Actually... its not a real "Elastico", cause he pulls the ball if the botton of his foot, then taps it to the other side. The real one you do that too... but using the outside then the inside part of your foot.
Just imagine how good Ronaldo could have been if he didn't get injured so badly. The guy was absolutely incredible. It's a crime we never got to see him at his best but did enjoy his career. Even when he was half the player he used to be after injuries while at Real Madrid he was still one of the best in the World.
anyone ever notice that Messi's primary move is the elastico, the main difference between him and ronaldo/ronaldinho is that he does it while sprinting
THEY ARE NOT ELASTICOS, BUT THEY SEEMED MUCH MORE COMPLICATED TO DO AND COULD GET YOU OUT OF TROUBLE MUCH BETTER WHENEVER YOU ARE SURROUNDED BY OPPONENTS
@698killjoy indeed. Isn't it strange how some soccer/Calcio/futbol etc fans feel the need to "own" the world football. The vast majority of English speakers - Canada, USA, Australia etc happily call the game soccer.
1. I'm English, and live in England, I call it Football, never soccer.
2. You're either too young, or blinkered to bother to research the reason behind the origin of the word soccer. As it says in my previous comment its even written for cretins like you on Wikipedia...
3. Stop playing Fifa on your computer/games console and read about the history of the game, stop being so ignorant and narrow-minded.
@555Chelseafc555 try calling it football in america. you will have to explain you mean soccer every time. and just because we call it a different name, either way we love the sport just as much as anyone else. cunt
@Milanao Your wrong... The elastico is made in two movements as well its called a double tap elastico and there is something called the triple elastico which uses 3 taps =O
@Milanao You said one move then that means you would stay still after going in one direction?? that would be a half elastico then?? I think what you meant to say is the foot is not meant to visually loose connection with the ball?? that is not strictly true either theres more than one way of making a knot, but its still a knot. Milanao is completely right, and theres also a ton of other elasticos behind the standing leg ect....
@shaunewilliam Thats what i meant^^ in my version of the elastico, the food never looses the connection to the ball. the first elasticos were done that way, but still, there are many ways to do it^^
@Goldsthar Messi is a really great player, but Ronaldo played even nicer and had a bigger talent. Messi is a god too, but people always forget that there were even better players, like Ronaldo, Puskas, Cruyff or Beckenbauer and claim him the best player of all time.
@Hunfootball Completely, but we all know that, I take you all back to world cup 98, Argentinas number 10 Ariel Ortega, better than messi, had he gone to Barcelona the barca of today he would have surpassed messi. Difference is he went to small clubs, yet for Argentina before alcohol ruined him he was phenomenal. Had he not headbutted Van Der Saar they would of played Brasil, and who knows.... The brasilians are the best at dynamics, as in all surfaces, all bodyparts, playing in rhythms and mala
@Hunfootball sorry but i must disagree, i think we could have seen more from ronaldo if he hadnt gotten seriously injured, only then i would consider him better than messi, messi is just so consistent and that is what makes him the greatest of all time. ronaldo is still el fenomeno!!
@lorenzovieiraalves2 Eventhough Ronaldo got injured ealier in his career But he still much better than messi i watched both all my life and they r my two favourite players ever But Il Fenomeno Simply The Best ...Watch this and u will know Why
Ronaldo Nazario da Lima was a great player, but Ronaldinho did do the elastico perfectly, almost as well as the guy who created the trick, Rivelino. Ronaldinho's elastico was far more composed than Ronaldo's, and while these are nice clips, look at Ronaldinho, he has more control and is less likely to lose the ball. That in my mind makes him better at the skill
