Hi 7skies, do you ever master anything yourself or do you always send the tracks to be mastered at a studio with the consoles and everything?

Funnily enough this one was quite helpful! The whole pre-master business is something that I don't know much about. Seems like cheating to use an EQ to turn the vols down to make is -6dB though? I know you're meant to keep master at 0.0dB but what difference does it make if you put an EQ on and reduce the volume that way?
