It is easy to get the driver's license (or should we say.....BUY). It is government's intention to have it easy to get the license, easy to buy a car so when the people are used to driving.........then the government drop the boom.....raise the price of the gasoline..............
Actually, I watched this and, it wasn't so bad. I told my wife I would buy us a car but I would not drive it except on the highway. It is not so crazy there. A clear case of the technology getting ahead of the "maturity" of the population.
Riding with a friend one day, I asked him why he kept honking his horn at what looked like nothing. He told me that in the USA you sort of assume that people will follow the traffic laws - we assume they won't; so you keep honking your horn all the time!
I got an idea, why don't we bring the richest criminals in china to the west and give them powerful German cars. And when their kids are sixteen ( or so) give them even more powerful and safer German cars.
@leepialong They forgot to mention that even with plenty of wide sidewalks, the Chinese will walk along right in the street without a care in the world while cars are zipping by!
It is so obvious you are Chinese! How could this video possibly be racist if it is only showing the truth about how things are. There was no negative comments or racists comments in the video relating to the Chinese people.
Being Chinese maybe you can explain to me the need of Chinese People to accuse any person of being racist who shows or tells the truth about China. I guess Chinese are still brain washed and still trying to uphold the great lie of Communism.
@Baldric990 The place in your video is countryside, the road is narrow, you got so many ppl in china, what else you can do,everyone move slowly to avoid traffic accident... you should go to big cities like beijing, shanghai, see what's real driving/traffic in china. not countryside place like this.
Actually it is not the country side. It is a CITY with a population of almost 10,000,000 people.
I have spent quite some time in China and have lived in Beijing. Admittedly the vehicles are in better condition in Beijing but the driving itself is quite reckless.
@Baldric990 I lived in China myself in 2002; your videos bring back memories of when I was living in Daqing and Harbin. Was this video shot in northern China around Harbin?
@Baldric990 I've been to Nanchang, Beijing, and Shanghai and they drive the exact same way in the big city but its worse because the fuckers on the motor scooters don't even stop at red lights.
@Baldric990 That is racist, saying chinese are brain washed and tells great lies. And don't use ur foreign thinking of driving and say they are driving wrong. They have enough sense to avoid each other and give enough room to pass.
@Baldric990 This is not just in a country town. I drove in Guangzhou and it is just as bad as in any other cities. I think they got their driver's license from Mao himself.
How stupid you have to be to be funny? .. very unsafe for innocent pedestrian and other drivers who we strive to drive carefully. This people should never get a drivers licence.
I would have road rage all the time, and probably carry a machine gun, this sucks!!!! This would be a great place for a panel shop, or maybe a funeral directors.
Considering that China's population is around 1,300,000,000 1% of that is around 13,000,000 people. You could hardly say that is not significant when you consider that 13,000,000 is more than the entire population of some countries. That's a shit load of cats!
what city is this? this is actually not bad for china. i had to live there for over a year in jiangsu area. it gets pretty ricockulous there. what i like is when someone gets mangled by a vehicle, they crowd around even when the ambulance is trying to get there.
not really i've been to the capital city in india and the traffic is actually realllly bad but china,,well traffic like this is really fucking bad for sure~ but they have some large cities which have very strict rules for road users
People walking on the road. Lol. Haven't seen that before, except in Africa. This sort of traffic costs about 1.4 million lives in china each year. The amount of casualties must be around 14 to 20 millions per year. despite the fact, that there is much less traffic in china than in Europe.
Man, you need to travel more, because I didn't see any driving here you could not find in most any larger, crowded, city throughout the world, including those in the USA, Europe, or Asia.
For example, lane splitting (the scene at 6:44 where you comment about the bike going between the truck and bus) is now perfectly legal in California (actual law allows it) and extremely commonplace throughout Europe (allowed by law in Germany and tolerated elsewhere).
Thanks for your comment. I have spent my whole life travelling so how could I possibly travel more? With regard to lane splitting, just because it may be legal doesnt mean it is safe. China only has about 2% of the worlds cars ( but growing fast) BUT they account for 15% of the worlds road fatalities. Speaks for itself I guess. Drive safely and thanks for watching and commenting on my video.
traffic video isn´t very exciting. most amazing traffic i´ve ever seen was in delhi.
i´m not sure about that lane splitting thing in germany. it´s not! common at all. maybe it´s allowed between 2 lanes in the same direction, i don´t know. normally bikers do that only when there´s a traffic jam.
I've never seen bicycles on a motorway around here. Actually in Europe its not allowed to stop your vehicle in the middle of the road just to get a water bottle out. I haven't seen any holes in the street where I live. To state that this is normal or legal everywhere is just silly. Have you seen any street signs on the crossings in the vid? No? Then have a look at our streets. You'll notice the difference. Traffic in china is not based on rules, its based on luck.
@stewartx5 Lane splitting is only allowed under very rare circumstances. in germany it's the law, that generally allows it, but u must keep safety distance to cars, are not allowed to cross center lines and it's only allowed to pass stopped vehicles.
so more specific: u r only allowed to overtake at stopping lights. when there is at least 1.6?m space between the car and you. and if u don't touch any lines... not very often.
I love the industrialist style of the buildings there, I would love to visit. Beside the cars, architecture is like taking a trip back to now obsolete communist-era Eastern Europe.
Funny, referring from your profile its looks like you are very fond with Asian, and since your a English teacher in China, do you tell your your students you like to racially profile their people? What kind of teacher are you??
sobek: Why don't you go to India before you start ranting about China. It's even worse there. Not only do they drive even more crazy than China but they've got cows and animals roaming the streets and roads and people don't even care. China has already made improvement in dirivng manners...at least in the cities. Oh yeah and go look at Vietnam, it's even worse than CHina, cause they got motorcycles all over the place.
Jesus Christ, what are your guys' problems? Can't admit your problems? why compare with others that are worse. People like you, if you ever drive in China, should all be arrested, required to pay a huge fine. I am sure that will bring some humility and order into the chinese streets. A bunch of idiots...
:arieAresFYI I HAVE driven in China last year when I was in Zhuhai. Traffic in China now has greatly improved and people now follow the rules..at least in the big cities where the laws are strictly enforced. And frankly speaking I drive here in Los Angeles everyday and drivers here are fucking rude as hell, they think they own the road by not signaling, cutting people off and giving you a nice hand gesture. And btw I did not get arrested driving China THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Is that all you can come up with? You're a waste of time. Don't bother answering back cause I'll just delete won't even read any more of your lame comments.
Been driving in China for over a year now, and I have to say that it is even worse when you're at the wheel. The thing is, if you don't drive the same way, you will just sit at every intersection or end up causing more trouble by driving too cautiously. So get a cheap car, buy full-coverage insurance, wear your seatbelt and have fun practicing for your F1 career.
Ha ha ha. This is not the too crazy china driving. This is the normal. But in China if you dont driving like this no one wait for you to going because there are many people in China.
