  • I see your work more related to existencialism than posmodernism. It's pretty modern to me.

  • This is amazing! What's your name? I wanted to quote you in my art diary as an inspiration.

  • @LoonyLovegoodx Hey there, really glad you liked it. Marcus A.T is my name

  • Brilliant! I am an art teacher and that is brilliant!

  • wow i just came across this video in my favourite i havn't watched it in 2 years. After 2 years of studying at university i finally understand what you were actually saying compared to 2 years ago when i had no idea what was happening.

and now i must say...that's a very bold and daring statement you make here.

  • ah yeah haha, i've had a few years of university as well and I've realised i could have presented my argument a bit clearer. It is indeed a bold statement, a little worrying too, if it is valid. I had scrapped a few ideas and only left myself with a few days to do this movie and it ended up that I couldn't plan what i wanted to say properly, all of the speaking parts were improvised and while i was doing that i ended up saying some stuff i didnt necessarily believe in.

  • So I think postmodern works have a very strong and enjoyable way to express ideas as they draw upon alot of what we already know about film, pop culture and everything really. I think if i had to do this movie again i would not say art would be no more if PM continues i would say postmodern art that seems to be in a shallow reference loop (family guy) is no where near as useful as something that references and presents quirky oddities in it's style but their is a development or an innovation.

  • CoOoOoL i liked it!!!

  • AMAZING.

  • that's a very good video.

i'm just beginning year 12, and visual arts is one of my main subjects that i'm focusing on.

i'm looking for inspiration, and you've helped.

and congratulations for making it to art express :) well done.

  • woow. that was really, really good.

did you get the music especially made for the video, or is it from a cd or soundtrack?

  • sure it is an art, but the subject is called "Visual Arts" for a reason.

when does it get to a point when you cross over from VISUAL art into drama, or even extension english sometimes haha, sure put a spin on post modernism, which btw is an awesome spin, but surely theres a point that was crossed years ago in hsc art.

"art is not only defined by the visual expression but also the ideas about art it portrays"

    - very true, although the subject you took is called Visual Arts.....

  • Im sorry but i cant enjoy these videos when i know they got 48+/50 in HSC "Art". I always just think to myself when i see the video section of "Art" express that its not "DramaVideo" express. I think non-animated videos are not art, but drama, and should not be entered or allowed in HSC art. I am young and its only my view, please counter this.

  • dramatic art is still art, art is not only defined by the visual expression but also the ideas about art it portrays. art is such a widely defined concept that its quite easy to present anything as art, especially in film because you have alot of freedom in the multiple visuals you can show. drama films are usually stories about human relationships but if you want to define a film as an art film then it is usually the expression or discussion of a concept to do with art.

  • dont believe just because i didnt physically create the images that it cant be proper artistic expression... it is about the ideas expressed as well as understanding that film imagery is crafted, the shot is established with colour, music, lighting and camera position. as much an artistic craft as an animation and still an artistic expression of ideas.

  • I think it is deffinatly art. Film shows a perspective and a personal interpretation of an aspect of life. Is that not what art is?

  • you people should research the term "video art" before you start pointing fingers.. just because you've never heard of it doesnt mean its not an accepted art form. people said picasso wasnt "art" but look where that got him

  • hehe

thort i knew the faces from somewhere:)

    well i like yoor movies

    they are awesome

im really into film so i like to suss out what other people get up to:)

    will definately have to subscribe:)

  • i found it very interesteing..but now more so as i studied post modernism this year in ext english.

this movie was so well done...really makes u just sit here and think for its duration:)

so well done i love it!

also..are the actors the same guys from "The last night" ext 2 movie

    cause shit they looked familiar:)

  • i just finished my hsc, and here i am on you tube searching others hsc major works

as soon as yours started up, i recognised it from the sydney art express exhibition

so nearly a year ago now i was sitting in the gallery watching your movie:)

  • I really liked that...feel inspired now.

It wasn't that it was a great movie, but parts really stood out for me.

"anything that is presented as a truth can be believed." that's good. is it your own quote? i couldn't find it through google...though i didn't try hard.

    Anyway nice...5 stars:P

  • im doing my HSC this yr and visual arts... im thinking of doing film cause im good at it lol and thats the point... its only early days but i seen ur video on art express website and all and ur work is quite unique... you remind me of Duchamp... but u didnt show up with a urinal on its side lol anyway how long did it take u to produce this film, how many did u make and what program was used to put it all together?

  • cool :) im glad you took crit well! good sport. im using imovie too. mines pretty crazy and fast paced, all about life and appropriations and the question of what art really is. so i guess mine has cheese elements ;) ahhah. anyway yeah ill post it sooner or later and give you a nudge. nice chatting :)

  • ahaha. 4 days before? damn boy. lucky you :P ahha. no in all seriousness it was alright, but yeah i found it to be too cheesy. sorry to burst your bubble ;) i love that instrumental though. good doco. what editing program did you use? i submit my art video this friday.

  • no offense intended, but i really didnt like it much. i saw it in art express and was pretty unimpressed.. you had some nice shots in there but i took it as being really cheesy and kinda over dramatic. you ripped that song off tarnation as well which i thought was just a weak attempt to make it sound "deep". im doing video for visual arts this year. i hope to kick your arse ;) hahah. but in all seriousness, well done for getting in though. :)

  • hey there! thats cool--

its quite deep-- my art teacher is really in to postmodernism so i'm really into conceptual thinking and imagining limit meanings and possibilities of art

are u doing the hsc this year?

  • wow...just wow...i didn't really get it though...

  • That is fantastic! I'm doing something similar for ext. 2 english for my hsc this year. We did the Postmodernism elective for ext. 1 and I get what you're expressing about this way of thinking. Thanks so much for posting this, I see how it would get into art express...many thanks! :)
