  • I'd absolutely love to try this out but i dont see the point of putting down animal rights.

  • What size pot is that? 35qt? You did 70 pounds in 2 boils?

  • Great video I live in Northern Canada BC/Yukon border and our Crayfish are anywhere between 100 gramms to 350 gramms each the're like little lobsters so we usually catch about 40-50 a day for a 3 day weekend than Sunday we have a boil.Thanx for the video Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

  • Your sir know how to eat... Hats off to you... :)

  • It looks reallyy hot outside, they were already slow cooking when their inside that freshwater drainage

  • Craw fish crabs/ lobsters is not considered as animals what so ever, i guess the parasite go to your head.

  • That must have cost a fortune, thats a hellova lot of crawfish! looks delicious tho

  • hmmm the idea of cooking that so long dosent sit well with me once the internal temp is at 170 its going to have killed everything any time spent once the internal temp has reached that is just over cooking. but hey what would i know ;)

  • Thats one of the things I like about you yanks. You seem to love your big family get togethers/outdoor cooking parties, looks like a lot of fun.

  • ooo my..yummy

  • you are the king...

  • That looks good.

  • i just had a crawfish boil today and ours looked better..so in your face

  • video's like this and people like you interest me.

i love hunting, eating, fishing, and the wilderness! great videos, i enjoy all of them.

    subscribed.

  • Great job, I grew up in the midwest and recently retired from the Army here in Texas and I can say that Texans sure love to cook out/BBQ. And you guys do it right. Very Impressed. I love Texas and I love reading the bumper sticker that says.. I'm not from Texas but I got here as quck as I could. good job with all your videos and the knowledge you pass on to your fellow Americans.

  • @ 2:00 was the best of the video! LOL

  • kevin you need to do more prepping vids and gun reviews, your channel has been kind of slow lately. Are you thinking of quitting youtube?

  • @MilitantMax1 i was wondering the same thing

  • Kevin, that looks good, now I gotta go have lunch.( Don,t worry about crawfish feeling pain. If they do they go into shock and are unaware of it). Man, am I hungry, can I come over your house?

  • That looks good! I'm drooling lol.

  • u fucking bitch ass, u made me hungry lmao

  • did any 1 here pink haf way thru it

  • To be fair the latest research shows lobster feel pain despite lacking the same brain structure we use to process pain. I would assume crawfish are the same.

In any case boiling seems like a crappy way to die if you can feel pain.

  • Those crawfish look delicious

  • Comment removed

  • Crawfish are crustaceans but never the less looks quite tasty

  • Is this meal Vegan friendly lol. Thats how you do it Kev. Keep it up

  • This boy knows how to cook. Im hungry now!!

  • Lol, that lil crawfish that you said hello to, I can't help but think he was trying to give you a 'dirty' look lol. Are craw fish the same/same idea as praws? just wondering :-)

  • Kev, try putting some hot dog weenies and sausage in with the potatoes, corn and such. Makes great hot dogs and sausage po-boys for later. Also the potatoes cooked in the boil make a killer potato salad. My Mom's specialty.

  • Kev im dissapointed in the DJ's boudain, you need to drive down to lumberton and pick up some Boutea's (excuse my spelling if its wrong) They make it right there infront of you and its NUMMM NUMMM NUMMM.

  • Here in N.C. we have lots of crayfish but no one eats them. Could you do a more in depth video and tell us how to select and prepare them and what not to do ?

  • @cottonjeff I would like to see something on that myself, the ones that I have seen eaten here was not caught locally. that were shipped from Louisiana. I wonder if it is safe to eat the variety that lives in NC.

  • love my mud bugs haaaa yeeeeeee! missing some good kick ass zydecooooooo

  • Heck of a survival weekend there. Good stuff.

  • That manny craw daddies in one container ready to be boiled is a beautiful sight wish i could join you.

  • Gotta get me some of that Crawfish boilup stuff. We call them crawfish 'YABBIES' here in Australia.Supreme survival food!!

  • poor lttle guys D:

  • heck yeah

  • I always throw an extra one on the grill to make up for those animal rights people.

  • hey... who is this boonieless guy? lol

  • Thanks for the video buddy. I don't like crayfish, but I love a cook out. Good stuff.

  • Huh. How insensitive of you to say that to those "animal rights activists."

  • now im hungry... im going to buy me two lobsters tonight

  • "For all you animal rights activists out there, this one's for you!"

    LOL I love this line.

  • crawdads are my favorite good weather food!, man I love them!!!

  • LOL! TEXAS!!!! He's like "My pit" meaning the huge tow behind BBQ rig....

  • Looks nice! what is boodan?

  • @tazlmc it's a very good sausage :) my hunting buddy use to bring it on trips.

