  • One of the best albums of the 80's, and most certainly the coolest. Every song evokes a different emotion, though in general the album has a brooding feel to it. Very creative work.

  • geez I thought I was the only one who really appreciated this kind of VooDoo !!

  • well ahead of everyone else !!

  • Yes, Wall of Voodoo were a brilliant band...thank God Stan Ridgway is still going! He is an amazing musician. I remember when I first heard 'Mexican Radio'...I think it was the video on MTV in America in 1983? I was 13-years-old...and I must say, already had incredible taste in music at that point because I knew upon first hearing that the band was truly exceptional; they really stood out with their sound. The entire album, 'Call of the West', is superb! I just listen to it over and over!!

  • There's an old dj at Radio Rock in Rome who still uses Wall of Woodoo as opening song. It's strange they never reached the mass success they deserved. Surely one of the best bands of the 80's - maybe the problem was that there were soo many good bands...

  • i wouldn't mind going back to 1982 just so i could hear this song for the first time...and be able to be 23 again.

  • the criticts were pretty good to this band...stan r. ridgeway is a genius singer song writer...i still have this cassette burried in my childhood momento box someplace in the garage.

  • the whole album is ... YEAH !!!

  • @ashetonpop: I don't agree at all!!

  • @ashetonpop: I don't agree at all!!

  • This dark cow punk was amazing.. Wall of Voodoo i worshipped.. I am so proud to have been a part of the music of the 80s. Nothing can ever compare. It is still ahead of its time, It was the most creative time for music so far in our lifetime

  • the drummer joe mannani is no longer alive so I don't think they would be the same

  • I used to listen to this album on an old school disc man late at night while half asleep, and every time, each song dragged me away into a world that the creativity of the words and music created. wonderful and mysterious memories

  • @sephiroth1277 - wow, i can relate

  • Fantastic stuff..These guys were so creative. surrounded us with such atmosphere of darkness...cow-punk? Right definition..But as all the good stuff, it ended too soon...and now we are drawning in silly things such lady gaga, rihanna..Where do these genius are???????

  • Damn... Come back Wall of voodoo.... I don't care who is in charge.... Just play for us one more time... Well maybe 100,000 more new songs... Then I will die Happy.... Very Happy...

  • This single, with 'Mexican Radio' on the A-side, was one of the best ever

  • You're a long way off from yippy-i-aye ! These guys are too good to describe...

  • Maybe the most creative music group in history?

  • Long live cow-punk!

  • I often hear the snick of a rifle bolt wielded by a drunken liquor store owner

  • Who rated this video down? You disgust me!

  • The ENTIRE album is good.

  • Important music is so easy and difficult as well ...

Greetings from a big WoV-Fan from Germoney - on a another lost weekend ...

  • this must be the only band where i could recognize one of their songs, even if i had never heard it before, just from the drum machine. i love it.

  • am 14 again listening to this...

  • @Tesco38

huh im 14 now listening to this lol.

  • The greatest underated band in music history!

  • whhhhaaaaaaa - great!

  • Jesus... this stuff is just so far ahead of everybody else... the fantastic, evocative imagery in the lyrics, the atmosphere and melody... I hope this gets rediscovered and recycled in a big way. These guys need to get their long-overdue props like Gary Numan did.

  • I'm always intrigued when people claim to know what real music is. sunking101 why don't you enlighten us all?

  • thats not my job! you want enlightenment? go to India. it's music, it entertains, it makes you think, its personal taste.

  • India, the poverty sass-hole where corpses float on the Ganges!

Where some enjoy obscene riches, while millions starve!

Now, there's enlightenment for you! Hitler stile...

  • You spot a pseudo-intellectual, when he wastes his time trying to impose his pedantic, bored, follow-the-herd taste on everyone else...

"turd-stile"? Talk about lack of stile AND substance!

  • His voice can be an aquired taste but it is creative music without a doubt.

  • Who says otherwise?

    I was answering to sunking101

  • I was agreeing with you.

  • Ok :)

  • Excellent! Long time since I heard this, must dig out the vinyl...

  • love it :) thanks

  • awesme song

  • I know isn't it?
