This is all about Islam. The Koran says to war against non beleivers if "infidels" refuse to convert. It also says to treat them "infidels" like second class citizens and cut off their arms and legs. Well in short: Their has always been a struggle for ressources between african clans and arab nomads in the region of Darfur. The non-muslim population of african decent has been discriminated by the sudanese government which pushed for an Arabicization. In 2003 2 resistance groups were founded to fight the government. In reaction the president launched a large military campaign against non-arab people in Darfur.
