  • definitely want a New West Knife!

  • Just as a dry, nerdy, prickish, nitpick comment, half of 22.5 is 11.25

  • My Zwilling JA Henckels Twin knife set came with a steel rod to sharpen the knives. Do I need a different steel rod to sharpen my knives? I bought this set just a week ago. Thanks for your video.

  • @orestesdd Ive got myself two Miyabi chef knives, 9.5 and 12 inch blades, now theyre giving me hell. I cant sharpen them with a steel, and whetstones are hard to find in my country. Effing dilemma over here.

  • @zohanthecspro

wet dry sand paper on a hard flat surface will work fine. if you want a convex edge, a softer backing will work fine aswell. depending on the grits available to you, a jump from 2000 or 4000grit sandpaper to newspaper stropping will easily give you a face shaving edge.

  • @orestesdd you may have already found the answer but the steel rod that your set came with is called a "honing steel" and what it basically does is it straightens out the blade which goes out of line from daily use (you can do this before every use). All knives need to eventually be sharped. You can either send it out, use a wet stone, or something similar to the product that this guy showed. Good luck!!!

youtube Good Eats Moment - Happines is a Sharp Knife for a great explanation
