when you showed the m16-a2/a4 the second picture was of a (1)m16-vn (2)m16-a1 (3)m4 (4)m16-a4. the difference between the a1 and a2 is that on the a2 there is a sight rail under the carry handle. the a4 has a full rail system

wow. people know. The G36 series is probably best of them all. And i only put it above the AK and the M16 because its a very high quality rifle, and very simple to use.

All of these guns dont even have more than effective range from a maximum of 400m, you might shoot a shot 1000m, but you will never hit anything beacuse you can barely see them.
@Morran09 in a typical combat how often you'll need a range of 1km? you have special sniper forces for engaging such faraway targets, super accurate sniper rifles with full size cartridges are of little use for regular infantry. what you need is acceptable accuracy, recoil and rate of fire, the compromise of which is assault rifle.
btw putting it out there, the picture of the Australian with the Steyr Aug is not actually that of the stery aug but a varient designed and used by the Australian army solely.
The most popular combat weapon systems used in military competitions that do well are STEYR AUG, L85A2 and the M16A2. Some of the other weapon systems HK36, FAMAS.... seem to be very high on the list but have actually done very poorly in competition. It would be difficult to say which on is the best, unless one individual had actually used them all.

Oh, I'm sorry Dudehammer but you're wrong, the FAMAS is a real good rifle. Manoeuvrability, précision, and rate of fire. Yes, I'm french, no, the FAMAS isn't the best, but you did'nt see the beginning of the video. "The list is based on rifle performance and EASE OF USE" and the FAMAS is a good compromise. You can't say that it's the worst are one of the worst after all the studies that was made on it. For your information, you should know that the best is the AK-47 and the worst is the M16-A1.
How can the AK47 be the best since even the USSR replaced it in the fifties with the AKM? The original ak47 was made in small quantities and most are just copies of it. Since USSR/Russia stuck to the AKM and it's 5.45 version the AK74. And nowadays they have even newer models which I believe are much much better than the original 47.
Sorry for semi-trolling but if guns are evaluated for their performance and not the legacy I'd say the best AK would be a high end variant. Defnot 47.

Obviously, the modern variants of the AK are probably better but not made in 1947. It's like the MG-34 (or perhaps the MG-42) that is consider as the best machine gun ever made. That's due to their technologies that are very advanced for their own time. It's not really the topic of the video but don't forget the AK-47 is the most uses assault rifle (weapon?) in the world.

@kirbyroxy the M16 is to heavy to be first the m4 isn't made well enough and the AK is an out standing gun but your just covering the basics the AK, m4, and m16 are good rifles but lets face it the TAR-21 the P90, the HK45 these guns are our future and what most SF guys are using now... if you can go shorter with equal or greater distance than the M4 is going to be the next M14........

AK 47 is indeed the best assault rifle there is(one shot and you are dead), and it is in this video, only the russian version which is AK 107 with a better grip but shorter and thinner barrel. The AK 200 which is the new standard issue for russian armies is, I have heard, the best weapon but I have yet to fire it

And your comment about "one shot and you are dead" applies to all of these weapons (in the hands of a trained soldier of course). I have fired both an ak47 as well as an ar15 many times and there is no doubt in my mind that the ar15 is the superior rifle.
@jbandkg100 No way man! I have shot most of these assault rifles and I have actually used animal targets(hunting) with these rifles. The AK has a lot of kick but I assume that in a war situation its rate of fire and its powerful impact bullets will cause heavy damage and you can pretty much blind fire with this amazing weapon. by 'one shot and you're dead' I was referring to the animals(mostly deer) that I have shot with these weapons and most of them do not go down by one shot from long range.

