Razer Carcharias Review

I had a pretty bad experience with this headset. After about a month, the left speaker cut out completely. I got a replacement through the warranty and it broke within a few months, too. I cracked it open and soldered all the wires down. They have awful construction. They broke again.

They should be good headphones. They have good design, audio quality, and a few really nice features, like the fiber wire. However, they skimped on the construction. I cannot recommend it.

The megladon volum control or "box" or what ever it it, is a on-table thingy. Its realy nice actually, easy to controll the volume and some other stuff.

@MrAntibeast that's definitely correct. an x-fi can take 7.1 audio in fact from a game and using CMSS 3D and SVM features of the sound card, you can get a virtual surround sound audio field, and it is extremely convincing in-game. that will work with any stereo headset.

I find that they have an ear piercing sound that I cant seem to go away. It's almost like when you can hear the shitty shake bass from the outside of someones car. It just has a really harsh rattle to it. Anyone else notice this?

Same specs as the more expensive Megalodon just minus the 7.1Ch and about 0.3m of cable. Much cheaper and look almost the same.

7.1 in a headphone coming out of 2 speakers? That's retarded. There should only be one channel per speaker. Virtual audio channels are crappy and 2Ch are all you need for headphones.

Whilst gaming 2Chs work well at giving you that 3rd eye perspective of who and what is coming from where. Megalodon's 7.1Ch is a gimmick. Get the Carcharias IMO.

carcharias headsets are bad if u don't got the cushioning he has in his earphones.... I prefer siberias because they go all over your ears it has a shape inside the ear cups that just fits to the side of your ears. the razer carcharias is just to much cushioning in it. But id say carcharias has good sound it feels more 5.1 to me then 2.1 good review btw.

One thing most people forget is that any decent soundcard can generate 7.1, and a good soundcard + Carcharias is cheaper than a Megalodon.

Ya basically any headset does. The only way to prevent that completely is to get earbuds and a separate mic, or earbuds with a mic like the Roccat Vire (which really wouldn't be a bad choice as long as they get good surround sound, but I doubt they could fit multiple speakers into earbuds).

well, these are the most comfortable headphones that I've ever used. the padding is pretty soft. I've used the for 4+ hours and they haven't irritated me except they can get quite hot after a while