  • p.e.t.a ... people eaten tasty animals.... get-r-done

  • yummy

  • One thing that doesn't make sense is that shellfish cook very fast. It should not take more than 2 minutes to completely sterilize the crayfish. Looks very good.. To bad I went vegan in september.

  • Damn good eats!

  • You put them in head first so you do not hear them scream!

  • looks awesome

  • lol'd hard at "All you animal activists, this is for you." So mean but hilarious.

  • Never had crawfish, do they taste like any other shellfish, lobster or the crab?

  • mmmmm

  • jesus is going to dip you into a boiling pot, eating shellfish is a sin lol

  • Looks like good eats!

  • *rolls eyes*... Survivalist food? You mean go to the store purchase crawfish and sausages and then have a party where everyone nearby can smell the food? I have yet to understand Kev's point of view on the defnition of "survivalist" when he posts videos such as this. You are right Kev, I need to seriously stop watching your videos.....

  • @yankeegal01 Most of it is urban survival. Quit bitching.

  • @JohnBBushcraft I think he's referring to the title. It's like clicking on a video that says 'big tits' and it's man boobs...okay bad example but I understand his annoyance with the title.

  • @JohnBBushcraft QUOTE: "Most of it is urban survival. Quit bitching."

Really? A cookout is suvival? Piss off youngin'.

  • @yankeegal01 He's haveing a cook out. If you don't like it don't watch it.

  • @yankeegal01 He's having a cook out. If you don't like it don't watch it.

  • @JohnBBushcraft QUOTE: "He's having a cook out. If you don't like it don't watch it."

Hey Bushboy, do you even know how to read? The title of the video is "Survivalist Food". The title caught my attention so I came here to watch the video however, I do not see anything in this video pertaining to surivalist food. What I see is nothing but a cookout. How is it survivalist food if he went to a grocery store and bought it for a cookout party? Explain that, oh Mr. Know-It-All Bushboy.

  • @yankeegal01 Perhaps it was a bit of southern humor? haha, calm your self. Learn to read between the lines. Just don't go cross eyed in the process.

  • @yankeegal01 So you wouldn't cook craw fish to survive?! Wow, you're a dumbass.

  • @Pineconeology Never said I wouldn't cook a crawfish [spelling is important Cone], to survive. I'll suck some crawfish right along with everyone else, too. Why is it all the Kev zombie followers don't know how to read and ASSume so much? However, I'll ask you the same question, how is going to the store purchasing crawfish, corn on the cob and frozen sausages and using them at a cookout survivalism? Humm? Explain that for me, oh Mr. "I have to defend Kev, cause he's my "friend".

  • @yankeegal01 I see assholes like you all the time, no uploads, just a dickhead on a mission. If you look at many of his vids, they are in an informative fashion. For example, I didn't know craw fish and other shellfish have a harmful bacteria on them that need to be killed before consumption, in the case that I caught craw fish and needed to survive eating them, I now know how to cook them. It all depends on how you look at it, but morons like you have some mean tunnel vision.

  • @Pineconeology So tell me Mr. Self-Defender (who needs video reviews to have a life), did this video tell you how to obtain crawfish in the wild? Or simply to go to the store? And anyone who fishes on a regular basis knows that anything that dwells in the mud, needs to be rinsed (actually twice) or the mud vein removed and anyone who cooks on a regular basis knows that all freshwater fish/shellfish needs to be cooked completely. You've seriously told on yourself and your cooking skills.

  • @yankeegal01 You're one of the only people who had a problem with his videos. If you can look through different perspectives than you are good, but you can't. Has it ever occurred to you that saying " And anyone who fishes on a regular basis knows...." is very ignorant because not all people share the same knowledge and the contents of this video might have helped some one lacking an understanding of cleaning methods. It seems you assume to much of "anyone".

  • @Pineconeology QUOTE: "It seems you assume to much of 'anyone'."

I would expect someone who has a website, actually two websites about survivalism, and is making money off it, to not make a video about a private party and call it "survivalist food". Additionally, if and/or when there is a SHTF situation, people need to know those little things that I have stated. I guess expecting those who prep to know how to survive with fishing, hunting, growing, cooking, water, etc is too much to ask.

  • @yankeegal01 Aren't craw fish, sausages, and corn survivalist food? You can survive on them can't you? If you found them when SHTF situation comes by, you could survive off of them. It depends how you define survivalist.

  • @Pineconeology I'm out of this conversation. Your justification on this video being a survivalist video is simply mind boggling. I'm out.

  • @yankeegal01 You're close mindedness gives me a head ache, please go.

  • @yankeegal01 Love this comment. I'm subscribing to you.

  • that...is ALOT of crawfish sir. this video makes me jealous and hungry. sooooo sooooo hungryy :(

  • thats so f#!%t up por lil guys but who cares there good

    =p

  • "Hello little feller... (I'm gonna eat ya!).

