  • king of queens = best show ever, pay the people so it can come back on

  • oky.......they have there point.....but what about all the people from other countries that dont have the possibility to see it on tv.......because the televisions dont have money to buy the series............what are they supposed to do if they love the series and wanna see them........i understand both sides!!!!!!!!!!

  • the point some of them are trying to make is that you CAN download it of the internet legally, through sponsored pages. Then the writers and all the rest get paid for it!!

  • GO WGA!! (Hope the bloody idiots that doesn't want to pay you for the amazing talents you have will realize what you're worth!)

  • Thanks for not watching online until writers and actors get paid for the internet.

  • lulz

  • michiganlooser- you're a talentless looser!

  • Who said they don't want to work? they love what they do. they are just trying to get what they deserve for their work.

  • enferes-your free cause no one wants to pay you for your worthless crap!

  • MLMA TV TRAILER..GET READY!!!

  • Tell SAG & AFTRA how they can help - for instance, parking!? Hours? Thanks =)

  • This is my favorite log, Day 2!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks Sean!!!

  • Your comment is assinine, really.

  • How exactly are the networks making money from the internet? And why exactly should the writers benefit?

Maybe they should quit writing and become producers or distributors.

These people are self-important union goons, they will lose this ridiculous fight.

  • blckrubber- for example if you watch "Desparate Housewive" online they'll play around six commercials and lable that "promotional" while they make millions off the ads. They are not paying actors or writers for re-use of the materials.

  • Here is why the writers will ultimately lose this fight.

Writers are employees. They get paid when a show does well, or when a show fails.

On the other hand, studios take a huge risk on each new project, so they deserve the rewards when a show takes off.

Sorry you guys are too blinded by self-importance to see things clearly.

  • Define necessity. The writers affect more than you realize. It's amazing how you can trivialize what you don't understand.

Every time you watch TV or a movie or a commercial - It is all thanks to a writer. It is a very hard job.

  • We're proud to support the strike. They give us what what we want. They should be paid fairly for their work. Without the writers, there is nothing. It's extraordinarily hard work.

  • Dude,if people did that, where would the middle class be.

  • GOOD FOR YOU GUYS! those suits who just take in the money need to be put in their place! writers are completely taken for granted! FIGHT UNTIL YOU WIN!!!

  • dad is a sound engineer and now out of a job because the networks dont realize the without the writers they dont have TV shows to sell!

    GO WGA

    - future member of WGA

  • It's great that there are actors out there supporting the writers. That's fantastic! Keep it up. :D

  • Ooh, great idea. Let's get those approval ratings down to single digits...

Ann Coulter. Hmm, I wonder if she kisses her mother with that mouth? Tasty. Always a gentle ray of sunshine, that one is...

"Allow the businesses to set their price." Wow, how naive. The "businesses" already HAVE "set their price"! They refuse to pay ANYTHING to the writers for their new media content. Dunno 'bout you, Ohio, but when I work, I expect to be paid. Well, so do the writers. That's why they're striking.

  • scabs write for fox news

  • Reality TV "writing" isn't the issue here. The real issue is New Media and if writers will be paid for their work there.

Copywriting is writing for commerce, not writing for an artistic form, such as scriptwriting. It's a different style of writing with its own payment structure. (see Apples v. Oranges)

  • (Part Two)

Yes, those folks are all important, but face it, without a script, there IS no production. Not only are the writers underpaid by the studios, they're undervalued as well.

All the writers want is to be paid fairly. They're not gonna quit, but they are gonna stand up for what's right.

  • Because copywriters don't actually create their product, screenwriters do. Duh.

  • without the writers... the gaffers, the wardrobe people & caterers wouldnt have a job in the first place.

  • Any place I could join up in NYC? I heard you were picketing at 30 the other day...are they still doing that?

  • this are normal people fighting for their fair share! Go WGA!

