  • grats apple.u invented the laptop.

  • thank you for the review!

  • I think that the keyboards are retarded kind of for the ipad. But then again I guess that people care more about this if they actually paid for this. I have both the ipad dock keyboard and bluetooth keyboard and I dont ever use either of them. nut then again I cant really appreciate something that I got for free (trading)

  • great review, thank you!

  • does this bluetooth keyboard that you showed work with the itouch 4G? I want to know this before I buy it! thanks!

  • @rohanA380 yes it works for itouch 4g, ipad ipad 2 iphone all gens etc

  • Very good and helpful review. That is just what i looked for! Thanks!

  • You have really clean nails.

  • To sebags007 or whatever what type of iPad are you using 1st or 2nd gen

  • i bought the bluetooth keyboard and i noticeed that none of the top row buttons work (esc, brightness, play/pause, volume) or the arrow keys. What can i do? am i the only one with this problem?

  • Use the bluetooth keyboard with a WINGStand instead of the bluetooth keyboard dock. That way you can use it in any orientation and switch it out with your iPhone.

  • What is the item number for the Bluetooth keyboard or the actual name? Where can I purchase one?

  • I wrote my 6 pg essay on my iPads keyboard

  • Thank you for answering all my questions, great review, going with the dock for battery reasons

  • Is the iPad dock shaky

  • does the ipad keyboard thing work with PC?

  • do you need the dock for the ipad to connect with the bluetooth keyboard?

  • plus the keyboard also works with pc

  • great review !! i've got the wireless keyboard as well !!

  • thanks for this great review. I do a lot of writing on the iPad and the virtual keyboard is sometimes difficult to type on.

  • nice

  • I've heard people say that the dock + keyboard or the keyboard dock makes the ipad into a touch screen netbook.

I agree and it's just kinda funny to me.

looks like unless there's some deep rooted PC needs than you should just get a dock and an ipad because they do basically the same stuff.

(this is not a fact it's just my opinion)

  • great review! good footage

  • check out my video on how to use a bluetooth keyboard on a PC that doesnt have bluetooth on it :)

  • great review more please!!

  • What is the cost difference, I wonder. Guess I'll look into that.

  • @gene2u the BT keyboard costs $69 and the simple dock is $29, whereas the keyboard+integrated dock costs $69.

  • that was the best review that compares both keyboards (y)

  • I'm finding it very hard to sit though your reviews even though I want to learn about what your reviewing. You over explain ever detail. You are talking to adults for the most part. If we can buy an iPad and use it we can comprehend a review. Get to the point and move on. Bullet point what you want to say and get to it. You gave a long winded review and never turned the key board on and used it? If you cut out the extras you won't have to talk fast. Come on.

  • Should i get the Dock Keyboard or the Bluetooth Keyboard ? Plzzzz Answer

  • fast talker! :)

  • Great Review Man! Gettin all my information before Christmas I plan to get one :D

  • price for blue tooth +dock?

  • blah blah blah blah blah dudeeeeee go to the point, is to easy

  • I also just like a normal key board

  • How much does it cost

  • Free invites to a website called lockerz!!! send me a pm of ur email and ill send u an invite! You watch video and get points, then you get prizes!!!You can get IPADS and apple products

  • I've just started college and i'm trying to decide wether to get a Macbook Pro or an iPad. I'd be doing a lot of work with it so i assumed the Macbook would be better but after this i'm not sure. Any suggestions?

  • FANTASTIC video! just what I needed to know. Very well done!

  • i dont have a dock and am not really interested in purchasing one, so which on do you think you would suggest, and also i think it probably does but can you charge the ipad while its connected to the keyboard dock. Thanks

  • very explicit, very clear. thank you, you just helped me make up my mind. i would've loved an estimate for the average battery life of the wireless keyboard though.

  • YAY FOR ALTON BROWN SPEAK!!! lol sorry > Love him =)

i think that im gonna go with the dock+keybord, because it looks sturdy. (Unless you think that the iPad dock would be plenty sturdy and i dont haft to worry about the port getting strained???)

  • Blue tooth or the regular dock just seems great, but personally i would go out and buy this asap if apple came out with a mouse!

  • I wish I had bought an iPad and a keyboard instead of a Laptop!

