  • this really helped (; thx, but i ont know what glue to use.

  • I recently went and purchased the Broadway Petite's you mentioned. They are the ONLY nails that I've ever purchased that fit anywhere near my actual nail size! Thank you so much for making this video! Do the flexible nails that you mention come in similar sizes to the Broadway Petites? By the way, for me 7 days is plenty. By the time the 2 weeks is up and the acrylics have grown out, I'm dang near ready to rip them off anyway:)

  • This was made on my birthday:)

  • wow your natural nails look amazing...

  • I used nailine, now my fingernails look like they are acrylics

  • emilynoel83- what brand of nail glue do you find the best? i find some of them really aren't that strong and others are...

  • you are amazing! thank you so much for your help!!

  • (:i have so natural everyday french by nailene for first day of school

  • Very helpful video I love the glue on nails

  • love the nails did them for my prom and they were perfect

  • what about taking a shower? D:

  • i was watching this with my nail brand right infront of me . i was thinking you were gonna say the nailene natural was bad but it was right infront of me and thats what u were using. so happy <3

  • I like her make up :) is she really an anchor woman?

  • you sound like an anchorwoman. are you an anchorwoman?

  • @shuggi21 she is a anchorwoman :)

  • I have prom coming up and I am definitely considering these. I have naturally long nails, they just grow like crazy, but I love the white polished look. Of course, I don't think these will fly when I go to trade school. Yah, working as an Automotive Service Technician, I would think that they would pop off in a few hours. :) darn. But they would be really cute for special occasions.

  • @emilynoel83

hi~ i wanted to know what color did u used before applying the strips?

  • Ohhh u r soo pretty I love ur hair too :D

  • @justforfun474 yes u can paint them and take it off it coma of easily

  • ok im wondering if you can paint your fake nails and still remove the polish?how long do you have to wait also!? can you do this by yourself or do you need some one to help?

  • ok im wondering if you can paint your fake nails and still remove the polish?

  • if you want to make sure your nails dont pop off at inconvenient moments after you apply the lotion and push back your cuticles you should wash your hands (dry them) and file the shine off your nail it helps the glue really stick to your nail and let them last the full 5-7days. thnx for the brand recommendations im deff an acrylic girl im a lil rough with my fingers and need a really sturdy nail but i love using glue on's for going out =]

  • Do you recommend using the glue that comes with the glue or to purchase another super glue to make the nails last longer

  • very informative. thanks for sharing.

  • I love the Broadway for petite nails they work great

  • Very nice and informative :-)

  • thanks so much for making this video. it was really insightful, helpful, and comprehensive. i'm going to go buy my first kit!! i'm delighted I saw your video on youtube!!

  • she sounds like a news caster

  • @bunnyu94 she is

  • @bunnyu94 I agree

  • @bunnyu94 :

LOL! I was thinking the same thing!! She's pretty,too...

  • Your so beautiful! I loved this vid, I use Kiss nails when I'm too busy to get my nails done. They work great, but in Canada they aren't $5 (I wish) lol. They're $11.99. Not too bad considering the quality. But thanks for making this vid!

  • I'm excited to learn about this especially because I have flat nails. I hardly want to go to get my nails done at the salon. Thanks I will try this tomorrow.

  • I am on my second set of glue-ons. I started with the exact Nailene brand you used and while I did love them a lot I did notice tip wear which irritated me a little. I just put on a set of Kiss Everlasting French tonight and am loving the very natural look of them! A BIG TIP: when soaking off the nails, use a harsh grit file and file off the top shiny layer of the fake nail before soaking, this will save you tons of time and effort as the nail will begin to soak up the acetone right away!

  • When I use the glue ons I always get like a bubbly kind of glue look under the nail. I was wondering if you could tell me how to avoid this? Thanks so much. By the way, great video!

