why is it that when she marries the dragon prince that she was pretty much sold to, its "alright as long as they're in love"? But "you must have mixed feelings about this," when she marries kind and worthy cube?
Uhh...I wasn't the only person who thought Cube was a girl right...? I mean, it sort of makes sense that he *is* a guy...but I still (when I first played the game) thought he was a girl until I saw the word "Butler", then I realized he was a guy. Which makes sense I suppose. ^^;
@ZeldaNox She hasn't been promised to any rich man or the prince... Perhaps it is the morals. Do you know how low can they be before she doesn't marry?
@VoltraTheLively You'll just have to try and see - if that's not the problem, I'm all out of ideas. I think her morals have to be at least 50, or she won't get married to anyone at all.
@VoltraTheLively That's odd... I assume you also made sure she wasn't promised to that one guy who keeps coming to ask for her hand if she has high charisma, and didn't meet up with the prince much, at all? Actually, it could be her morals, now that I think about it. If they're too low, she won't marry at all, and if they're too high, it's possible she'll consider pairing with Cube a bad thing, him being a demon and all. As you can see, it was barely over 100 for my girl - fairly low.
Hey, I'm having a problem. I have Cube's relationship at 100, but if I skip to the end, my girl marries someone else! Is there a statistic I have to raise or does there have to be a confession at a certain age? Someone help me!
@VoltraTheLively The stats don't seem to make that much of a difference, in my experience. Have her go out adventuring a lot, then set camp and have Cube bring her equipment. Or let her be defeated so Cube has to rescue her. There's also the... well, sinister, really, method of building up her charisma, then letting one of the wanted bandits have their way with her if she's defeated by them. :| Cube saves her, and her affection for him skyrockets. It's all trial and error, to be honest.
I can't open the link properly; It just takes me to the websites homepage. Is there anywhere else you'd recommend I download it, or would you please update the link?
@mcassandra888 ...Seriously, how the hell can you live with such ineptness at computer-related things? :| Unzip the file you downloaded into a folder, and from that folder run the PM2.exe file. Use the PM2WINST file to set up the sound settings before running the main game, if you like.
Be warned, if you have Vista or Windows 7, you'll probably need to run it through DosBox. Read the other comments here for more info on how to set that up.
I think I eventually gave up on PM2 about a quarter of the way through. I made the mistake of signing her up for a bunch of classes right away, not realizing the tuition fee was per day, and it all just kinda went downhill from there. I may try it again eventually, just to see if I can at least manage to get one of the cute endings.
I have had the same problem in the past -- enrolling in classes too soon. Now that I am thinking about it, in the beginning, she does not really have much option as her constitution is too low. So, I would say she may have to spend her first year mostly doing farming and housework. She needs to build up her constitution as well as her cash reserve.
Make sure her stress level goes higher than her constitution, and she'll fall ill. This is very easy to do by just making her work at the farm early in the game, while her constitution is still pretty low.
I'm not sure housework boosts their relationship points at all, actually...
My method was to have her go out adventuring (and failing at it :P) a lot, so Cube will save her. That'll give them some points. Same if you have Cube bring her equipment in camp while adventuring.
Or if you're willing to use more cruel methods, have Cube save her from being raped by bandits. :| Supposedly that skyrockets their relationship points.
An easy way to get Cube without failing at adventuring is making her call Cube for equipment a lot. In the same adventure, she can camp about 9 times, make her call Cube every time, equip and unequip the same item many times (or exchange, for example, the Katana with the War God sword). It's boring but it works :D.
It's nice to do it near the demons' place, since there you can fight demons and skeletons to get a lot of money, so you can get healed by sleeping.
My daughter was a dancer & she married cube Uranus said "But race does not matter when 2 ppl are not in love" I mean that's so sweet :D it helps to have a cheat x3 & also get her sick & during the summer (or winter, fall,& spring) have her work with Cube. & to avoid her being a mistress have her not have a big bust or have her win alot in contests it creates rumors about her & which makes her to die for. Hope this helps~
Well, excuse my snarkiness, but it gets kind of tiresome being asked the same question over and over...
Besides, you didn't really tell me much about what you'd tried already. :P
Hmm, then I really don't know. Both girls I've had marry him had high sensitivity and charisma, so that may be worth a go. Or if you're willing to try a more dark and drastic path, have her be... erm... violated by one of the bandits while out adventuring.
Just unzip the downloaded file into a folder of its own, called 'Princess Maker 2' or whatever. Then you just double click the 'pm2.exe' file in that folder, and the game should start up. Sound settings are in the PM2WINST file, don't forget to check them if you want music and stuff in the game.
It runs just fine on Windows XP, no need for DosBox or anything. I'd know, I used to run it like that before upgrading my computer. :P

