Internet use to me is almost automatic (or pathological) and as such it is difficult to break the cycle. To me it's an escape and a comfort zone. Hopefully addictions such as these will be taken more seriously, or more importantly the factors behind addiction listed in this video. Some people are more prone than others.

@KillEveryoneKillPhil OMG, this is exactly the same thing with me! >_< I am on the internet almost all my waking hours and my body is used to going to bed at 3 or 4am. It's been getting steadily worse for years, carpal tunnel.

My family gets angry with me and I need to find a job. It is very frustrating, I know how you feel. I kinda scare myself with how much I love the internet, I don't really know what to do but maybe try Cognitive-behavioral therapy.... I'm not sure.

i believe like any other addiction the cause is something else, you don't spend countless hours in the computer because you like it , its be cause you need that , i had 2 patients that had horrible lives so they would hide in imaginary world, one would have been online games and the other monster cards, (one had a massive depression because he felt he wasnt good enough for his parents)
