  • Nice video. The electrochemical explanation puzzles me a bit though.

    Where is the oxygen molecule getting the electrons from in order to become oxygen ions?

    I would have thought the hydrogen molecules would have dissociated into atoms and then donated their electrons to the oxygen via the external circuit. The resulting reaction would have then been hydrogen ions forming dative covalent bonds with oxygen ions to form water.
