I have an Ipod touch 3GS that is running 3.1.3 and is jailbroken. I haven't used it in a while, so I haven't updated any software since then. Is it possible to upgrade to a newer firmware without updating to the newest firmware? Since I never updated past 3.1.3, I don't have any SHSH blobs; is it even possible to "restore" to 4.0.1 if I never had it installed in the first place?

If you have problem finding how to move the files from windows to mac,

and you dont want to mess with settings etc, just copy the files to a usb flash disk,

and then unplug and replug the usb into the computer. After that go on mac, and click

the finder button. the flash disk should appear there. hope that helps

You didn't run PwnageTool on Windows. You ran PwnageTool in Mac, through a virtual machine, running on Windows, which I suppose some may call running on Windows, but it is not technically running it on the actual Windows kernal.

You have to install 7zip first and extract all the files from within the Mac OS X Leopard.7z file

Just as the error message says, you are trying to start using the wrong file. The file that ends in ".7z" is a 7zip archive file that CONTAINS the .vmx file. You should be telling vmware to start using the ".vmx" file. Did you extract these files using the download from 7-zip DOT org? If so, then look at the directory where you extracted the .7z file into. It should contain a .vmx file.