  • This week is my first time trying this kind of nail application. I wanted to use them because my natural nails curl really badly and I want to train them to grow out w/the glue on nails. So I cut my nails down as close to the skin as possible and applied the nail kit. I purchased the "Nailene" and the "Kiss custom fit" I'm wearing the Nailene right now. Because I am taking guitar lessons I had to trim my nails below the white tip. Every one thinks they are mine. 9 days so far.

  • I use vaseline intensive care and it's v. good.. it keeps my nails strong all the time although Im abusing them by my nail designs :)

  • damn she talks to long i just wanted to see how someone does it a differnt way than i do.....HER VOICE IS FRIEKIN ANNOYIN

  • @omg123123lol

She has a sharp voice, but the main problem is that she talks so fast.. so the sharp voice is heard all the time with no pauses or silent moments!

  • But this is the way she is created so dont blame her for that!!

  • I've had nothing but bad results with acrylic nails at salons, and they look bulky and hideously fake! I only use the cheap glue on kits, they look more natural to me, thinner, and I don't get injured like with acrylic nails. They also don't injure your wallet as much lol

  • outstanding review! you explained in great detail the pros and cons of gluing and applying. again outstanding video!!!!!

  • Could do a video about brands you didn't like? I'd like to know which to avoid. Thanks :)

  • what happens if you keep it on longer than 7 days?

  • glue on nails arent worst then getting them done at a nail salon, in fact you can get worst outcomes going to nail salons. The most important is when taking them off to soak them very well before taking them off

  • Thanks so much for the tut! I learned a lot. :)

  • i love ur nails they look like u got them done

  • i am new at watching these videos and I real enjoyed this one. I have been wearing acrylic and gel nails now for over 30 years. My nails have taken a beating. Today I purchased and tried the glue on nails for the first time and they look great. Let's see how long they last. Thank you.

  • thanks! im new to your channel. really informative video on nails, i usually wanted to wear glue on nails just for a day or two. so this is very informative. definately will try it.

  • can you do a toturial on ur eyes so beautiful!

  • which one is beter and healthier, glue on nails or acrylic gel nails?

  • @Diamond1988ful there both healthy si it doesnt matter what one u use

  • if you go in the pool with press on nails, are they going to come off?

  • @Jessptcutie no they dont come off

  • Where can i buy Nailene So Natural Chip Proof Nails? I cant find them at walgreens or walmart! Help! Thanks!

  • Love your vids! So informative !! Thank u

  • Im 11 and i use fingr ones i use the wierd styles :D

  • @Webkins9009 lolz cool! what kind of styles!!

  • so, I don't know if this is a funny question.. but I'm assuming the nails aren't re-useable? haha

  • @sillyn3ss well, i have used some glue-on nails bfore, and i have re-used them.

what u could do is soak your artificial nails and your natural nail with acetone-based polish remover so that all the glue comes off, then if you have enough glue left, u can re-apply them ! :D

  • @Kiwifreak2369 thanks for the tip! haha, I realized that I can't stand glue-on nails and I recently tried acryllic nails for the first time too and the long nails are quite inconvenient.. my natural nails are all weird now lol

  • @sillyn3ss i dont really like acrylic nails, i find it best when i have glue ons, the broadway petites, are really good. i'm gong to apply them soon !

and i know, after removing long nails, they do feel so uncomfortable! :)

  • REVELON RUNWAY ARE AMAZING! I have the same ones. Im worried about hwo comfortable they are and how long tehy stay on.

  • i watched thid vid when i was not going to purchase them and now that i rewatch it i actually got one of the ones she recommended it fits so well its broadway real life petites

  • Now I really want to try these nails out. The acrylic nails are damaging my nails and made them way too thin and ugly now.

I work at a restaraunt and I have to constantly wash my hands, do you think these nails will be able to hold for one week and be durable enough?

  • ur skin so gorgeous :D

  • Does anyone know how long the last? I think she said a week but i just wanted to make sure.

