@sHaDa7x you have to figure out what firmware you're running (for example, the HD runs on Pavo) and find a background with that name in the zuneshell.dll file and replace it. My link explains it.

I'm currently following your tutorial on the zune boards (awesome work, btw :D) but when I open file 1033 from STYLE.UIX the code looks somin like this

00D0F165 34 43 87 9A 83 83 etc. all the way through the list It does not have

Color Name="DarkGray" Color="55,58,61"/

Color Name="WarmGray" Color="130,134,137"/ and the like at all

How do I get it to display the code right? I'm not an expert and can't figure it out

@z90OoAluYsioNoO09z Anything relating to Styles.uix doesn't work with software versions 4.0 and beyond. If you're following the link to ZuneBoards I supplied, I have it at the top of the post.

@Link9228 Is there any possible way to get back a 3.0 version? I've looked everywhere to download the 3.0 back rather then the 4.0 - It sucks that they went and encrypted the .dll

@z90OoAluYsioNoO09z I'm sure there are ways. All you should really need to do is download the 3.0 software, disconnect from the internet, and clean everything related to the zune software. The only problem with this is that you can't access the marketplace or anything online, and there's a chance plugging in your zune will make your software complain about updates. Furthermore, if you have a Zune HD, it doesn't even work with anything pre-4.0. In all honesty, it's probably not worth it.

@steventaylor80 I don't know where he got the desktop background, but the one he used on his Zune menu was from an artist on Deviantart called alexiuss.

@Steamingboy In the software you used to be able to modify a file within the ZuneShellResources.dll file... but they've since encrypted the file. On the zune itself, it's not presently possible.

I wish that this could work on vista x64.. I'm really not good with this kind of stuff, and I'd really like to know how.. So I have zune 4.0 or something like that and vista x64 and the resource hacker won't work and niether will the Restorator, I've tried everything and can't figure it out someone please give me instructions!

@Haku15Mitarashi It doesn't work all that well anymore. You can't change the fonts and whatnot anymore. The image replacing still works, but you need to use Restorator instead of reshacker.

@MrGamer1994 go to device when your zune is plugged in and select all your music and drag it to the bottom left corner ( it will be a pic of a computer, drag it there )
