Looks great but in the riding sequences just a steady still shot would have nailed it... don't pan, don't zoom, just let the action flow through the frame, especially with how amazing the sun was lighting the frame and the wonderful liquid look of the asphalt. Looked really good though.
@jeffsbailey Yes but this is my first movie with HV40, without any tripod. I just try making atmopspheric scenes and training color correction basics. Please watch my other bikes movies:
@TheBinoyVudi This movie is my first when I use any camera and I use HV40 for today. Picture quality is very good for this price camera but I like add color correction/grading to my pictures.
Now i use photo button trick to use camera with no gain in low light situation and picture is very cinematic. I don't have problems with miniDV casettes.
Anyway I have also Canon 550D/T2i for DOF pictures, because DSLR's like 550D make this much better than my HV40.
@ivankillz36 Sorry but I never used Mac computers :\ If You have HDV (tapes) cameras, You always need firewire for capture video from your camera to computer
To ujęcie oraz ujecie pozniejsze w zwolnionym tempie i koncowke nagrywal moj znajomy bez doswiadczenia, bo ja jechałem motocyklem. To bylo takie nasze nagranie jako test kamery bez konkretnego celu. W domu przy montazu spodobalo mi sie to ujecie i dogralem na podworku ujecia bliskie motocykli.
Awesome! looks really great.... wat was ur camera settings? I shot a similar video(pls check my videos) but they aren't as sharp and clear as yours. pls help.
@smkelly77 Yeah just play with the colour correction, a simple search on youtube will bring up many tutorials Look for one by "Film Riot" they have a pretty good tutorial.
Very nice video. The first 30 seconds looks like a misson impossible look. Where did you buy your camera nad how much?. Im just hesitant cause of all the bait and switch reports about many websites.
For the cinematic look, try use sony vegas "color corrector" plugin like first plugin, and set saturation to -50%, and next change middle and high colours to little blue (or another if You want) tones. If You need try use little gain and offset with this plugin. Next add "brightness&contrast" plugin and set contrast for good looking. This is the basic settings for cinematic looking.
@acidus404 Hi do you know if there is a way to make regular video look like 35mm video in Vagas? Because I have a Flip Ultra HD Cheap camera and I cant put a 35mm on it.
I use "cinemode", standard HD (HDV25), without color filters from camera. I'm the rider of black CBR and this shoots made by my friend. I filmed all of scenes without my riding. Filmed without Flycam etc.
Nah, people just don't know how to use technology. It's all about the right color correcting, super 35ing, rendering and overall editing. I use an HV40 and this video isn't surprising at all to me.
the best movie with the HV40 so far here on youtube

s it true that HDV is on the way out?
I always poreferred HDV quality over any flash memory quality.. I mean just look at it, even without editing, i think it looks absolutely great.
Do you recommend me going for an HDV at this point? How many years will it stay ahead of flash and other digital format cameras?

@jameshart456 With firewire cable
acidus404 9 months ago
@acidus404 So from the HV40, you must transfer with firewire or will a USB do? My PC doesn't have firewire capability.
CALICOTV301 8 months ago
@CALICOTV301 You can do it only with firewire cable. You must buy Firewire controler card (PCI) for Your PC
