  • esto es culpa del capitan ya que el debio haber acelerado en avante

  • Damn nature, you scary!

  • lol and this is why i fish for species that .arent. larger than my body.

  • walk it off

  • "he got a big cut" lol

  • Its only a flesh wound. LOL

  • Unfortunately, these are the dangers of chasing this magnificent sportsfish, but it is a risk we take when we fish for them. I have copped my fair share of scrapes and bruises and even a couple broken bones. Anybody who thinks that the fish was getting 'revenge' is an idiot, it was just a freak accident that occurs from time to time.

  • cheers! that dude in the visor is a beast! he just jumped in there n manhandled that sonofabitch

  • You try to kill a fish- fish defends itself.

    Jolly good show, I say!

  • Oh you pussy... Go to the bathroom, re-insert your tampon and get back out there when you're ready to be man! :D

  • @griffin66441 women handle gaping, bloody holes better than that guy lol.

  • OOOH yea,,, does anyone know where this is??

  • dumb ass idiots - message to all you crazy-ass people wrestling alligators and messing with bears and lions ....leave the wild animals the fuck alone. stay out the oceans, stay out the jungles and settle for a cup of tea and a book instead!

  • So the guy was stabbed and the douche in the yellow shirt cared more about reeling the fish in than to see what had happened to his friend?

  • I love how the guy is laying on the deck bleeding and the cameraman goes... "Oh screw it" and keeps filming the guy reeling the fish in. It's not until later that he even figures out the guy is hurt pretty bad. Haha. Wow. Some people are clueless.

  • HELL YEAH!!! Holy Jesus is right! LOL

  • and what do we learn from this? swordfish have that name for a reason -.-

  • quick emergency response by the Captain. Real pro's

  • Whoa. That's incredable, and I'm very glad he survived.

    Cracked.com sent me here.

  • guys... just calm the fuck down they werent alll like ommmmmggggg i never expected thiss omgggggg!! no... they were like oh shit i got stabbed lets go.

  • I see blood on the floor

  • thats part of game fishing, jus like other sports that men not mice do,angler looked gutted was a nice fish pity ya couldnt get a tag in it.

  • holy crap...

  • How many times does this have to happen for dumbtrucks to realise that this fish CAN and WILL kill given half a chance??????????

I have some very disturbing news for the people on that boat....YOU DIDN't catch shit! Did you get it on the boat????? You cut the line just like Vietnam! Which is just cowardice. Your fighting a killing machine what the hell did you expect? This is not a personal attack just a reality check. Next time expect the unexpected & mistakes like that cannot be made.

  • @thereisnopluto they cut the line so the fish will live.

  • Wow marlins are beautiful fish wen left alone to roam the great ocean

  • Hahaha! Fishing is cruel anyway! I'm off to go hug a tree now.

  • I catch catfish like that all the time.

  • I smell refund

  • Well, Is it a Marlin or a SWORD-fish? Hahaha.

    Marlin 1 - 0 Fat boy.

Leave them in the Ocean and they don't fuck you.

  • damn

  • It almost seems like they care more about the fish than the dude that was just stabbed. Cut the line, get the fuck out of there.

  • @1verstreate1 well what would you rather eat a big fish or a fat guy?

  • @austinmclaren Niether. I don't eat fish. xD. But I'd rather get they guy help then worry about landing the fish.

  • 300 pound? more like 100 pounds.

  • Marlin - 1 Chubby man - 0 .

  • Thats the revange of the sith...loko!

  • so who will be sued?

  • @fezzard probs macdonalds or sumthing

  • the dude in yellow doesnt give a shit, he is like "i want my fucking fish, fuck pops!"

  • where does this took place? Costa Rica? Guatemala? US?

  • @chafa00

    Guatemala

  • This video was shot on the Formally Captain Hook, now the Circle Hook. Boat was captained by Captain Ron Hamlin with deckhands eddie and sammy. This boat raises tons of bills every year but sometimes the billfish do jump in the boat considering that you are chasing them down.