  • Which one is cheaper

  • You can use the iPod touch and iPhone with the iPad keyboard dock!

  • I bought the Apple Bluetooth keyboard for my iPad cause i prefer landscape mode over portrait. But it is also compatible with my PS3 :) Id say go for the Bluetooth model keyboard.

  • it would be cool if the ipad could act as a screen with a mac setup

  • Will the wireless key board will it mess up ur iPad. Like will it put any vireos on ur iPad

  • Great review. This really helps me with a decision about what keyboard to get with my new iPad. It would be interesting to see how it works sitting in your lap. Has anyone used the bluetooth keyboard and iPad in your lap?

  • they should eventaully add mouse support for safari and stuff. they also need to come out with some kind of controller for the games. it would make it way more easy and fun to be playing with an actual controller.

  • can you play games with the arrows

  • Thank you! This helped me decide on which keyboard I should get.

  • Hey any advice I'm at a stand still with buying the keyboard dock or apple keyboard? I don't know which one to pick I really like the keyboard dock tho? I'm so confused please help which one should I buy!!!

  • Nice Review !

  • too bad, no mouse cursor interface with the ipad os.

  • @psKESEY56

That would defeat the whole purpose of the touchscreen interface.

  • @psKESEY56 well in this case

    just get a laptop ...

  • Good job, one of the better reviews

  • Could you pair with the keyboard dock, so you wouldn't need to dock it?

  • @danielstoops25 The keyboard is powered by the iPad, so no.

  • @wwwinsanelygreatmac if you had 2 of these, could u use both in safari or something

  • Nice!

  • Another thing you didn't bring up was the fact that you can use the bluetooth keyboard in landscape mode

  • @MikeyD3g yup, forgot that one

  • Great video Mike, well said and done. I enjoyed it.

  • Great vid, I was going back and forth between another bluetooth keyboard, or just the apple keyboard dock. Definitely think i'm going another bluetooth. seems much better. again great overview mike.

  • its an unfoldable laptop i dont understand

  • @undeadnow That's a good point. But with this iPad + keyboard combo you get flexibility over a laptop. If you want to just read a book or browse the web, you can have it right in your hands on a couch. You only whip out the keyboard when you need to do the occasional heavy typing. Also, an iPad + keyboard is still lighter and smaller than the average laptop. (Just buy a case that has a built in stand, don't buy that silly dock.)

  • Nice video that helped alot

  • Thanks Mike, I think I want the regular BT keyboard for use with my iphone, iPad and iMac!

  • Great review!!

  • Will the Bluetooth mice work with this? Ie. Magic mouse. Pls Respond = )

  • do you have a link for me?

  • Amazing review Mike! Might pick up a Keyboard dock for my Ipad sometime down the road.

  • Ahhh right i get ya,I was just wondering as to weather it was a switch or some sort of keyboard shortcut,Thank's for getting back to me on that,as i may be getting one for my iphone when the 4.0 come's out soon :)

  • @pimpyouriphone3g yeah, if I wasn't clear the keyboard itself has a power button. Still may want to turn of BT on iPad to save juice, but that's a separate task.

  • @wwwinsanelygreatmac wouldn't it be easier if bought yourself a case for the ipad instead of the dock?

  • @CookieMonsterPL That's what I usually do, but sometimes I just like a real keyboard.

  • @wwwinsanelygreatmac thats not what i meant, all im saying is use the real keyboard but use a case instead of the dock...

  • Excellent overview! Not sure the dock is a really necessary product, because most of the cases for the iPad I've seen actually stand straight up. So in a way you could easily use that. I know the Incase Convertible Book Jacket is an excellent product for that. I've been trying to get my hands on one, but they are backordered.

  • @kdp8791 yup. Like I said the BT keyboard gives more versatility. If you want to have it upright in the dock, great, if not, leave it behind.

  • Hey mike great video, loved every minute of it,very detailed for sure, just one quick question though,Doe's the Bluetooth Keyboard have the option to be turned off say when you have it in a laptop bag so the button's are not being pressed in transport ?

  • @pimpyouriphone3g Yeah, Apple keyboard has a power button. I mentioned you'd want to turn it off in transport.
