Great job, I grew up in the midwest and recently retired from the Army here in Texas and I can say that Texans sure love to cook out/BBQ. And you guys do it right. Very Impressed. Kev, try putting some hot dog weenies and sausage in with the potatoes, corn and such. Makes great hot dogs and sausage po-boys for later. Also the potatoes cooked in the boil make a killer potato salad. My Mom's specialty.

For example, I didn't know craw fish and other shellfish have a harmful bacteria on them that need to be killed before consumption, in the case that I caught craw fish and needed to survive eating them, I now know how to cook them. @clayp72 Boudain is a light colored sausage that the base ingredient is rice. The most popular is pork. There are many other kinds such as green onion, crawfish, shrimp and numerous other varieties written on the labels. Every grocery store in south LA carries boudain. Many meat markets, and convienent stores sell hot individual links for $1.50-3.00 wrapped in aluminum foil. To me pork boudain taste very similar to a pork tamale.

I was raised on a crawfish farm in South Louisiana. Crawfish need not be at a rolling boil for longer than 5 minutes. Any longer and they get hard to peel. All that seasoning and a rolling boil for 5 minutes and nothing will harm you, I guarantee.
I should really stop watching videos of other people BBQ. I get such cravings for like BBQ stake, sausages, prawns, chicken legs, beer....Even the smell of charcoal burning gets me hungry!!

I agree with people commenting about what you said...nothing funny about making fun of animal rights activists. They have the right to think what they want, just as you do about guns, government and christianity. dont be an asshole. just cook em. I bet they taste good, but i dont think i could boil a bunch of little creatures like that.

@clayp72 Boudain is a light colored sausage that the base ingredient is rice. The most popular is pork. There are many other kinds such as green onion, crawfish, shrimp and numerous other varieties written on the labels. Every grocery store in south LA carries boudain. Many meat markets, and convienent stores sell hot individual links for $1.50-3.00 wrapped in aluminum foil. To me pork boudain taste very similar to a pork tamale.

I was raised on a crawfish farm in South Louisiana. Crawfish need not be at a rolling boil for longer than 5 minutes. Any longer and they get hard to peel. All that seasoning and a rolling boil for 5 minutes and nothing will harm you, I guarantee.

@mrmonkeyman50 PETA has spoken out against eating lobsters and they often protest "lobsterfest" celebrations up here in Maine. Mary Tyler Moore used to talk about the cruelty of cooking live shelfish. And i don't know about the guy you are replying to but if some one wants to eat cat and dog i say have at it.

@hermanpotato Your pet can be my dinner. Dogs and cats are eaten in other cultures by "normal people". He was making a video about cooking and went ahead to pick a fight for no reason. If PETA is an attention whore, then why is Kevin giving them more attention? If this guy wants to speak his mind that's fine. But if it looks stupid and hypocritical than that's the price of talking before thinking. By the way, HE said animal rights activists YOU said PETA. They are NOT the same.

He didn't pick a fight he made a joke as he placed a animal that has a about the same central nervous system of a ant into boiling water. I can't speak as to why he decided to say it but i sure as hell wouldn't want any one to feel the need to censor their beliefs out of a their own vid.

But he went ahead and tried to show a moral superiority for doing so. That's what is at issue. No one would have brought up animal rights if he didn't. That's the point.

Im sure there are more sensible animal rights activist out there, by sensible i meen smart enough to relize that animals are mean't to be eaten and that no animal has enough of a thought process to care if it is killed. These sensible animal rights activist would only care about gross abuse of animals and they wouldn't care about something as normal as cooking live shelfish.

@hermanpotato Animals have a thought process to care if it is being killed. Plenty of scientific evidence shows that animals have empathy for their own kind. Where do you think we humans get those characteristics from? We are animals too! I'm not saying it's wrong to eat animals, but get your facts straight. That's why killing an animal is a sacred right in cultures where the food doesn't come from a grocery store.

I am a commercial fisherman so don't give me the self righteouse, society takes meat for granted shit, it takes hard work to get that food into a grocery store. We Americans are lucky to live in a society where people have so much food that they can spend their time telling people what not to eat. The animal rights folks who make a big deal about slaughter houses and such are the ones who are taking the grocery stores for granted.

As a result, I had to remind you that you didn't have any, in particular, since science shows you are wrong. If you happen to "fish" lobsters in Maine, congrats.
