound' part. Producers these days have more sounds aviable and can actually create sounds which was not done in the early days of music (not so much possible either).
A few days ago I let a friend hear one of my favorite classical-to-trance pieces called 'sensation white anthem 2003" (bootbovens first part of mozart's lacrymosa, because I thought it was such well constructed song. He just said "the tones just go up, I can do this too" (he plays no instrument). The tones of the melody do in a certain part go up, but the way the chord pattern is constructed is not 'just up' (otherwise it would sound boring)...so the defiition complexity is a bit taste too
I didn't mean to say I havea good taste or not..its just personal and everyone has another opinion. It just takes so long to randomly find tunes that sound "ear-gasmic"to me..so I hope other people might know more songs like this. Not much luck unfortuantely. I would like songs being vocally more, but there are not (any?) songs in that kind of type I'm looking for that are vocally. Would be great if someone sang a song like this. Not sure what the the lyrics would be though lol
Don't listen to the remix, it's total crap, if you cannot find the song on youtube let me know. The remix I should mention is mixed by tiesto, but it deprives the song of what it's meant to express and show. That's why I believe the remix is total crap.
Don't take my answer so literal. He was a Dj in the sense that he used classical instruments to make amazing songs, and amazing reconstructions of those songs. Or in other words remixes, a case of this would the moonlight sonata movements, there is the original 1st movement then 2 other versions or remixes. So therefor, you technically could extend the full meaning of the word Deejay and apply to him.
Now you're twisting my sentences somewhat. Look up the full meaning of the word Dj, there is Deejay and Disk Jockey two different things. A Deejay is as a reggae or dancehall musician who sings and toasts to an instrumental rhythm. Now if you take away the reggae and dancehall part you technically get a classical musician, hence a composer. That's why I said you could extend the meaning of the word DeeJay and apply it to him.
I believe you though of a Disk Jockey. Again read my sentences I clearly stated, if you extended the word DeeJay you could apply it to Beethoven. But it seems you failed to read my statement properly. So I do apologize if I did not post it clearly enough.
Well I copy the URL, paste it on forinside com, choose the format (mp3), and download. I get music and clips from youtube using that all the time, idk if it's legal. :p
@luigiruleztheworld no you dont write endless infront of the youtube part you write repeat :D

beethoven was a dj? :P

Hell yeah he was.

HELL NO

Don't take my answer so literal. He was a Dj in the sense that he used classical instruments to make amazing songs, and amazing reconstructions of those songs. Or in other words remixes, a case of this would the moonlight sonata movements, there is the original 1st movement then 2 other versions or remixes. So therefor, you technically could extend the full meaning of the word Deejay and apply to him.
rubconsu 2 years ago
he was a compositor, it's like saying every compositor is a deejay. then even I am a dj, wow.
Vanmpir 2 years ago
Now you're twisting my sentences somewhat. Look up the full meaning of the word Dj, there is Deejay and Disk Jockey two different things. A Deejay is as a reggae or dancehall musician who sings and toasts to an instrumental rhythm. Now if you take away the reggae and dancehall part you technically get a classical musician, hence a composer. That's why I said you could extend the meaning of the word DeeJay and apply it to him.

sorry, normally i'm not that kind of person but i wont argue with people who think that "Technically" bethoveen was dj, it just insults me
Vanmpir 2 years ago
I believe you though of a Disk Jockey. Again read my sentences I clearly stated, if you extended the word DeeJay you could apply it to Beethoven. But it seems you failed to read my statement properly. So I do apologize if I did not post it clearly enough.

Kinda sounds like the end of Tiesto's "Urban Train". You can tell it is loosely based on this.
