This sounds a bit like a bird that's been singing in my garden for several weeks and driving me mad. I posted a clip as a response "Strange Chiffchaff". Any thoughts?
Its actually spelt Potteric Carr and its in Doncaster, being only 2 miles from the town centre, incredible that a reserve so close to town has had over 100 breeding species. Great video btw.
These birds have only been identified as a distinct species in the last few years. I do not know what the present distribution is but it is found mainly in Spain and Portugal and there is a small population in south-western France. In North Africa a small population occurs in the north of Morocco in the eastern Rif montains areas. No studies have yet been carried out to evaluate the status of the Moroccan population.
I am sat in my garden now in Bessacarr listening to Chiffchaffs. About a mile as the crow flies from Potteric Carr. Always got Chiffchaffs here.

Where in the Iberian peninsula would the Chiffchaff be found? Huelva, I'm supposing?
