I remember reading one where he stated that he liked the first couple of Sex Pistols singles, but they didn't influence the kind of music he wanted to make. Mentioning bands that were active & touring is completely different than talking about the inspiration for them starting the band & the music they wrote.

This song was originally written and recorded by Redd Kross when they were still "Red Cross", and Greg Hetson was in the band. It appears on their first e.p. "Red Cross", under the song title "Cover Band". Once the Circle Jerks got going the song evolved into this version. Both versions kick fucking ass.

This song was originally written and recorded by Redd Kross when they were still "Red Cross", and Greg Hetson was in the band. It appears on their first e.p. "Red Cross", under the song title "Cover Band". Once the Circle Jerks got going the song evolved into this version. Both versions kick fucking ass.

This is when everybody wanted to be a punk rock. By 1981 sept punk hit the main stream and alot of the guy's I knew started to switch over to speed metal. I was at the last Germ gig at the Starwood in Hollywood when Darby died that week. You can hear my brother on the white record when it was record there.
