1. Those definitely were not traffic enforcement vehicles.  Anything other than a sedan can not pursue, so it wouldn't make sense to have an SUV as a traffic unmarked.

2. Radar would not have picked up that far away.

@12kooko12 I say again, from experience, RCMP vehicles can not pursue unless they are the sedan style vehicle, whether the vic, charger or impala. There is no such thing as pursuit-rated tahoes, or suburbans or anything other than the sedan. Besides, the trucks are all governed out at 160 kmh, so wouldn't make much sense to pursue.

It's all a matter of where you are. For instance, I live in Knoxville TN, in the city, and surrounding areas a Radar detector will PROBABLY save you. Only because the cop will probably be using radar on cars ahead of you, which will give you sometime to slow down.

Now, on the other hand. If you live or travel to Nashville I-40 through Crossville is a two lane open road. Where you won't have any chance, and when you do realize it then its too late. So it depends on where you live.

1. Bad idea exposing license plates of police vehicles. However, it's very unlikely that anyone would remember when they saw it anyway. Not to mention you probably won't see that vehicles again. 2. 85 is quite ridiculous because people can't do 60 without causing pileups. Most people do 85 anyway. A higher speed limit would result in more collisions, which results in more traffic enforcement. 3. Buy a radar detector if you want people. Most cops can still catch you.

you realize that those aren't actually traffic enforcement vehicles and you appear to be in edmonton. second, i doubt radar was on board and you were likely picking up a false positve from the strobes on the vehicles. nice effort though. probably exposed either dog section vehicles or possibly tactical unit vehicles. glad to see you got tired of this and haven't posted any more of this crap.

#1 people with radar detectors are actually people who know in their minds that 85 shouldn't be considered reckless driving on most highways when conditions permit, and so they can get where they are going a little faster.

#2 Maybe he wanted to show that there are undercover police on the freeways to the public, not like it's a crime to write license plate numbers down... Nor is it illegal to have a radar detector, and he doesn't deserve a cent in fines.

@sicksonethree Most accidents are from driver inattention and at intersections. Police should concentrate on careless drivers. I would hardly call someone driving 19KM (12MPH) over limit "dangerous" but then that's not as easy as sitting at the side of the road flagging people down nor does it make the city as much money. And I'm sure it was only a coincidence that "speed enforcement" went up only after municipalities where told they could keep the revenue from tickets.

Um what? Do you think people are just going to go around looking for an undercover police SUV just to injure the officer inside? Ummmmm you do realize that people might know that doing this, would result in umteen amounts of jailtime and other police power abuses when they catch you, such as being beaten to a pulp by about 10 officers while your in hand cuffs. How would the officer get hurt you fucking idiot? You need PI license to even get info on people based on their plates, and even they don't have authorization to review POLICE vehicle plates. You should realize that no one can do shit to the officer other than recognize his vehicle if they see it in real life

second your detector didn't save you it was the van ahead of you that saved you by getting caught