  • love that cooker

  • i would have used about 1/20 of the water and steamed it all...but I can say after havin a few beers that's all relative :-)

  • oh my goodness, these comments. I watch your videos to get a break from that stuff. oh well, i just wanted to say Mmmm, I want to go camping w/ YOU guys !!

  • its nice to that people care about animals as much as me

  • great video! pay no attention to 67mustangreg comment, people who live off the land see food as something to sustain life,i didnt see your comment about animal rights folks as harmful in any way,you know those people who save the trees but kill the children! keep up the great vids !!

  • @hogkillerjp ...your comment is so full of ignorance. I obviously wont sway your mind so fuck it. just to note, i fish and hunt and own guns. I'm just saying that the way he said "take that animal rights people" he was making an ignorant fighting stance when he didnt have to...he has his rights to free speech but a good "christian" man cares for animals even if he does eat them...anyway, like I said I wont waste any more time on you so fuck it.....sick screen name bro, not.

  • mmmmm yum yes sir good eatting

  • mmm mmm that looks like some good eatin!

  • I agree with people commenting about what you said...nothing funny about making fun of animal rights activists. They have the right to think what they want, just as you do about guns, government and christianity. dont be an asshole. just cook em. I bet they taste good, but i dont think i could boil a bunch of little creatures like that.

  • Thanks lot great...

  • Man thats Louisianna cooking done right!

    I am jealous!

  • Man that looked like some good food!

  • LOOKS LIKE YOU SURVIVED REAL WELL TODAY "ENJOY"

  • I sort of feel sorry for those crawfish. Its a horrible way to die.

  • to bad all your subscribers could'nt be there ,looks good man great video!

  • Aw poor crawfish.

    Their fault for being tasty.

  • I've had boudain with sour crout, expensive. I like the green grass there!

  • Never had Boudain before, is it good & spicy??

  • @clayp72 Boudain is a light colored sausage that the base ingredient is rice. The most popular is pork. There are many other kinds such as green onion, crawfish, shrimp and numerous other varieties written on the labels. Every grocery store in south LA carries boudain. Many meat markets, and convienent stores sell hot individual links for $1.50-3.00 wrapped in aluminum foil. To me pork boudain taste very similar to a pork tamale.

  • @spitoncat Gonna have to try it. Thanks!

  • My invitation must've gotten lost in the mail. Good stuff there. I didn't see any beer tho.

  • 2:05 The PETA freaks all scream "NNNNNooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!"

  • looks good.....

  • Good Job, Making me hungy.

    john

  • how 'bout some soylent green on the side

  • People

    Eating

    Tasty

    Animals

what peta means to me people eating tasty animals

  • Cool vid dude. I lobster fish up here in Maine, I am going to try cooking some lobster this way...btw i like the animal rights comment.

  • If I ever become a vegetarian, it won't be because of my love for animals. It will be because I absolutely hate vegetables!

  • how long of cook time?

  • Thanks for the video. I always enjoy them. But...

I was raised on a crawfish farm in South Louisiana. Crawfish need not be at a rolling boil for longer than 5 minutes. Any longer and they get hard to peel. All that seasoning and a rolling boil for 5 minutes and nothing will harm you, I guarantee.

  • eat an animal

  • I should really stop watching videos of other people BBQ. I get such cravings for like BBQ stake, sausages, prawns, chicken legs, beer....Even the smell of charcoal burning gets me hungry!!

  • Dude, if you are going to make a smart ass remark about animal rights, at least be intelligent. Never heard an animal rights activist try to protect shellfish. On the other hand, I bet you'd throw up if I told you about people who eat dogs and cats. Does that make you an animal activist? Just sayin...

  • @mrmonkeyman50 PETA has spoken out against eating lobsters and they often protest "lobsterfest" celebrations up here in Maine. Mary Tyler Moore used to talk about the cruelty of cooking live shelfish. And i don't know about the guy you are replying to but if some one wants to eat cat and dog i say have at it.

  • @hermanpotato Yep, you are correct, I stand corrected. Didn't know PETA went for shellfish. However, my point (to the guy who made the video) is that if you tossed the family pet into the oven, they would be horrified.

  • @mrmonkeyman50 He's not throwing a family pet into the oven, nore do any normal people. He is just cooking dinner, which is something that PETA is against. ,Animal rights activist are typically the some of the biggest attention whores in the world and will use any opportunity they can to spread their looney hypocritical message that they can, so why is it so bad for the guy who made this vid to speak his mind through a simple off handed joke?

