This movie reminds me the time I was living in Astoria. I used to let my boyfriend go to the bakelly to buy baket for the breakfast near the 30th Broadway station early in the morning. I remember that wonderful time in Astoria. It was one of my favorit place. BTW I wonder how is the nagging lender fine who was living in first floor in the house I lived.
oh yeah if anyones curious, the easiest way there is from the triboro bridge in manhattan- it will take u to northern blvd and u can go straight to steinway when u hit 39 or 41 street where alot of shopping goes on......lived in astoria for too long so i no this area like my ABC's
They are on 31st Street and Broadway, NOT 30th Street. Also, you need to walk east on Broadway to get to Omonia, now west, as the camera was pointing. Get the facts straight!!!
Ahh all the memories! Im currently in greece but i was born and stayed there until i was about 10-11... nothing special in comparison to greece but still i lived there for so long!
I was born in Flushing General Hospital in August of 1943, and then lived in Astoria until I was seven years old. Our address in Astoria was 33-10 33rd Street. I have so many memories of my life in Astoria until we moved to West Hempstead in 1950. Bouncing a pink rubber ball against the apartment building. And I remember our neighbors in this three story walk-up, the Woodheads. I wonder what happened to them! I love you Astoria!
Parisi makes the best italian bread. They sellout every day and on weekend mornings there's usually a line around the corner.Astoria no longer has the largest Greek population outside of Athens. That would now be in Australia.Omonia has also been around for a while and is where the cake from 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' came from. Also, Nuevo Jardin de China has across from Omonia has also been there for over 25 years and serves the best Chino-Latino. They were fusion long before it became trendy.
I lived on 43rd between 31st Ave and Broadway then on 47th and Newtown Rd. Do you remember Carlo's Pizzeria on 42nd & Bdwy? I worked there for 3 summers back in '69 through '72 doing deliveries and stuff.
i grew up in astoria and i lived on 29th street and broadway. love growing up there way back when it has changed alot since i lived there remember walkens bakery? we that was Christopher Walken's parents bakery
