If I were President Bush, I would teach the 2006 Ryder Cup team a lesson by sending them to Iran to fight in the war instead of being embarrassed by the Eurotrash. The U.S. hasn't won a Ryder Cup overseas since 1993. Maybe they're afraid that Al Qaeda terrorists might hijack their plane? Now I know why golf is so elitist...look at the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup Team.
how many US golfers in the top 10 now ? one ? two ? The rest of the world are bumming the yankies and will continue to bum them. All the majors are held by non US men.
I doubt that Zinger will ever see this, but I wish...
The European players, for some years, have seemed to grasp what the Americans haven't. This competition is NOT about constructing an 18 hole medal score. Each match is a series of 18 (or fewer) contests. A triple bogey can only lose one, and a birdie putt cozied up short is an opportunity wasted. Sergio, Monty, Darren, Jose Maria, Seve, Padraig, and others know this in their gut, as apparently Tiger, Furyk, Phil, Lehman and others don't
Amazing that the Europeans can be so good in the Ryder Cup then pants at the majors. Lot of young talent coming through(or have we being saying that since the turn of the century???)
Fair point. Even Poulter looked really solid under pressure. As for Woods winning if he had played, we will never know. I reckon he would have been there or thereabouts but even he couldn't have finished as good as Harrington. I'm having a cup of tea at the moment with a big slice of humble pie!
I agree woods would have been in the mix - over four days in those conditions, he wouldn't be far away. Poulter surprised me - of the young(ish) British guys I rate Rose, Donald and Casey ahead of him. I also fancied Westwood to do well since he has been in decent form. So, shows what I know! Looking forward to the Ryder Cup. Looking at the way the teams are shaping up, its going to be pretty close again.

Expect the Americans to win this year.
Held in Louisville, pro-American crowd.
US players are doing great this year.
Harrington has tanked the last 2 weeks.
One of his open wins was more about Sergio choking again.
Plus the White Walrus, Monty wont be there this year.
GO USA!!

The pink jackets were in support of Breast Cancer Charity in memory of Darren Clarke's wife's recent death from the disease

Well, not 'pants' in The open for the last two years. But I expect you will say Harrington would not have won if woods had been in the field.
