The popular dance in 2000 or 2001 known as the Harlem shake was based on this. It is said that the young African American and Latino kids in Harlem would watch the Ethiopian Harlemites do this dance and would immitate them. do a youtube search on Harlem Shake and you will see the American version that was popular once.
