great overview.If there is no class 3 ffl near you what are your options in getting a suppressor ,I just don't know of any where I live or even close be..maybe just S O L
Are supressors illegal in Michigan? or can you refer me somewhere where their info is legitiment, cuz ive heard its illegal and that they are legal and ive tried looking up the laws and stuff but ive had no luck
@TheHossUSMC Get one in .45acp - the a weighted average db is just 3db higher with 9mm than their dedicated can and you can shoot 40 and 45 through it. Or if you get a 300blackout/whisper you can use subsonic loads through it.
I've got the .45acp can and am waiting on my SS 22sparrow tax stamp - I am so impressed by the .45acp can that it's hard to put into words - "hollywood quiet" almost does it justice.
@GunWebsites great vid!!, as usual, just one nitpicky heads-up: the can actually shifts the projectile's POI (point of impact), not your POA, but as you pointed out, once properly indexed for that specific weapon (usually achieved through multiple adjustments on the range the 1st time out) you're POA and the round's POI should be right on, plus once indexed, you're rounds' POI will @ the very least stay consistent...again, great vid!!! s...

Does this also work on a 9mm SMG with a threaded barrel?
Gewehr7 8 months ago
@Gewehr7
well.. yes and no.. it would fit on one, but full auto cans are usually built heavier

@GunWebsites Ok thanks for the answer

@grizzlyglock1
I would suggest you look for the state pro-firearms clubs. They might have a classified section of their website or newsletter
Try local / state firearms forums too
all else fails the list of all FFLs is public and many websites post current ones

Very cool if i was still in the game i would have one.

could shooting a jacketed round of ammunition out of a suppressed rifle (such as an m4) tear off some of the Metal that forms the jacket?
murdog3000 8 months ago
@murdog3000
nope, the suppressor doesn't touch the bullet at all (unless something wrong has happened)

Awesome,but this vid brings me to another question,I hear every where that you should only shoot jacketed bullets in glocks but why is that?
SPARTAN23123xS23x 8 months ago
@SPARTAN23123xS23x
the kind of rifling glocks use (polygonal) can collect some lead build up from non-jacketed ammo
GunWebsites 8 months ago
Is this the operation of most suppressors or just for a gemtech.
m4a1m16g36 8 months ago
@m4a1m16g36
all of them are a bit different, and this is just one of Gemtechs models..
Other cans for this kind of pistol will need to operate something like this though
GunWebsites 8 months ago
very nice

Is this suppressor rifled? or are they riled? in general...
MakeYaBootyBurn 8 months ago
@MakeYaBootyBurn
there is no barrel in a suppressor to rifle, plus they don't touch the bullet (unless something went very wrong)
GunWebsites 8 months ago
@MakeYaBootyBurn
Its not a barrel.
Its a series of baffles, or walls, that catch the escaping gas.
The bullet doesn't touch the suppressor.
