@majorglenn Okay I did a little research as you proposed.
Audi never made this engine. Volvo had Porsche (Not audi) involved in the intake and exhaust tuning for the original 850 GLT with VVIS but Audi 5-cyl has nothing to do with Volvo 5-cyl in any way!
But I guess you're just an ignorant Audi fanboy thinking that when Vw Group bought Porsche your Audi turned into one.
Volvo designed and produces the Focus RS engine in Sweden whether you believe it or not
I hope there's a drivetrain conversion in this because 438HP is way too much horsepower for FWD. A stock RS500 is pushing its limits with its torque steer as it was.
@Nakke144 I personally think Ford should have used a 2.0l turbo in the MK2 to save on weight as they are very heavy cars. I think a nice YB lump would have done the job nicely :)
@53vrs YB is an old 80's engine and well outdated, it wouldnt even come near the emmissions std required and at this power level reliability would be a major issue..
@53vrs bullshit! The Ford engine is the Volvo S60R (B5254T) engine. This is an development of the old 850R/T5R engine (B5234T5). And this engine is the 5 cyl. sister to the 6 cyl. engine of the Volvo (B6304F & B6254F) and the 4cyl. (B4204T). The 6Cyl. engine was developed by Porsche in Weissach in the early 90ies. Volvo finished themself.
The D5252T Dieselengine of Volvo 850 and S70/V70 was from Audi and the old D24TIC Diesel from the 700/900 was from the VW LT28 Transporter.
By the way gentleman...
The 5-cylinder engine comes from AUDI for VOLVO. And FORD got it from VOLVO. OK ?
Before drop down some comments do some better research.
Thx and greets from switzerland.

Why can't people just comprehend that it is a really good car.
Every little fanboy out there must always remark that "my bmw/audi/mercedes is better", who cares about your daddy's car?

@mannen782 It can't be a good car, it's FWD.