Because that sponsor wanted WAY too much info, and I can't even get to the page with the red bar on it to get a download. =/
Updated the download link now, to one that merely requires you to use the site's own login, then you can download the zip file. Should've done it a long time ago, but I'm a procrastinator of epic proportions. D:
Hmm...I can't seem to login, be the site on the English option or any other, really. I just get strange error codes. I can't register OR login. But I appreciate the attempt. :) Unless the site has something against windows XP, I dunno what the problem is. Thanks for the help though! xD
Are you sure you're doing it right? I've always downloaded from the French version... just click the Download Now button on the site, and in the window that pops up you click the Telecharger button. In the window that pops up after that, login with username ABANDONWARE, password PARADISE. The second you click the 'login button', you should get a dialog to download the zip file. This method worked just fine for me back when I had XP, so it should work for you too.
You are the best. I didn't know French, and I couldn't really understand how to get to the same page in English. haha, I thought you had to become a member. (which doesn't work) to download. Thank you so much, You're one of the nicer people I've met on youtube yet. xD Have a nice day!
Oh heck no, I wouldn't use it so much if you had to become a member. XD *hates signing up for things* I don't know French either, actually, but I learned how to work the site through looking at the pictures, and a bit of trial and error. :P
I had this game for a while when I had xp, but I upgraded (downgraded really) to vista. Got the itch to play PM2 again so I re-installed all the files only now I've come to realize that vista doesn't support DOS. So, I downloaded DOSbox, mounted the directory that my pm2 is in, but alas, it still gives me the same response. I was led around in a circle by google, and since you have expressed in the comments that you've got it to work on vista, I am curious to know how you did it. Please help.
Well, I can't help much unless you tell me how your current settings look. I have my PM2 folder in C:/OLDGAMES/PRINCESS. This is mounted in DosBox.conf as follows:
[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.
MOUNT C C:\OLDGAMES
C:
So now, all I have to do to play PM2 is start up DosBox, type CD PRINCESS, then PM2, and the game will start.
Yeah, I eventually got it to work shortly after I wrote that post to you. After I mounted the directory, I didn't think to actually -go- to the directory C: and once I figured that out I proceeded to smack my head against my desk.
Heh, it's always small details like that, isn't it? XD *recalls way too many times of tearing her hair out over things that were actually ridiculously easy to fix*
Oh, very cute! Did you get the ending where she marries the Father, yet?
I can't get any sound on my game, a bit sad, although I did get the DosBox. Someone said to put in the DB Config File the cycle to 5000 and the Framebitrate to 8 but I can't access that file right.
No, I haven't managed to get the Father ending yet, although I was thinking of trying for that on my next playthrough. Just gotta see if I can find out a bit about the requirements first.
As for the sound issue... Have you checked the PM2WINST program in the game folder? That's the individual utility for the game's sound settings. Open it, set to Sound Blaster, and save. Now you should be able to run the game with sound.
I did that, but I still don't get any sound. (and can't see part of the screen, but that's because my Monitor isn't wide enough XD)
Well, I'm not sure i got the ending once, but I THINK that IF your daughter gets sick YOU have to be the one to take care of her if she rests at home (which will result in you losing 100 G)
Crappy computer? :O You could also try editing the DosBox config file... opening it with Notepad should work. You may have to make a copy of it in another location, edit and then overwrite the old config with the edited one. But if that doesn't work... I don't know. Argue with it until it surrenders? ;D XD
That sounds likely, since her relationship to whoever nurses her back to health is raised during illness. It may take a bit of trial and error to figure out just what works best, though.
Oh I tried around and now I have it WITH sound AND I can see ALL the screen .. man it's hard to keep enough money .. *always cheated with Mad Eddie's XD*
Btw I read that the Dad's birthday and the girl's birthday have something to do with the chance of them getting married.
It should be alright...but otherwise, you could Google Home of the Underdogs and search for it there. Not sure if they still have it available though, since I used to link to there, but eventually was told that the link didn't work. :(
I recall when I first finished this Gorgeous game Years ago I spoiled her and she became a HouseWife She barely went to scool I was without a walkthrough at that time I liked my seconf ending better she became a General after all those time Fighting good Game.
it says "Oops-- this file is broken. Please try back later!" on the site you provided....i can't find it anywhere else. Does it work with Vista? can you just send me the file? is that possible? ^o^
I don't know whether it works with Vista, so to be sure you can run it, I suggest Googling 'DosBox' and learning how to use that. That way, you can also play other retro games if you wish. I managed to find another download link, but I'll send it to you in a private message since Youtube won't allow links in the comments.
I know it does, since I run all my old-school games in it nowadays. What I do not know is whether running the game in plain Windows, without emulation through DB, would work. That's what I meant in my previous comment.
I was far too happy the first time I got this ending :) I'd been aiming for Cube for ages, since he's just that cute, but I'd never got an interesting ending till this one - my first few girls ended up in Domestic Training, this one ended up a writer.
A good way to build Cube love without sacrificing ur daughters health or body is by camping and making Cube deliver equipment. She'll say Cube is so sweet to be going through all that trouble for her and her love for him will go up by 2. Just keep camping and repeating. Havent tried if u can marry him by getting 100 Cube love this way but it might work.
i know that.. now i know how to do it!! ^^.. i thought it was because my girl had morals... but i think thats just for the prince of darkness ending..
*nods* The morals don't need to be that high, I think... just over 30, or she won't get married, apparently. I've never tried for any of the darker endings, so I'm clueless about the requirements for those. Perhaps I should aim for one of those, next.
Also, I don't know if her stats make any sort of difference to the ending, but as you saw, my girl had high sensitivity and charisma. You might wanna try that, too, if you haven't already.
if you ever try princess of darkness ending, the easy way to raise her sin is by camping near the demon's abode thingy, so she can drink a weird liquid Lucifon will give her. She must have no morals or she'll not drink it.
I do believe your daughter's charisma needs to be over 100, or the bandits won't consider her pretty enough to violate. O_o I had the same problem, but eventually figured it out. Then I made it happen three times, just to make sure I'd get the ending I wanted. <_< I'm such a cruel parent. XP
As for other requirements, if your daughter hasn't been ill at least once, she needs to be, and you gotta have Cube take care of her. I don't think there's much else you need to do, though.
I'm a worse parent. My daughter ended up as bandit and a prostitute once. a bandit, bcz I was trying to get the princess of darkness thingy and prostitute bcz she was always running away by the end of the game and, basicly, her points didn't seem to leave out anything interesting.
I always though Cube was a girl

