People always give Tifa bad vibes just because she had materia. 4 one hitomi had insane strength so to balance it Tifa had to have materia. Secondly she used it less in the 1v1 fight than she did in the 3v3 fight which means she was trying to be even more fair. Thirdly Hayate is a homo. I personally love the feeling of desperaton that occurs when Hitomi seems to be on her last leg. The music at the time and how she changed her style really adds to it all, dramatically, imo.

Depending on the viewer you would say that the FF team won a round in episode 2 and DoA won won a round in episode 5.
If it wasn't for certain inturoptions in the other episodes we'd get clear wins.
For example this one, episode 3, was interupted by who I believe to be Hiyate(never played DoA sadly) in which if the fight continued Tifa probably would have won.
Episode 1's fight was inturupted by Tifa DoA would've won, and Cloud in episode 4

No I meant Tifa was an interuption to the first part. Yuna and Rikku were probably going to die in the first one if it wasn't for Tifa. In the second one there were interuptions on both teams and since the FF team succefully seporated the DoA team they won that round while DoA won part 5 because of Hiyate.

Hitomi taking her materia is probably his way of saying "what if the DOA characters were put into the FF evolution of using materia and getting stronger?" But as for the strength the FF characters have in their own gaming universe, you're probably better off trying to pit them against powerhouse series like Marvel or Dragonball Z. These are two totally different gaming genre's, so it's difficult to see who can actually win on fair ground.
I've never really played an FF game, but saw a few movies and watched friends play it for awhile, so my knowledge on FF lore is very limited. I think oum took away the rpg endgame factor of FF, thereby making the characters seem weaker, but putting them on level grounds with the DOA characters, who as part of a fighting game don't evolve and level up but remain the same person throughout their story.
The scenes were actually pretty accurate. The ninja's are actually shown to be that powerful withen their own game. They are just "Dumbed down" during the actual game play to make it fair to the other characters.(Ayume actually shown setting off a massive explosion at the end of DoA4 similiar to the one shown in 2) The only thing that seemed out of place was how stupidly super powered the men are being showed as. Since the orange female ninja is suppose to be the strongest.
The only person on the final fantasy side that seems like they are holding back is tifa. Who hasn't used a limit break or used a summon which she is shown to have(The red materia or orbs in her body.) And hitome last I checked didn't have super human strength to move around objects like she was doing. Those are the only problems I can see from a strictly if we actually took their characters in their own world.
@Laxedrane Actually she used Final Heaven on Hitmoi back in DF 2. Tifa's exaggerated a little bit (insane durability) but that's pretty much it. Hitomi is about peak human in the DOA games.
I think what Oum was being pretty fair and realistic with the way these fights turned out. Think about it: the FF characters are unstoppable as a group, especially since the fights in the actual game are group based and their attacks complement each other. DOA is a fighting game, 1 on 1, so alone, DOA wins because the characters are made to beat the crap out of one person, with no group combat involved.
I want to know what Materia Tifa is all equipped with, cause the more i see this fight the more it drives me nuts. no ultima, no limit breaks, no morph, mini, first strike, quad magic, w - item, i mean the list goes on. Its like the maker knew there were 83 materia orbs, loaded her up, and then told her she can only use green and the occasional blind/poison . dont know about anyone else but i claim shinanagins, i want a refight, lol.
@hound89 Magical attacks cannot be blocked or parried unless you are equipped with that current magic, and even then it only negates partial damage. All magic attacks are based off of D&d, and they dirrectly say, magic is unblockable, it would not be magic if it could be blocked. So your comment makes no sense, and when was the last time you saw cloud, squall, or tidus block or even parry a magic attack? unless hitomi has a M-barrior shoved up her ass this fight still makes no sense.
@Johnnynano well actually it is blockable the way hitomi did it. the fire spell was blocked by some floor she tore off the ground, then s stole some of tifa's materia and was able to block te spells tifa cast on her! only fair right? still hate that i didn't get to see a limit break.
i love the video, but you lost me at Hitomi beating the materia out of Tifa. This is the downfall of putting a magic based fighter vs a pure power house. I love the fight, but imo, with Tifa rocking that much Materia she would have won instantly. I love both Genres, but plz, if your going to have Tifa loose all her Materia, atleast have her use the Summon Materia first (Red orbs) instead of her getting the trash kicked out of her. And i wanted to see a limit break! lol. but good vid.