  • @wendygm55 yes each box says 7 days

  • i cant beleive how good the glue ons are, looks like ill be saving money and give my acrylics a break

  • I just got some of those revlon nails. And they are nice. But I did find because I am pretty hard on my fingers the white tip chips off. I did find that a top coat over it helps though.

Great video thanks for the suggestions.

  • Thanks for this video... watching gave me the courage to try glue on nails. I bought the petite nails you featured and LOVE them! Such an affordable alternative to acrylic nails! You are fantastic!

  • I saw the regular glue on nails at the drugstore, and in the same section, they had nails that were pre-glued and are meant for one day wear. I'm sorry that I don't remember the brand name, but that seems like a great idea for a night out, and no commitment to long nails.

  • For some reason I keep getting air bubbles when I put on press on nails. Help!! I love them other than that.

  • I would probably put my tube of glue in a mini baggie if I was to put in in my bag, just in case, but great video. Just bought some glue-on nails and I'm going to put them on tonight!

  • i want to wear it everyday & take it out in eveining. Is it possible? How many days I can wear like this

  • fantastic video, thanks a lot! you answered all of my questions. keep up the good work! i love watching your videos! xoxo

  • woah i just came here and you look like sandra bullock :)

  • This video was just in time for me because i am getting some glue on nails for prom. I have never used them before so thanks alot

  • Hey!!! So after watching this I went out and bought them haha. They are amazing and very cheap haha..

    Thanka,

    Chass

  • GREAT VIDEO

  • Don't forget and leave the glue in your car on a hot day however! The little indent for keeping change, I set a tiny nail glue tube in one day, forgot it... There are pennies and dimes that will probably never come out of there now. Oops!

  • Very informative video you have the ability to explain things in a simple straightforward way. I had never considered getting this kind of nails though i've seen some pretty designs, so i feel like i can use this product successfully.

  • im sorry but talking about glue on nails for almost 16 mins is a bit much..

  • @gopeace4 read the title, it says it's "all about glue on nails." don't like, don't watch

  • Thanks for the video. Just tried some Naliene brand ones and they are so good! Easy to apply and look fantastic for special occacaions.

  • Here's a tip for you for keeping your nails clean and the tips as white as white can be!!! Use denture tablets such as Polident....pop one or two into some warm water and put your nails down into the water for about 3 minutes and then clean using an old toothbrush or nailbrush. IT'S AMAZING....TRY IT!!!!!

  • @wscott67

I stumbled upon this by having that "dirty" look you get on your knuckles and around your ankles after my "fake" tan wore off and had to find something to get that nasty look off.....it worked WONDERS for that too btw!!! It was my natural nails, I forgot to mention that but I'm sure it would work as well for the glue on nails too.

  • I think your natural nails look great too! if not even better than the fake ones

  • they do look good :o)

  • this was helpful! thanks for sharing!!

i always run into this problem with drugstore nails: they don't fit my fingers b/c my hands are small and so are my nails too. does anyone have any advice about good fake nails for people with smaller hands?

  • Very informative. Can't wait to try them out!! Love your videos...keep the Em's World coming!!!!!

  • Super helpful! Thanks Em!

  • Thank you so much for this video. I always wondered why my nails wouldn't stay on right! You're the best Emily! I've learned sooo much watching your videos!

  • Thank you so much for this video i have used most of the brands you have mentioned I don't really have a problem with putting them on it's just when one or 2 come off my hand looks awkward lol

  • With the press on nails can you do the dishes with them?

  • I did when i had them but you have to be super careful. The water and soap after a while loosens the nail up so they'll probably pop off easier. Also, if you're just "roughing-it-up" it could just pop off from being super rough

  • * tip from ex nail junkie* sizing is VERY important. proper fit and adhesion prevents air bubbles under nail. air bubbles 9 times out of 10 result in fungus growth between real nail n fake. ALSO.... if at ANY time your fingertips start to itch. immediately remove nails and refrain from use for awhile. unless you want your fingertip skin to bubble and peel. i learned the hard way and can never wear fake nails again. ive developed an allergic reaction from overuse.