  • @hermanpotato Your pet can be my dinner. Dogs and cats are eaten in other cultures by "normal people". He was making a video about cooking and went ahead to pick a fight for no reason. If PETA is an attention whore, then why is Kevin giving them more attention? If this guy wants to speak his mind that's fine. But if it looks stupid and hypocritical than that's the price of talking before thinking. By the way, HE said animal rights activists YOU said PETA. They are NOT the same.

  • @mrmonkeyman50 Your argument/analogy about eating pets is pretty irrelevant and frankly it's silly to compare a craw fish to a domestcated cat or dog. He didn't pick a fight he made a joke as he placed a animal that has a about the same central nervous system of a ant into boiling water. I can't speak as to why he decided to say it but i sure as hell wouldn't want any one to feel the need to censor their beliefs out of a their own vid.

  • @hermanpotato LOL! No one is censoring HIS belief... merely pointing out he should respect others. His belief is that he can eat crawfish. But he went ahead and tried to show a moral superiority for doing so. That's what is at issue. No one would have brought up animal rights if he didn't. That's the point.

  • @mrmonkeyman50 Your right that not all animal rights activist are peta but they are the biggest and most vocal. Im sure there are more sensible animal rights activist out there, by sensible i meen smart enough to relize that animals are mean't to be eaten and that no animal has enough of a thought process to care if it is killed. These sensible animal rights activist would only care about gross abuse of animals and they wouldn't care about something as normal as cooking live shelfish.

  • @hermanpotato Animals have a thought process to care if it is being killed. Plenty of scientific evidence shows that animals have empathy for their own kind. Where do you think we humans get those characteristics from? We are animals too! I'm not saying it's wrong to eat animals, but get your facts straight. That's why killing an animal is a sacred right in cultures where the food doesn't come from a grocery store.

  • @mrmonkeyman50 Animals don't care if you kill them and eat them. I am a commercial fisherman so don't give me the self righteouse, society takes meat for granted shit, it takes hard work to get that food into a grocery store. We Americans are lucky to live in a society where people have so much food that they can spend their time telling people what not to eat. The animal rights folks who make a big deal about slaughter houses and such are the ones who are taking the grocery stores for granted.

  • @hermanpotato Wow, you are mind reader also. Science has you wrong bucko: mammals definitely show empathetic behavior. Of course, you are just an extremist, so you didn't react to what I wrote, but what you think I wrote. Thanks for catching my food, you obviously found a niche in society where you are useful. Leave the big thinking to others, though. :o) By the way, I'd look for another line of business, 'cuz we are overfishing the waters but I'm sure you know that already.

  • @mrmonkeyman50 Great animals show empathetic tendancies, i see lots of cows cry as their friends are led to the slaughter. Of course i responded to your message as i interpreted it just as you'll do with mine. i don't see that as extremist. Good job on the personal insults that is usually what a person resorts to when they lose a argument. And i see that you have alot of first hand experience on the water fishing and you know the state of Maines lobster industry better then i do.

  • @hermanpotato When you claimed you knew what animals think, erroneously as it turned out and (not coincidentally) without scientific foundation, you bought your own "abilities" into the conversation. As a result, I had to remind you that you didn't have any, in particular, since science shows you are wrong. If you happen to "fish" lobsters in Maine, congrats. There are other fishermen watching their industry die out. The majority, in fact. Hence my overfishing comments.

  • @mrmonkeyman50

    shut up you faggot.

  • @mrmonkeyman50 eating cats and dogs is nothing compared to the so called recipe I saw last week ..in fact, I'll let you continue thinking eating cats n dogs is the worst out there ...your lucky ...

  • @wideawake73 You missed my point. My point is that most people who smugly look at the camera and try to make a crack about animal rights activists would freak out if you tossed Rover into a stew. It's a level of hypocrisy that didn't need to be in the video. It was a nice video about cooking and he had to go pick a fight. Nothing Christian about that.

  • man I'm hungry now!!!!!! lol

  • to you animal rights activist people this is for you! ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha kevin god bless you man you are to funny! i love the videos!!!! keep them coming! hope you have a great dinner with your family!

  • You re eating unclean meats, craw-fish, pork, they are all unclean. Your putting your health in serious jeopardy.

  • @vassilischr I think that is why the video title says survival. if it was just a normal BBQ with friends and family he would have no excuse, but to survive, eating unclean stuff is ok. ;-) (know the rules AND how to get around them)

reminds me of the oh so christian troops in astan and iraq wearing pork eater patches. poor souls going to hell…

info: hell is, where your clothes are made of flesh and your steaks are made of leather :-)

  • relaxing next to the highway :)

  • Crawfish are pretty awesome.

  • I live in NC where can I get that saucage?

  • hes so badass i love his videos

  • deep fried turkey.....try it out its so good cook it outside just like you did with that craw

  • Monster can @ 1:57

  • Wow, that all looks good! Never heard of boudain before.

  • 2010 or 2011?
