2 questions:

1.) Is this an added bass overdub or the original mix through enhanced software?

2.) This was Flemming Rasmussen's last record, but who did the initial mix? I know this is might sound taboo among Metallica fans, but I think Megadeth's Rust In Peace suffered the same lack-of-bass curse...

Both are exceptional albums that pinnacle each band at the height of their creativity.

@danielexplosion james actually was the won who cut out all of jasons bass parts and watered them down until it was impossible to hear so im thinking james had a lot to do with the final mix

It's funny because all this only shows is why Jason would get buried in the mix in the first place. All he's playing are James' parts on bass.

That's all opinion, now. Personally, Newsted > Burton. His picking technique is PHENOMENAL. His solos were pretty nice, in all honesty, Cliff was just distortion and wah. I also view him as the face of Metallica.

Remember, that's just my opinion.

Newsted was maybe better than Burton on bass but And justice is the most complex album so if Burton was not died maybe he will do somehing very complex like here with Newsted.

And for me Burton was better because he played a lot of instruments very nice to and the song Orion is fucking great That's certainly Burton who composed that

with a little help by other members.