  • i love your eyeshadow please do a tutorial :)

  • can u reuse the fake nails again?

  • a couple of my glue on will start to fall out in a few days...one after the other...then i rather just rip them all out...stupid nails~ and i remember i only put them on for a day or two that time too...having fall out in the middle of a wedding..not cool! haha

  • your hair looks soo nice here .

  • I bought some Nailene So Real nails in December and still haven't tried them! I might use them now I have remembered - great tutorial! Thanks :)

  • Can u put nail polish on the fake nails?

  • @carlien3 yea you can.. when the design starts to fade away i paint them over with a design or just a solid color ...u just have to give them proper time to dry and check to make sure the polish doesnt bubble on the nail if that makes sense

  • @NouNousa1 Thanks!

  • when you remove the nail polish but want to keep the fake nail on, make sure you use nail polish remover that is acetone free. Some contains acetone which can melt the fake nail

  • you are also supposed to "rough" up your nailbed so that the glue has a rough surface to adhere to.

  • the reason that those last longer is because you are takin the shine off of your nails, that is so that the glue has a rough surface to adhere to, and most people skip this step and think you can get long time wear out of just gluing them on you natural nail.

  • it is actually called the lunula.

  • u are not damaging your nails just because you are using glue, what damages your nails when it comes to acrylic nails is when they file your nails to take the shine off to apply then polymer, i am a cosmetologist, so i can tell you.

  • I'm laughing because I was putting on a set while I watched this video! :)

  • Emily: This was a really helpful tutorial. I had always wanted to try fake nails! Thanks!

  • my thumb on one hand is really wide and i find that no fake nails fit it. do you know of any brand that might sell different sized nails?

  • Thank you for this informative video =)

  • can you paint them?

  • Hi Emily- I love these too! Have you tried the Kiss French Toenails? They are AWSOME and they stay on even longer than the fingernails. My toes looked great all last summer. I like the Kiss brand because of the little tabs...much easier for application on the tiny toenails and less glue on your fingertips. When I remove them, I gently glide the cuticle stick under the nail and then just buff off the excess glue...no damage to my nails!

  • Great video. I own a nail shop and have worked there for 6 year. Dont get me wrong, I luv ur vids. However, when applyin nails, you always make the surface of your nail coarse. Meanin, you need to file your nail bed makin sure it is not "shiny" anymore. Although it is damagin to your natural nail, this helps the nail stay adhere to your natural nail. Puttin on lotion to push the cuticles back, leaves the surface of your nails to be oily, meanin the nails will not last as long as it could

  • However she says they all last a week, so I guess you really don't have to rough up your nail for the glue on types. The proof is in the pudding, so to speak.

  • I guess a week is a really long time for you, but putting on fake nails should last until the whole thing grows out. Once you glue on the nail, its not suppose to pop off in a week or two, its suppose to stay put until the whole thing grows out.

  • Yeah but the packaging says to only keep them on for 7 days. Why rough up your nails to keep them on longer?

  • Because some people want them on longer than 7 days...

  • Air bubbles are my biggest problem and I ALWAYS get them regardless of how firmly and how long I press on the nail til it sets.

Does that happen to anyone else? Any tips?

    Thanks!!

  • @kaosgirly85 Hi, When you are putting on nails, and want to avoid air bubbles, u have to put the end of the nail (where the moon is) near the cuticles, so angle it so that the moon is the only part touching the nail, and then roll the rest of the nail until the nail is flat on ur natural like. This is what emily did in the vid. However, in nail salons, we start by putting the tip of the nail on first and then roll it until the moon touches the nail.

