I have an E46 M3 and am currently at 142k and track my car monthly and have yet to have 1 reliability issue. Normal wear and tear on the car. Tires, brake pads, fluids. Besides that NOTHING. Can't say the same for a lot of the other cars mentioned in these comments.

this is a very true statement. I own an e46 m3 and love it. i am a //M power fanatic, but BMW doesn't make a production car that can compete with a GT-R. You would almost have to spend 250k on a lambo or ferrari, and about 180k on a GT2 to be in the same ballpark performance wise as the GT-R. The M3 gtr is a race car and is not in production so it doesn't count, that's why they don't put the lap times of race cars on the board on Top Gear.

Great vid, but it's not that fair. Both are six cylinder cars, RWD, similar in displacement... but the Z is running forced induction. I know we all run what we've got, but cars that are similar in builds just make a better, more exciting race. Like SpeedKlz said, get a boosted M3 lined up with the Z and we'll see a nice run. Both are well engineered cars though.
Some forums argue that the 350z is still sluggish with mods. The nismo 350z does 0-60 in 5.1 sec 1/4 mile in 13.7 stock is 0-60 in 5.4 sec 1/4 mile in 14.4. Either way it depends on how much you want to spend, you can save alot getting stock and putting on twin turbos, but if you mod a m3 you would be killin.
on stock top end the m3 would roast that 350z ive got e46 325 wich has i think right a around 200hp the m3 has 333hp and the only thing thats been able to get me on the interstate was a g35 and i barely pulled me

I had a 2004 M3 then traded for an Evo IX. My Evo handles and is way faster than my stock m3 with just 2 bolt ons, an ECU reflash and new suspensions on my Evo for less than 3k. M3 got looks I give it that but it looks like a plain jane 3 series sometimes.

this is a very true statement. I own an e46 m3 and love it. i am a //M power fanatic, but BMW doesn't make a production car that can compete with a GT-R. You would almost have to spend 250k on a lambo or ferrari, and about 180k on a GT2 to be in the same ballpark performance wise as the GT-R. The M3 gtr is a race car and is not in production so it doesn't count, that's why they don't put the lap times of race cars on the board on Top Gear.

Great vid, but it's not that fair. Both are six cylinder cars, RWD, similar in displacement... but the Z is running forced induction. I know we all run what we've got, but cars that are similar in builds just make a better, more exciting race. Like SpeedKlz said, get a boosted M3 lined up with the Z and we'll see a nice run. Both are well engineered cars though.

Some forums argue that the 350z is still sluggish with mods. The nismo 350z does 0-60 in 5.1 sec 1/4 mile in 13.7 stock is 0-60 in 5.4 sec 1/4 mile in 14.4. Either way it depends on how much you want to spend, you can save alot getting stock and putting on twin turbos, but if you mod a m3 you would be killin.

Sorry buddy but a new M3 won't beat a turbo Z, my brother has an turbo 03 Z Greddy TT kit makes 392whp and 378wtq at 9PSI, no way a 414hp and 295tq car can come close to it unless its like a civic hatch which weighs next to nothing. I had a 2004 M3 then traded for an Evo IX. My Evo handles and is way faster than my stock m3 with just 2 bolt ons, an ECU reflash and new suspensions on my Evo for less than 3k. M3 got looks I give it that but it looks like a plain jane 3 series sometimes.

i was comparing the z32 to z33.. in reference to another quote. HOwever.. ur wrong.. it will not get smoked, there are many track races of the 350z and m3 being very close. Which comes down to a drivers race. Watch topgear or other track races. rx8 350z and m3 all shared very close lap times... so the m3 as much as i love it.. is not the better performer considering it has 30 more hp than the 350z.