  • haha score one for mother nature

  • @number1raider1993 God your grammar sucks!

It's illiterate hippies like you that cause people like me headaches whenever you type something...Learn to spell!

  • so its better for a man to be horrible injured than for a fish to die?

  • he's the tard who fished in what looks like central america or mexico... fish going psycho? really? not paying attention? maybe that was weeding out another dumbass

  • shit dude... I guess I should expect to get stabbed next time I go fishing

  • @number1raider1993

What the fuck is the relationship between your lameass morality and an accident like this, you pussy?

  • this is actually not all that uncommon..this is exactly what you can expect to happen when rich idiots go after fish they have no business going after.also..that marlin isn't any 300 lbs..maybe around 200

  • wow that fish opened a big can of whoop against you guys ,

  • was it the camera guy who got stabbed? i cant really tell

  • whats funny is the camera guy was still recording the catch instead of the accident...

  • OMGosh...this is terrible, never saw a fishing accident like that! Hope the man got okay.

  • "oh shit we have a problem",

*guys still trying to fish the marlin in*

  • OUCH!!!!

  • LOL....go marlins

  • You can have that crazy shit.

  • that fish Gotta be so anggry...

  • thats one badass way to die

  • wow i hope that man is okay

i will never get so close to a marlin anymore

  • Todays lesson?

    DON'T FUCK WITH THE FISH.

  • @juniorjunior69 hook me will you? *STAB*

  • WOW

  • did he die?

  • Yes, this was on the news. The man who was stabbed died.

  • @Starbuckscp He did not die, and it is worth noting that he was 83 years old.

  • damn

  • my lil cusins dad was fishing and he was about to pull a marlin in and the damn fish jumped and almost stabbed me in the face

  • Forget about the guy who is about to die, just get the fish...great fish man! Great fish!

  • haha lol

  • damn! pwnt! is the man ok?

  • u men mikesaprtment

  • a catfish? wtf lol its a marlin

  • Is that the guy from the porn site - "Captain Stabbin?"

  • Where exactly did it stab him, can't really tell?

  • @SSSDiaz7 in the back, 4 inches deep. just missed his lungs and spleen. I

  • damn, that sucks dude got stabbed by a marlin, and they cut the line :( damn... looked like a nice one

  • it is a marlin u complete faggot

  • a catfish? lmao dude that's fucking clever haha

  • lol that marlin was going crazyyyyyyyy and wtf pwned a human!

  • mel

  • Great job, Marlin!

  • I know your making a joke, and it is funny...but the captain on a charter boat, which they were on, calls the shots and is responsible for those people. Hence, let the mofo know we got to get outta here

  • that looked liked it hurt

  • ci godo

  • Stabby McStabberson took a stab at Captain Skipper McGee. what?

  • they call him Stabby!

  • Hah, anglers 0, marlin 1

  • lol pissed

  • owch poor lil fucker

  • Sweet mama jamba.

  • go the marlin what a mad cunt, realy nailed him.

  • 'captain we have a problem' this muppet thinks he's in apollo 11 or star trek for some reason

  • GO STAB

  • lmao. owned.

  • Mmm, guess he's never heard of backing off the drag... lol.

  • he was full on overstrike hahaha

  • pwned

  • lovely

  • we need depthcharges^^ get the bastard xD

  • Nice video guy's.

It's like inviting a 400+ pound crazy crack head on your boat with a knife.

  • shit taht happends u call for a medavac if ur far like 20 miles from land

  • he just got inniholated!

  • You would think they would cut the line before the marlin get to the boat not after the marlin kill someone on the boat.

  • i peed.... nah i'm just kidding but seriously your comment is hilarious!! thanks for making me laugh and shit

  • lmao

  • Marlin 1, man 0. hahahaha

  • a spear attached to a large angry fish will cause this kind of damage if you bring it in the boat.