  • Another tip is to make sure your entire nail is covered with glue, if you miss a spot with no glue, that is where the air bubble will form

  • @xMissIcyx : Thank you darling!! That is really helpful. I am always in a hurry when applying nails cuz I tend to do it only for special occasions and do it at the last minute to make sure they dont pop off as I'm getting ready. I never dedicate enough time to buff my nails and apply a nice coat of the glue evenly. I need to be more patient and I need to get me a buffer ;)

Would the 3 way or 3-step buffers work if I use the first step or two, not the shining step? I have horribly weak nails :(

  • Your very welcome. That is the downside to makin the nails stay on, is that it gets weaker. You can try just using the roughest part of the buffer block to get rid of the shinyness. Hope this helps!

  • I admit I always looked these kits at the drugstore with fear because they look very difficult to apply. Now looking your video it seems very easy and I am motivated to try them for the first time. Hope they look so pretty as yours...;-)

  • i love real life!

  • By the way, your natural nails and cuticles look so nice!!! Mine are NOT at all, which is why I use the Kiss nails to make them look nice.

  • Thanks Em! This is great. I use the Kiss Everlasting French nails in "short" for Flat nails - I find that I don't have hardly any arch to my natural nails, so the "regular" ones tend to not lay down on my nails without wanting to bend, which creates a white cracking look (yikes). So I recommend the ones I use for people with flat nails! :)

  • i LUV watching your videos....also nails, and i don't watch them much but that's cuz i'm busy watching somthing els,and i'm sorry,i'll try to watch more but thankyou! and your welcome for watching!

  • What kind/brand of press-on nails do you recomend for someone with very thin, hands and fingers and small nails? All the press on nails I've tried have been very thick and unnatural looking on my thin hands/nails :(

  • I wore some of these nails over Christmas and they are brilliant- looked lovely...BUT..after removing them ( with the recommended remover) my nails were split, rough and rather horrible, they are only now beginning to look better. I'd like to find some stick- on ones, with little double sided adhesive pads..but I can't find any anywhere ( in UK)

Emily..your eyes look gorgeous in this video

  • i love the kiss variety pack(i think its called that) because i can paint them my favorite color because they have no color and i can adjust the nail leingth because they are super long!

  • I agree - your lashes are lovely! What are they? What colors did you use on your eyelids? You look fabulous!

  • GREAT GREAT VIDEO!! :D

  • My weak peeling nails can't take them. WISH they would because they look wonderful!

But even polishing them (I use OPI and the good stuff) they peel horribly. Maybe it's the polish remover, but I pay for polishing them for MONTHS afterwards with the top layer peeling off.

The fake nail and it's glue pulls off that top layer too.

Do you have ANY tips for this problem? I regularly use Solar Oil, Utica treatment and CND cuticle remover.

  • Hi, when putting on fake nails you have to make sure the nail is coarse. By using a file, you can file until your natural nail is not "shiny" anymore. Then apply glue all over nail and apply the artificial nail. Especially when you use Solar oil it makes your natural nail beds oily. As for using polish, make sure you buff your nails with a buffer block. It looks like sand paper, but use the one that is not as coarse. This should remove any peeling. Clean nails with alcohol.

  • And then apply base coat, and then 1 or 2 layers of nail polish (no more than 2 layers) and then a top coat.

  • great tips emily! one thing i noticed is you failed to mention the fact that many of these brands offer a slightly different color choice for the pink part... you can get slightly orange tones to beige tones to pink tones and they each have their own unique # at the top of the box

  • I love it! Artificial nails are so expensive! I think I am going to try press on nails! Thank you very much!

  • did you wear glue on nails for your wedding?

Have you tried the glue on toenails?

Will you do an eyebrow tutorial (shaping/groomng/tweezing) video?

    Are you wearing fake lashes?

  • I have used the Kiss brand of toenails for vacation once. They worked great, but just require attention to detail for the small nails, hehe. They stayed on even with all the walking I did on the beach, water, etc. :) Good luck.

