Liberalism is, like conservativism, a political approach, and liberalism these days means supporting freedom of speech. I don't object to O'Connor's actions on SNL, which were within FCC guidlines. However, this conservative position that controversial statements ought to be kept off of television is so narrow when we have Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity spewing anger on a regular schedule. When they hark that controversial (and usually liberal) ideas are dangerous, are they not hypocrites?
