spoke to soon the seller sent me a faulty one touch didnt work the problem is ntrig driver firmware writes data to the xt then that data get corrupted when switching in dual boot and here is the kicker you can remove or overwrite

i just got an xt on ebay for 275 inc del + dvd rom and battery slice i know it wont be as fast as my desktop but it the best for me on a tight budget and it better then a netbook needed it for my mcse corse. i also looked at the hp 2730p which is what i really want but usa sellers on ebay dont give you a pic and wont tell you condition so didint want a tatty example where the xt i got is mint :)

u sure the xt dont have the dlv it look to me like it does

@laurencepeel Yeah I was going to say the same, im 99 percent positive the xt is the DLV model, hence it also being brighter. Google search "gottabemobile dell xt led dlv head to head". It clearly shows the DLV has a gap also. LED screen FTW.

Try using Firefox. It runs much smoother on the Apple site.

Thanks a mil for this great review. It has been the best I've seen so for in comparing the two.

both of these units come with a choice of 220cd/m2 or 400cd/m2. your XT has the 400, and the XT2 has the 220.

That is why the XT is brighter and the screen's a little thicker. Otherwise the XT is slightly thinner than the XT2.

Oh and the sound is alright, but it's mono, and there's only a speaker on the left side, which is why people don't like it :-)

but the xt2 dlv panel uses led so it is just as thick as the normal led screen as opposed to the dlv screen of the xt