  • u gotta kill marlin first before u do

  • damn that would suck to get one and then have to cut the line and it would also suck if you were the guy who got hurt mann that suckss

  • I've seen a number of videos like this on youtube. How often does it happen? It kinda makes me afraid of catching one...

  • It doesn't happen very often. It is incredible that it was caught on video as well. There are way too many factors to list here that contribute to anglers getting hurt by marlin. But 2 factors to follow include getting the fish too tired to jump in the boat by increasing fight time (not if you are in a tournament and restricted by time), & keeping the boat in forward & hand on the throttles to move if the fish jumps when leadering. Try it. The fish tries to get away, not jump in the boat.

  • E, I know what you mean. I agree, it is a good video to prevent future instances. I have also been privileged to help people catch their first marlin and get as much pleasure as you do from it. I hope you can continue learning, and fishing while providing a great time for your anglers. My largest is a 607lb Blue Marlin and it was Chris's (the angler) first Marlin and first time deep sea fishing. I also helped Lou Parker (Miss USA 1994) catch a small tuna. She takes nice pictures hahaha. Aloha :)

  • lol, i'm a model and i like fishing. i don't know, it seems like a thrill. i don't like fish though and i think this is pretty weird. i remember i wanted fishing stuff when i was a little girl and my dad didn't want to buy me what i wanted and i cried like a week. i caught only stuff who isnt bigger than like 1lbs though. :(

  • Some people don´t have the time to go fishing very often and some just couln´d affor to do it this day Mr.Longo was his 1st Marlin ever and took him 80yrs to have the chance to catch one but cost him a price, but still this video is to help to prevent future incidets like this one and NOT to Judge Mistakes or reactions whatever, I just love fishing so much and Never stop learning!!!

    Eddie Bairez

  • As other videos posted here on Youtube show: Marlin are fast unpredictable fish. It is easy to give advice after the accident about, what the Captain and crew could have done. The video shows that after the marlin turned it took 7 seconds before it hit Mr. Longo. No one could have reacted fast enough to do anything about it. Marlin Fishing is a sport for men. Not mice. I would any day go fishing with captains like Ron or Edie. Very few if any have more experience or have caught more marlin.

  • I agree that they are fast. I have caught quite a few myself in Hawaii as a deckhand. Every Captain I worked with in Hawaii doesnt allow non-fighting anglers on the back deck during the fight. I just dont understand how a Captain, backing down on a fairly large marlin on light tackle misses the frigging marlin almost jumping in the boat. What was so important at that time that occupied the Captains attention? Hes getting lazy with his success. I'm glad no one was killed, we need anglers.

  • Bottom line, light tackle or not, non-fighting anglers need to get off the back deck. Until you accept that your arguments are useless. Until the captain and crew accept it they are going to repeat it. I am glad that I have this video to show anglers the exact reason not to be on the back deck during a fight. I will play this video for anglers and use that injury on that boat as an exact example of the reason the back deck should be clear of non-fighting anglers. Do you run your boat the same?

  • Do U see any more people in the video on the tramsom?

note how old is the guy and his reaction was not quick as an younger person, note when the capt. Ron says brake it off lets go home,

an infortuit case and could happen to any one, somethings that U may need it to know before talk about somethings don´t know about

  • Those other people not at the transom knew to stay out of the way, the 82 YO guy didnt. He should have been informed by the Captain and crew. The crew didn't warn the angler, & the Captain allowed them on the back deck. Both of them should have been more attentive. The crew should have warned him and the Captain should run a tighter ship. Only a damaged boat would have resulted if you prevented them from being on the back deck during a fight. Now, the 82 Yo man has to suffer for their sloppiness

