  • whats the exact finish on the brown colored kit @1:58 - 2:00

  • Shine went out of business PASS THIS ON so people don't keep loosing their money to these assholes who won't reimburse!

  • shine went out of business . don't buy from them or your going to get ripped off thats what happen to me

  • Hellogoodbye - Touchdown Turnaround (Don't Give Up On Me) haha

  • bury your head by saosin. I had not read all post ;)

  • someone can tell me what it's the title of the first song, please?

  • Keller Maple Shells are great. I work at Anderson International Trading, Anaheim Cali selling them by raw pieces. We have never had one complaint about any of our shells. Shine is one of our thousands of customers and we love them. they are an awesome customer! Go Shine!

  • Is keller malple good? i though it was a cheap maple?

  • hey!...ive started my own custom brand its called helium drums...what makes me different than other custom drums is my low prices...i coud make you a kit: 18x22, 9x12, 14x16 for as low as $700

  • um trick throwoffs are NOT standard I just got a shine kit and my Trick was 75 dollars EXTRA!!!

  • 1:17 looks like Pearl Brass Sensitone

  • Bury Your Head - Saosin (their drummer Alex is endorsed) when they had Anthony Green still. Alex Rodriguez hands down the best shine drummer out there. I like my shine kit nice range on each drum but I have heard horror stories about the wraps on them, I know that my satin finish didn't hold up.

  • whats the first song title and band plox

  • I have used a lot of other companies drums in the studio and I can honestly say that Shine Drums sound, feel, record, project, resonate and even taste like they were handed down from Heaven above. Love 'em!!!

  • im endorsed by shine..and have a beautiful kit..and it sounds amazing..go check out my chiodos cover and see for yourself =]

  • how did you get endorsed

  • Orange County rip off

  • I heard from a guy at guitar center Shine was planning to stop production. Anyone else hear that?

  • its un true!... I hope! :S

  • whats special about a Trick throw-off(i really dont kno)? and is a throw-off the thing that turns on and off the snare?

  • Yes, it tightens or loosens the snares under the snare drum.

  • alex was endrorses by truth now right?

  • at 2:05 =O

  • Fuck Pearl

  • check out my channel for DNT custom drums

  • shine is the bestt on kit drumm costums "

  • nice drums, stupid music

  • you have to be good to be SPONSERED by sjc and i barley managed it

  • But to be sponsored by Shine you need gigs so that you can show people you use their drums. (I still like SJC better)

  • song is bury your head, for the person below me

  • Comment removed

  • the band is saosin, i just don't know the name of the song. and, to the spartany38...if you heard a custom set from for instance Truth Custom drums or SJC Custom Drums, then you wouldn't talk shit. They sound one thousand times better than anything from tama or pearl. I have a high end pearl, and it doesn't even compare to Truth or SJC

  • besides pearl is staight up gay

  • custom drum companys are fucking gay. there over priced and people just pay for the name and get the trendy emo 4 piece shell pack with gay finishes for $10000 when you can get somthing just as good from tama or pearl. espically shine they offer endorsements to everyone and there dog

  • Im endorsed by shine and no, they dont just hand them out.

  • right and do you get your drums for free or do they give you some bullshit discount when they sent you a myspace message offering you one. im just saying there business practice is very shady and i hear nothing but bad things about this and alot of other custom companys

  • ok, yea they are fucking expensive, I just dropped 2 grand on two toms alone. But Shine does not hand out endorsements and they give a decent discount off the product, If you want free drums go to destructive drums, they give them away so much they are out of business.

  • I got an endorsement from shine last year, awesome drums, as good as my tama starclassic any day, and they did hand em out for free, all I had to pay for was the shipping to the uk, plus they have given me excellent product support. so no complaints here.

  • shine absolutely hands out endorsements. they were gonna give me one without me sending any drumming samples or anything and they tried to charge me 800 for a 14x5 snare

  • pearl sucks

  • I love shine custom drums. The first time I heard about it was when they put their ad in DRUM! Magazine and I explored their website, and I love their sound, like DW drums, and they all have great tone and pitch. In particular, I think they rival those of Pearl MasterWorks, PDP Platinum(somewhat), and Tama _Star_ series, kinda. Even though those are production kits, I don't really know much about other customs.