  • i dont know why but for some reason my glue shows through the nail

  • You're eyelashes look AWESOME in this video! :)

  • Can you do a tutorial on this look? Thanks!

  • I use the Kiss ones, they have stayed on for up to 2 months!

  • I love the nailene nails there very natural and realistic looking, your very pretty btw.

  • @BeccaLisaDee

Indeed for Nailene nails, they feel really light too !

  • and really cheap too :) in the UK there only about £7.00, elegant touch nails are nice also.

  • are you wearing lashes? if so what are they?

  • I was wondering how do they hold up to everyday stuff like doing dishes and things like that.

  • You should wear gloves for that!

  • sooo helpfull! thank you so much!

-and i love the little eyebrow wiggle you do a lot, like : ^-

    hihi -

  • Hi Emily, thanks for a great tutorial, I've never tried the glue-on nails before and can't wait to try myself. Do these glue-on nails change colors as the day passes by, for example, if you go to the pool or the beach? I've noticed whenever I get the French manicure done from the nail salon, the white part changes to yellowish color whenever I go to the pool or to the beach, was wondering if they do the same. Thanks!

  • Emily I might be applying and taking mine off the wrong way because after I stopped using the press on nails my own nails got very brittle and soft!! So now I don't use them that often only for special occasion!! Thanks

  • Thank you so much for this very helpful video!

  • A couple of months ago you suggested Nailene. I went out and tried them and now I'm hooked! Thanks for this great video!

  • Excellent review and tutorial, even though I don't use press on nails, this was a GREAT great video!!

  • omg.. this really helpful..

    thx so much :D

  • you look so pretty! this video was so helpful, thank you!

  • Thanks for this video. You always give your viewers good information on topics not widely covered by other beauty gurus. Great job again! :)

  • Can the removed nails be re-used for a second or third time?

  • I've always been apprehensive on trying drugstore nails, but I'm gonna give this a shot. I always had my nails done, but it takes so much time to go to the salon (sometimes up to 2 or 3 hours, depending on what I'm getting done to my nails!). This will save me time and money. Thanks Emily :-)

  • Very helpful. Thanks!

  • That was so helpful! Thanks so much.

  • what do you do with the nails that dont fit? throw them away?

  • did u always have nice skin? what skin products do u use?

  • thanks for sharing emily!! very helpful.

  • you look amazing in this video...even more than normal!

  • thanks so much for posting this!

  • Ciao Emily,

This is a really great video with lots of information... I loved it. Makes me want to go out right away and get some nails..haha. My nails are not naturally pretty, but these look so nice, and also look so nice on you.

Hope that you have a really great day!!

    Hugs & Kisses

    Love

    Shelley

    xXx

  • now you've gotten me really interested in trying these!! My nails are a complete annoyance where they constantly peal and break and I really want to have pretty nails. Thank you so much for this good video :-)

  • i like your general approach to make up =)

  • Em, your make-up looks absolutely flawless in this video. I'm happy that you did a tutorial on nails. My nails tend to grow pretty long, but they also chip pretty easily too (even with clear nail polish). I wish they were more sturdy because I actually do like my nails.

Do you have any recommendations on how to make nails stronger? Or do you have any recommendations on what product I can buy to help them?

    Thanks a bunch!

  • Here are two products by China Glaze you can try to help make them stronger. First is China glaze nail strengthener and growth formula. Here is the description: Fortified base coat helps thin, weak nails grow long and strong. Contains Vitamin B3 and Panthenol promotes moisture retention which prevents drying and splitting of nails.

  • Another is the calcium gel fortifier: Our special blend of Vitamin B and Wheat Protein supplies the nail with nutrients required to strengthen and protect against splitting and cracking to promote the growth of healthy, beautiful nails in just 8 weeks.

  • Calcium supplements and gelatin also helps you get strong natural nails, jello has plenty of gelatin.