  • |Hey alongdriver seems like U are an expert ha,, 1. the injury guy an 82 yrs old was actually the one who caught the marlin 2. the guy who fighting the fish on the video is his son and there were 5 cotumers that day 3. we hooked the fish on 30lb. line and hi got the Release in 5 min. but we wanted to taggem but after 20 min. he gived the rod to his son and wen the fish was jumping he wanted to see his fish, note on sec. 37-38 when Sammy duck just a sec, before the fish fly over his head

  • 82 YO guy started and got tired. He should have been on the bridge taking pics, not on the back deck. They got away with allowing customers on the back deck for a while, but look what happened. An 82 YO guy almost killed because the Captain and crew couldn't foresee (lack of wisdom) an injury. Do they still allow anglers that are not fighting the fish on the back deck? I hope they learned their lesson, but it doesn't take an expert to guess an injury was possible. Yeah, I noticed Sammy ducked.

  • Mistake #1, letting anglers on the back deck during a fight; #2 Captain not watching the action behind the boat when the fish is almost at leader; #3 Did he really need to continue backing down on a "green" marlin that was only 20 yards away? Let the angler fight the fish, that's what they paid for. The hurry to tag/release the fish (#1 and #2 above) led to an angler's injury. #4, uploading a video showing evidence on a sloppy technique for tag/releasing 1 of nature's most powerful game fish.

  • Actually, the boat was backing down on the fish. You can see the waves splashing off the transom. Watch the water & you can see the boat in reverse running over the fish's splashes. That is one reason why he couldn't get the boat out of the way. Injury at .40 & the captain doesn't know about it until 1.07. He didn't even know the fish tried to jump in the boat. He should have asked at .45 if anyone was hurt. He never screamed "is everyone ok?" Simply, this shows he wasn't watching the back deck.

  • O.K, i will give to capt. Ron Hamlin your e-mail adress, maybe he can learn something from you after releassed 20,000 billfish and counting, ja ja ja ja

  • Sounds like a good idea. I can ask him why he didn't gun the throttles when the marlin turned towards the boat. You'd think that with that many billfish releases he would know better, but maybe he just got lazy. Too bad his customer had to suffer.

  • Correction. The boat could either be in neutral (not the best idea when fighting marlin) or in forward, but the engines at idle (a better idea) giving the boat a slight forward motion. This gives the chance 4 the captain to push the throttles forward to get the boat moving & out of the way. Why didn't the crew yell "forward" when the fish turned? The captain wasn't watching the back deck at that crucial moment & the crew didn't warn him, he just ducked knowing anglers were on the back deck. CYOA

  • It doesn't matter who the captain is. Exhaust only means the engines are running, and in neutral. I didn't hear the captain gun the throttles when the fish turned towards the boat. There is no wake behind the boat (it means the boat is not moving forward). Who am I? An ex-deckhand from Hawaii that never had an injured customer/angler, That's who! Does the captain still own the boat? I would own it after the lawsuit. Put the customers in the cabin or allow them on the bridge next time. Too late.

  • hey ALONGDRIVER:

did you have any idea who is the capitain?

well, is RON HAMLIN, the mate with the tag stick is SAMMY BAIRES and the firts mate is EDDIE BAIRES aboard of the CAPTAIN HOOK in Iztapa, marina pez vela in Guatemala,

can you check the second Num. 33 in the video?

i see water coming out of the starboard exhaust, so that mean the boat is moving foward, i gave you the info you need, now who you are? did you are a sport fishing captain?

  • And that would be the exact reason to have only the crew member on the back deck with the angler. As soon as you saw the fish turn towards the boat the captain should have gunned the throttles. WTF was the crew member doing letting everyone on the back deck and in harm's way. You should have already been aware that Marlin's jump and sometimes land in the boat. What is your boat name and location so I know not to charter your boat?

  • Good thing it happened to a yankee.

  • Marlin 1 Fishermen 0

  • What a coincidence. I took 14 bullets to the leg, and was stabbed 22 times in the head, plus I sprained my ankle.