I know Zac Farro of Paramore plays Truth, that's one...

I heard SJC & SF Drum & co...

  • come listen to my pork pies

  • alot of drummers thats used shine like the dude from the devil wears prada ,a day to remember..etc have all switched to truth sooo yeaaaa

  • There's absolutely no fucking difference between shine, truth, orange county. They all use the same exact shells and hardware. These are just companies that put the pre-made hardware together and paint them. They're all going to sound the same if have the same specs.

Rock is on the way out anyway. It has turned into such shit.

  • you are right they use the same stuff

but they will not sound the same because what shine does is they coat there drums(not paint) many times on both the inside and out unlike many other custom drums like sjc and truth

im not saying your wrong but shine drums put more care into their drum sound unlike other custom drum companies so there is a difference

  • Adding coats to the inside of the drum doesn't make it sound any better. Many companies add coats to the inside. That's purely for aesthetics. It's the same shell you'll get from Orange County, and every other custom drum company.

Branman, you're a sucker if you think these drums are better than any others.

Go to DW if you want good quality, good looking drums.

  • i dont think that these are better than any other

but i personally like the sound of shine drums

go to there site and go to gallery/audio and listen to there audio in my opinion the drums sound great

  • DW are different because DW makes their own shells. They create each shell to resonate an actual pitch. Keller does not. While Keller shells are high quality, they do not match DW craftsmanship.

Then again, DW charges like $4K for a bassdrum.

    (P.S. Get Paiste Cymbals ;)

  • i love paiste

    i have a 21 inch 2002 crash its amazing

  • nice! My first paiste cymbal was a 2002 splash. I fell in love with them ever since. You REALLLY need to check out their new signature line - the dark signatures. The best sounding crash cymbals on earth. They have the good Signature sound, blended with a china sound.

  • ya i got it for free well

i havent even heard of there new line but ill check them out

  • hey i had to chose between shine and dw

i chose dw haha there awesome

i got the whole set 10,12,14,22

    for 1800 from guitar center

  • HELL YEA!!! Check the inside of the shells, there is usually a stamp that says which note the shell makes - then tune the heads to that note, and your toms will sing!!!

  • oh i didn't know that that was the note awesome

    ill try it

  • i have a DW, and i just recently got sponsored by shine.

    shine is better.

    but that's just my opinion...

  • cool thats awesome

i live right next to shine's workshop

could you please post a video of the drums recorded

    that would be awesome

  • Maybe you should have looked into that before you bought the gosh damn drumset..

plus im sure a company like themselves have a clue what they're doing to sponsor the "shit" bands. they cant be that no named if your mentioning them.. i just think your being a jerk about it. your dumbass fault that you didnt even look into the company you invested it. you have a choice of what you want on it and on the shells.. good flippin' job dude.

  • just make your own drums like i do.. you can buy the same shells every body else basiclly uses for like 300 all together plus all the parts which might be like 500 or 600, to me if ur using keller maple shells, your geting the same sound right? make your own. compare 500 or 600 to like 2000

  • Honestly, how can people be in to this kind of shit? All these emo custom drum companies use the same Keller shells and the same hardware with ugly paint jobs

  • agreed.

  • 1:20 is my dream <<<<33333

  • Lol alex from saosin has been on Gretsch for quite a while but i miss the Shine days...

  • The video I saw he was playing Truth custom drums, that was just after their last album.

  • oh ok, so you just posted it in 08?

  • Well it was originally posted on the custom drum forum's main page in April of 2007 for the feature . All of the custom feature videos I do are originally posted on MySpace . I put them up on here as well just to share them with people .

  • dude, you like totally copied my idea, but i must say, you did fine job

  • Well I do moderate a custom drum ( builder & player )forum and this video was put together as a featured builder video for Shine drums with their co-operation so I'm not sure that classifies as copying when the video is almost a year old as well . Thanks for viewing it though .
