Is the nokia n8 compatible out the box like the n900 for aircrack-ng meaning injecting packages n ETC?

@JAYJAY1787 Unfortunately the N900 is actually the only mobile device with injection capabilities. That's because it's a Linux PC, not a phone.

@sgsiiuser As far as I know no Android phone has modified wifi driver for injection capabilities (that's because Android is not open-source).

I managed to find the WEP of my router with your instructions.

I have a couple of questions. if it finds lets say 5 routers with WEP encryption can we select which router to crack? eg I want the 4th. as it is configured it cracks the first, then second etc.

Also, can it crack WPA?

@beavisqq Those questions have already been answered in the guide's comments, but: 1) just press CTRL+C for the menu and 2) WPA is impossible on handheld device.

when I try to crack my own WEP again it captures ivs very slowly or not at all.

I have restarted my router and N900 without success. what should I do now? in the first time it took 3-4 minutes using arp replay. Now nothing works

@beavisqq If there's no network traffic, capturing IVs can be impossibile or very difficult (expecially using only a phone!). There's not much more we can do in these situations, unless you want to learn all the possible aircrack-ng suite attacks!

Also pressing ctrl-C doesn't bring any menu and doesn't stop the attack. it seems to be trying for ever.

also, is it possible to change the 12db option to a 50db somehow?

@beavisqq That's weird, Ctrl+C should stop the attack and show a menu with choices... The limit can be changed by modifying the source, of course ;)

what traces does the N900 leave on a wireless router? The device name and the mac address only?

Can I change the device name (Nokia-N900) to something else?

@beavisqq You can change both the MAC and the device name, so that no one will be able to find you. My N900 is called "Sony Vaio" ;)

However, you'll need some experience in order to change the hostname. Google it.

@blankets1453 I used the TV output, which was connected to a Easycap USB Video Grabber. Pretty complicated, I know, but I couldn't record the screen in any other way!

@torpedo4890 I tried with the other bullcrap app called cleven and it s no use ..wait 1h and 30 minute and said ..failed try wit 5000 iv's..I was having only 34 ..so in 134 hours mabe then..that wep key is only from 6 characters :))

@Androsstudio It's not a matter of lenght, cracking a WEP key can be very difficult if you don't know what you're doing or if you have no traffic on the router! Never tried Cleven, however every application for these things is based on Aircrack-ng suite, which can't work under bad conditions! :)

I did that hack successfully at the first time but i can't do it any more !! It sead (unable to generate enough IVS in time) it capturing (0/sec) ivs and some times (3 to 70/sec) ivs !!! please help

@TheDenxero Well maybe you were lucky the first time! If you haven't changed anything since the initial success, there's no reason to think that there's something wrong in your setup, so you just need more luck. If wifite can't do the job, maybe you'll be interested in doing it manually using X-Term and the aircrack-ng suite, it's a bit more complicated but it'll work for sure!

@vickerszephaniah In other comments you said that you need someone to crack that password for you, so maybe the one without skills is you, am I right? However, I can't do the job if I'm not near the access point, so you'll have to do it by yourself, just boot Bt from a USB key and learn how to use Gerix wifi cracker, and you'll have that password in minutes.

@shanz38 Hi, unfortunately the Nokia N900 is the only mobile device with packet injection capabilities (AFAK), so I'm afraid it is not possible to do this kind of things on a Nokia E5.

You can use fAircrack (search on google) but you will need the driver for the injection (for that use a power kernel >46).

@vivalazohal WPA has been disabled by vi_ (porter of wifite to the Nokia N900) to speed up the process, if you can handle tons of GBs of raimbow tables on your phone, or if you just want to experiment, you can try re-enabling it.

And yes, this is all done with wifite, and its dependences (more information in the complete guide I've written, link will appear in the description of the video soon).