Not to mention the 5.56 is just an all-around better round. My vote is m16. I like Ak's too but the m16 has been kicking it's ass for over 40 years in in every combat situation. When you talk about the m16 i assume you are talking about the the A1,A2 and A4 versions because those three simply aren't good enough which is why the U.S military is replacing them with the M4A1. i'll admit that it is a stable weapon but it is so big that you actually have trouble maneuvering it and its round is no where nearly as damaging as the AK's. What I meant by blind fire is aim at your target and then blind fire and you are guaranteed to hit it

@jbandkg100 Yes but that the a2 and a4 versions are the ones that are more widely used and standard issue in the U.S army and the A4 version is replacing it now which is a in itself a different rifle entirely. Also, yes the 7.62 round has more power than the 5.56, it is tested, because the cartridge case is longer in 5.56. The AK's round was actuallyy shortened from 7.92x56 to 7.92x39 because its power was deemed unnecessary in most war situations. And what I meant was that you can aim at you

The best soldiers in teh world aka French Foreign Legion uses the FAMAS, guess why? Its easy to use, extremly accurate and a very good weapon.

@hawkeye195 Because the M16A2 service rifle is an amazing rifle for a lot of people personally I think its the worst POS made but hey that's not my call and the AK was in there.... just the Russian model, but the M16 is worthy of top ten but should have been number ten, but then again I didn't see the P90 or the SCAR in this video either im surprised they had the TAR-21 in here.... just saying

@kirbyroxy the M16 is to heavy to be first the m4 isn't made well enough and the AK is an out standing gun but your just covering the basics the AK, m4, and m16 are good rifles but lets face it the TAR-21 the P90, the HK45 these guns are our future and what most SF guys are using now... if you can go shorter with equal or greater distance than the M4 is going to be the next M14........

AK 47 is indeed the best assault rifle there is(one shot and you are dead), and it is in this video, only the russian version which is AK 107 with a better grip but shorter and thinner barrel. The AK 200 which is the new standard issue for russian armies is, I have heard, the best weapon but I have yet to fire it

@hustler2406 I was reffering to his comment about why the m16 is in the video. I don't, however, agree that the ak47 is the "best assault rifle out there". What are you basing your opinion on? And your comment about "one shot and you are dead" applies to all of these weapons (in the hands of a trained soldier of course). I have fired both an ak47 as well as an ar15 many times and there is no doubt in my mind that the ar15 is the superior rifle.

@jbandkg100 No way man! I have shot most of these assault rifles and I have actually used animal targets(hunting) with these rifles. The AK has a lot of kick but I assume that in a war situation its rate of fire and its powerful impact bullets will cause heavy damage and you can pretty much blind fire with this amazing weapon. by 'one shot and you're dead' I was referring to the animals(mostly deer) that I have shot with these weapons and most of them do not go down by one shot from long range.

Not to mention the 5.56 is just an all-around better round. My vote is m16. I like Ak's too but the m16 has been kicking it's ass for over 40 years in in every combat situation. (Its a broad statement but its true)

When you talk about the m16 i assume you are talking about the the A1,A2 and A4 versions because those three simply aren't good enough which is why the U.S military is replacing them with the M4A1. i'll admit that it is a stable weapon but it is so big that you actually have trouble maneuvering it and its round is no where nearly as damaging as the AK's. What I meant by blind fire is aim at your target and then blind fire and you are guaranteed to hit it

ITS THE SAME RECEIVER! The new advancements have allowed for a much shorter rifle but it is the same weapon! Also you cannnot seriously tell me that a 7.62x39 has more stopping power than a 5.56. Yes, the 7.62 is a much heavier round and will create a larger impact on the target, but the 5.56 tumbles and rips

@jbandkg100 Yes but that the a2 and a4 versions are the ones that are more widely used and standard issue in the U.S army and the A4 version is replacing it now which is a in itself a different rifle entirely. Also, yes the 7.62 round has more power than the 5.56, it is tested, because the cartridge case is longer in 5.56. The AK's round was actuallyy shortened from 7.92x56 to 7.92x39 because its power was deemed unnecessary in most war situations. And what I meant was that you can aim at you