  • welll i broke my ankle sprained mty wrist went blind was shot in the leg 14 time and stab in the 22 times...........wow

  • stabed in the head

  • i once got a paper cut

  • I had a dog bite the tip of my weiner after having sex with my girlfriend and it bled for awhile, plus I stubbed my toe.

  • Let me guess? You placed the Uzi in your pants and forgot to put the safety on huh? LMAO!

  • fucking A! one for the fish

  • tuff fucking luck dude

  • You're not catching me bitch!

  • its called a bill

  • took one for the team

  • Is this staged?

  • yeah its staged, they just asked the marlin nicely to jump onto the boat at the right time and fly into a guy.

  • Yeah, they get those trainers that work at Sea World to train those Marlin when to jump. If you look closely they have a protective cover over the marlin's bill and when he jumped the guy gave him a mackeral as a treat. Obviously the blood on the guy was fake.

  • was this guy killed? even if he did it's still funny!:>

  • its not fucking funny! JERK

  • Yeah, tables are turned now!!! lol

  • Sorry for the man stubbed, but it's good video in a way. All bill fish anglers should be aware of the risk in this big game fishing. This is a lesson to us...

  • They keep concentrating on the FISH? "Are you hurt?" Boy I can't believe it. Well, anglers suck anyways.

  • oh shit!!!!!!!!!!!=O

  • The hooks a bronzed hook, it disolves and is thrown in around 24 hours.

  • screw the fish help ur buddy that just got dropped!

  • all i think is it was fukkin harsh to cut the line and leave the marlin with a hook in its mouth. and ebairez so what if he is just releasing them to torment them? most conservation companies just get paid to give others so called 'green' credentials

  • It has been proven by biologists and fish experts that leaving the hook in with a piece of line attached to it if far better than trying to tear it out with pliers or to cut all the line off and just leave the hook. The hook either works its way out or just rusts away quickly on its own.

  • amad the hook falls out naturally on each fish , even if the fish swallows the hook , all fish have stomache acids that can chew threw metal. ITS A FACT

  • your an idiot. if this is the boat i think it is, it has released more billfish than any boat ever. I think the captain is ron hamlin, and the boat the captain hook. capt. hamlin wins many conservation awards every year.

  • You are truly a moron. The fish was released and this is not only fun, it's an extremely healthy way of life, a bonding activity and an excellent way to learn things about life. Kind of like what you should do before judging ; learn. idiot.

  • That sucks. Why continue backing down the boat when the fish is grey hounding like that?

  • looks like the captain hook out of Guatemala. I fished there before but on a different boat.

  • The story behind is that Mr. Longo was the one who coutgh the marlin in the begining, and after he got the release he give the rod to his friend,, he was close to his 80´s back then and a 300lb marlin on the 30 gear was to much for him , and we were trying to tag the blue when the incident happened and that makes the story very interesting, we didn´t tag em,, he tag us!

    ED!

  • This is an incident that could happen to anyone and we were lucky that the Blue finally land on the water

Sammy the mate who ducking just before the fish pass over his head and miss him just by 2 inc, he could it been kill,,,,,no lucky that Mr.Longo got stabbing by the tip of the bill hi spend 10 days in hopital and got recover,, I hope hi´s still doing OK!

    Ed.

  • ahahaha take that retards

  • fuck man....... talk about rong place @ the rong time.

  • MarlinLust/Dusty: It was the bill that hit the ribcage.

These fish are really unpredictable and no matter what you do you can not prevent something like this from happening. Notice however the black deckhand guy ducking so that he did not get hit ....

  • you dont know a thing... go foward$ and dont let the marlin reach the boat...work quickly...i have caught a few marlin$ and I know what it i$...

  • did this guy get ripped buy the hook or the bill. I am a pristine marlin fisher and that was a wierd incident. Dusty

  • use a net divwits

  • ahahha fckn touris

  • lets go Marlins!!! Marlins 1 Mans 0 HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • what? nuts
