Grandia II - Boss Battle: Mareg

This brings me back to like 10 years ago when I first had it on the Dreamcast.

It was the first RPG I ever played.

I remember getting so pissed because Mareg always raped the crap out of me. It took me at least 10 times till I finally beat him :p

by far my favorite rpg out now. i loved it better than grandia 1....that one took WAAAAAY too long to level up. this one was perfect....tha only thing i hated was that when i first got this game my dumbass rushed thru and got utterly raped by tha heart of valmar....now i constantly train, and if anything, tensaiken slash was at 5 stars before we even knew who milennia was!

Yea grandia 1 effected me like no other game I had played. But if there was anything I would take from grandia 2 was Pope Zera's betrayal and Millenia. Which were my fav parts/characters in the game.

not a bad game, not the greatest rpg i have played for the ps2, in my opinion that spot is given to dragon quest 8 which is just incredible near perfect rpg.

Yep. Mareg believes Ryudo is his brother Melfice, who destroyed Mareg's hometown, Nanan.

And therefore Mareg won't rest until Melfice is dead.

friend of mine let me borrow Final Fantasy X and i'm sorry but Grandia's WAY better as far as battle systems. It was the first turn-based fighting game i ever played (i swore i'd hate them) but i picked up the controls so quick! ffx cutscenes are great but battle/upgrading is tedious. in grandia better weapons came at the perfect time and it was easy to tell which weapon was better. unlike FFX SPHERE GRID i could read what a move did b4 I bought it to see if it's useful.

Ah, I've never played Grandia II (although one of my friends loves it), but I have played Grandia III. The story might not be the best, but the battle system is pretty great (and similar to GII). I'd definitely suggest it once you finish GII.