  • your missing the point as well. the future of tv is the internet. as years go by, people will be watching their favorite shows online instead of on tv. tv's will be more intergrated with the internet. they're taking a stand now, so in the future they won't have to. and besides all unions have their pros and cons, your just trying to discredit the cause by going around the cause itself.

  • There is so much inaccuracy in this comment, it's as if someone who is 27 and is still in college wrote it.

  • I suppose I should clarify that I'm not replying to DancyRobot. The most hilarious comment was the "grad school" comment. For example, Jeff Zucker did apply for law school. He wasn't accepted. The degree necessary for him to be President & CEO of NBC Universal? A B.A. in American History. "Grad school." ROFL!

  • JustinBrooks,

You clearly don't work in the industry. Most studio heads have not gone "to grad school and beyond." Many of them were assistants who Peter Principled their way up the corporate ladder. Most of them lack specific skills that qualify them to run a studio. Fact. Do some research if you want.

If you said something this stupid in my presence, I would probably smack you in the mouth.

Go read "Atlas Shrugged" again, you ill-informed corporate buttboy.

  • i guess you don't realize that 80% of the income for writers comes from repeats (or internet streams). it makes perfect sense for them to strike.

  • Why should they? No one is stopping those employees from forming a union and participating in collective bargaining to get higher wages and better benefits...oh wait. Except for maybe Charbucks' management... >:-[

Morph, the only people making "big" money in entertainment are the heads of the studios and the corporations that own them. How about throwing some of that vitriol where it's warranted?

  • you need to look up the information on what this strike is about before you say such things. It's very important to the entire industry that the writers don't let up on this one. Some fights just need to be fought

  • morph miss the point completly. and hj, the reason why verdure did'nt comment on the starbucks topic is because it was off topic. the issue is that the networks are cheating the writers out of diserved income by calling these web replays "promos" even though the you can view the entire episode online.

  • DancyRobot - Although the repetition of certain phrases in the comment should have indicated my reply was to Morph and not Verdure, I will explicitly state my reply was to Morph and not Verdure by repeating a phrase. My reply was to Morph and not Verdure.

  • nicely stated. you sentence was well stated. you stated your statement very well. well stated statement stated.

  • I'm marching for you in front of my computer in Augusta, GA! You're fighting the good fight and HOPEFULLY good will prevail in the end :)

  • I SUPPORT YOU, WGA!!

  • Greedy network producers; these writers not asking for too much....

  • Nice to see the solidarity. I Hope the writers get what they're asking for. Keep up the good fight!

  • This pro songwriter is behind you all the way 100%!

Rock on fellow writers, rock on!~!!

  • GO WGA! I'm not a member yet, but I'm working on it. (Those guys at 4:04 are actually my agents! How cool is that? I feel mighty proud.) I will be out there marching with you tomorrow. You are all an inspiration and YOU ROCK!!!

  • We look forward to see you on the line.

  • If I lived in LA, I'd join a picket line with my "COUCH POTATOES SUPPORT THE WGA" sign.

Good luck, guys, and stay strong. (Oh, and my inner 12-year-old-heart went pitter-pat at the sight of Shaun Cassidy again after all these years!)

  • Thank you all for your support and if any of you do live in the LA area feel free to come down and march with us. We welcome all the support we can get.

  • GO WGA!!...man I wish those were my agents.

  • behind you guys all the way - if only the public could make the important decisions

  • Awesome job guys! Its funny because I think their will be like 50 of these by the time this is over lol.

Take it to 'em guys woo.

  • I love all the support they are getting

  • I am behind the writers all the way cuz if there are no writers there is no scripted tv

  • behind you guys all the way. keep it up. Moonves is the devil (and this crappy bit of writing goes to show that I cant write for TV or film... it takes talent)

  • behind them 100%. hope that this ends soon!

  • inac, which Starbucks do you work at?

  • Thank god I haven't bought a DVD since 1999.

  • Yeah, but how many shows have you watched over the net?

  • I'd put it at about 4,000.

  • Coming soon