Not sure if it's true, though.

Should I trust the website?
krotoslol 3 years ago
It should be alright...but otherwise, you could Google Home of the Underdogs and search for it there. Not sure if they still have it available though, since I used to link to there, but eventually was told that the link didn't work. :(

it says "Oops-- this file is broken. Please try back later!" on the site you provided....i can't find it anywhere else. Does it work with Vista? can you just send me the file? is that possible? ^o^
iHeartSnoopy 3 years ago
I don't know whether it works with Vista, so to be sure you can run it, I suggest Googling 'DosBox' and learning how to use that. That way, you can also play other retro games if you wish. I managed to find another download link, but I'll send it to you in a private message since Youtube won't allow links in the comments.

DOSbox works fine with Vista.
sesshylurve 3 years ago
I know it does, since I run all my old-school games in it nowadays. What I do not know is whether running the game in plain Windows, without emulation through DB, would work. That's what I meant in my previous comment.
ZeldaNox 3 years ago
Haha, I was replying to the first comment, sorry about that.
But I'm almost positive that the game works fine in plain Windows XP or below, it's only Vista that gives an error.
sesshylurve 3 years ago
I can confirm that it works fine in XP, so no need for DosBox there.

This is my favorite ending. Cube is just so adorable! <3

Nice work. I haven't tried to get that ending yet.

i know that.. now i know how to do it!! ^^.. i thought it was because my girl had morals... but i think thats just for the prince of darkness ending..
Wolfina2 4 years ago
*nods* The morals don't need to be that high, I think... just over 30, or she won't get married, apparently. I've never tried for any of the darker endings, so I'm clueless about the requirements for those. Perhaps I should aim for one of those, next.
Also, I don't know if her stats make any sort of difference to the ending, but as you saw, my girl had high sensitivity and charisma. You might wanna try that, too, if you haven't already.
ZeldaNox 4 years ago
if you ever try princess of darkness ending, the easy way to raise her sin is by camping near the demon's abode thingy, so she can drink a weird liquid Lucifon will give her. She must have no morals or she'll not drink it.

I love cube, he's so cute ^^ Especially when you say you want to marry him, he's so shocked!
And he sticks out his tongue when smiling wide xD
Btw how did you get to marry him? i've been having problems.. i've been doing everything but the bandits don't.. you know.. to my girl..
Wolfina2 4 years ago
Hee, I know. ^^
ZeldaNox 4 years ago
I'm a worse parent. My daughter ended up as bandit and a prostitute once. a bandit, bcz I was trying to get the princess of darkness thingy and prostitute bcz she was always running away by the end of the game and, basicly, her points didn't seem to leave out anything interesting.
