gregorian calender was initially thought up around 325 AD (i.e. AFTER the bible was written) and officially introduced (and subsequently adopted) in 1582
also note that the church too maintained the lunar calender to "calculate" the date of easter each year (see "computus")

@thisismymoniker Every generation has to earn its claim to freedom and democracy, this time the danger is not from army's or generals, this time the threat is from a backward ideology wrapped in a " religious " disguise. It's more dangerous! We have to be able to recognize these dangers for what they are; just another excuse from a bunch of idiots to strive for world domination.
Unfortunately in this process several " rights " can be stept on by the government.

No, FREEDOM MOST CERTAINLY ISN'T FREE.
We had some ridiculous "mumbai style gun attack" threat in London, Paris & Berlin recently. I wandered if it was completely made-up as propoganda to keep the public ticking over a little support for Afgan war. However, if it was real, i was thinking, you know, let these people inflict violence on my society today. The sooner they get their murderous urges out the better. The sooner politicians will be forced to deal with reality.