I mean i saw atleast 5 summon materia orbs, not to mention enough green orbs to show that she was equipped with Ultima. He should have made it Tifa vs Kasumi, she atleast can "port" her self due to Ninjitsu training.
@BlackValleyRequiem Hitomi tries to use fire so Tifa uses ice which Hitomi deflects and then moves into using lightning that Tifa dodges and prepares for fire but switches it to what looks like lightning only to be grabbed.
@lv70rouge maybe if they were using the junction system from FF8, but in ff7 materia never lowered stats. It was only untill Crisis Core that is effected stats, and thats just cause Zack sucks at useing materia, the guy dosent even get summon materia, just green, purple, and yellow. Command/independant/support.
@Muriano My fault, i should have specified. Only green materia lowers or raises stats, and even then those are only str, def, vit, and hp. Red, Purple, Yellow, and Blue materia do not effect anything. Still, in this fight, with the amount of support and command materia Tifa has, she should have won easily. And like i said, she never once used a summon materia, which you see her loose when she gets her arse handed to her.

Blue gives magic modifications. One good example is double cast(i hope i still remember). Example is....you cast 1 ice. Instead of 1 cast, that makes 2.

@Johnnynano well actually it is blockable the way hitomi did it. the fire spell was blocked by some floor she tore off the ground, then s stole some of tifa's materia and was able to block te spells tifa cast on her! only fair right? still hate that i didn't get to see a limit break.

i love the video, but you lost me at Hitomi beating the materia out of Tifa. This is the downfall of putting a magic based fighter vs a pure power house. I love the fight, but imo, with Tifa rocking that much Materia she would have won instantly. I love both Genres, but plz, if your going to have Tifa loose all her Materia, atleast have her use the Summon Materia first (Red orbs) instead of her getting the trash kicked out of her. And i wanted to see a limit break! lol. but good vid.

@BlackValleyRequiem I was hoping to see her have thrown mini or morph on Hitomi. she would truely stand no chance if Tifa even used half of the materia in her. I mean i saw atleast 5 summon materia orbs, not to mention enough green orbs to show that she was equipped with Ultima. But again, this is the downfall of putting a magic based game character against a a fighter who is just well trained. He should have made it Tifa vs Kasumi, she atleast can "port" her self due to Ninjitsu training.

@BlackValleyRequiem Hitomi tries to use fire so Tifa uses ice which Hitomi deflects and then moves into using lightning that Tifa dodges and prepares for fire but switches it to what looks like lightning only to be grabbed.

@lv70rouge maybe if they were using the junction system from FF8, but in ff7 materia never lowered stats. It was only untill Crisis Core that is effected stats, and thats just cause Zack sucks at useing materia, the guy dosent even get summon materia, just green, purple, and yellow. Command/independant/support.

@Muriano My fault, i should have specified. Only green materia lowers or raises stats, and even then those are only str, def, vit, and hp. Red, Purple, Yellow, and Blue materia do not effect anything. Still, in this fight, with the amount of support and command materia Tifa has, she should have won easily. And like i said, she never once used a summon materia, which you see her loose when she gets her arse handed to her.

-it was innate in the game FFVII that those characters have materia, so it's not cheating. it's just bad that DoA doesn't have those. and it's obvious that the maker of the clip is an FF fan because he makes contests for designing the FF & KH characters. i'm dissapointed too that tifa lost this fight but i have to say that the fight wasn't fair from the beginning, Tifa was cheating with her Materia. Anyway i think Hitomi has well-earning the win against tifa. i like the Technic which she used to take the materia out (its called Wing-Tsun) this is the technic which Bruce Lee's Master (Grandmaster IP) has developed and teached

I agree with soraroxa and RisingSun, Tifa rocks! I hate that she lost. I don't mind Hitomi winning to be honest, but...I just hate HOW she won.
Besides, how is Tifa cheating? The materia is her magic power and it's used to match up against Kasumi and Ayane's abilities. I don't see a problem.

The green ones are Magic Materias.
Violets gives +HP, +MP, +stats, etc.
Blue gives magic modifications. One good example is double cast(i hope i still remember). Example is....you cast 1 ice. Instead of 1 cast, that makes 2.
