@GameKid98 im pretty sure he knows what hes doing dude, hes probably been playing for longer than youve been alive :P and its all about personal preference and the tone he's trying to get, maybe the passives didnt deliver the sound he wanted...

@stix471 The thing about high end passive pickups, is that it doesn't just bring a sound, it has a whole personally and atmosphere around them. They also allow you to express alot more because the signal isn't being compressed. How long he has been playing doesn't mean that he knows a lot about gear, guitar.woods and what they do etc. EMG is just taking the easy way out, it sounds good, but the whole atmospheric part if it is just a line ________________ instead of any dynamicy at all.

@SK1N1UP They have an rg7321 Lefty now, it's about as good as a K7. Try it out if you'd like, it's a pretty good price for a 7 string!

Very good! I love the sound of that guitar! I have a question for you. When you alternate pick, does your pointer finger or thumb rub against the strings at all? I can alternate pick fairly fast, but my strings rub against the strings and sometimes accidentally mute them. It's annoying.
