I have 3.1.2 software and a 4.0 firmware. And I have no service on my iPhone . Like it's doesn't run on any carrier because I have no service. Can you still tether the iPhone .. If so can you tell me how I have loads of questions.. Thanx 4 your help. 1st generation as well

Doing the tethering tho will cost extra if your carrier does not support it yet. like att charges $0.01 per kb

well i think with 3.0, and with itunes, you just plug in your iPhone, and it will detect it as a modem... Make sure you have Tethering on of course...

what file are you trying to download? if it's the ipcc file, you have to right click and save file as, as told in description. if not i cant help you...

man, 3.0 is OUT! just put it on your iphone, if your carrier doesnt accept tethering, the option wont be there, but if you still want it, this video shows you how! so dont ask those kind of question when the answer is in the video...

where do you live? For tethering, the US doesn't accept it, but for other countries, it depends... for MMS, normally you goto settings and put your phone number in the Phone settings, and it works... if it still doesn't work, call Apple...

all you have to do is get an old att phone is call att and tell them you iphone broke and you want to use your old phone keep all the settings and get the unlimited plan on medianet and the mms works i got 3.0 and someone told me this the only thing you lose is the visual voicemail im cool with it if you do the other method where youu take your sim and switch without att doing it then it might work or not but im 3 weeks strong with mms

i just learned how to get the teathering (usb)option on windows for att or anyother carrier im on 3.0 beta 3 for beta two download the iphone ippc file then search the internet for itunes 8.2 and install it two things happen i know somepeople are ipod isnt working or says no music when there is well 8.2 fixes that and it installs the new devices when you turn the teathering option on hope it help but beware i dont know how it would effect your bill

If you use a Mac, its alt +check for update.

If you use a PC, its Shift + check for update.

Then when you get the destination page, choose at the bottom, iPhone Carrier Files (.ipcc) then browse the file.

yes, with PC, you hold Shift and click on Check for Update, then you choose what file you want to install, ipsw or ipcc, and just browse it...

man... its really simple... you take your file with the .ipcc extension... put it on your desktop... open itunes... Shift and click on check for update... Then you can choose what TYPE of file you want... you will choose iPhone carrier file (.ipcc) and it will install...
