  • AMAZING! I love twin peaks! This is so beautiful! It makes we want to learn how to play the guitar, but I have no musical talent whatsoever!!! lol.

  • beatiful

  • thank you man for your fantastic tabs, I love learning fingerstyle guitar but it sometimes is hard to track down some nice songs to learn that are not rediculously fast up tempo.

  • very nice!!!!

  • Simply amazing dude. Great job!

  • This is just great. I love how long we have to wait before the "dark forrest part" resolves into the Laura palmer theme. And then the buildup to the climax is just as spectacular as it ever is. Beautiful.

  • Dale cooper once said ''don't plan it, but treat yourself once a day'', today, it is this video... brilliantly played my friend, i don't think there will ever be a day anyone can top a tv series like twin peaks, beautiful song

  • Brilliant, really brilliant.

  • Fantastic!

  • Awesome! Awesomeness in pictures and sound! Congrats mate!

  • Breathtaking performance!

This is exactly what Angelo Badalamenti himself calls "tragically beautiful".

    Thanks for sharing!

  • You look a bit like Hank.

  • love it! BRAVO!

  • pssst! ..... I know who killed Laura Palmer

    .... but I'm not telling.

  • this is just gorgeous, thx for posting it

  • so good !!!

  • I love this "song" sound... AAARGH. hauntingly beautiful.

  • Reminds me of a tool song the intro... good playing i must say..well done!

  • General comment, this beautifull song bring and reminds me of many years ago that i played this song on my own harp whit the cd on.

  • So this is not a standard guitar with drop tuning? Is the guitar actually called a Baritone guitar? man... I'm learning something everyday... been in the rock world far too long. what's the main difference? the nut i imagine

  • @andijoseph

The scale/neck is longer and the strings are much thicker, usually around 014-068 and the most common tuning is A D G C E A.

  • Olav, Berserker!

    Very amazingly done!

  • Beautifully played.

  • Incredible!

  • flawless

  • really great man, its a haunting song. What lies in the forest of twin peaks?

  • @gusmanone

That question has haunted me ever since I first saw Twin Peaks.

  • The lodges...The white lodge, and the Black one.

  • great!

  • Martin, I just had a auto wreck that ended in the fusion of my right wrist and never bothered working on the right had much. Now I am able to feel where I am and use (forced) the r/hand four fingers because I want to love the guitar as much as it is obvious you do. I've learned to connect and be part of my guitar and no one but you has ever been able to teach me that. Your an amazing talent and your spirit really shines through what you play and how you play it.

Thanks man. I almost lost hope

  • stunning. i didn't think any of these songs were possible to interpret in a good way on a guitar, but you proved me wrong. cheers.

  • f°°°°°°°°° awesome!!!!!!!

the sound ofthis guitar makes it so even better!

  • awesome

  • SO GOOD

  • Thats so beautiful, gave me goosebumps =)

  • What Mic is that?

  • Hi, a Rode NT2-A condenser

  • omg! you play it perfectly!

  • I love this! You did a really beautiful job on it!

  • This... is even better than the original one. That guitar sounds better for me, not too 'high' like the piano, creating a more poetic, dreamy composition. Awesome!

  • ...meraviglioso....bravo

  • POETIC

  • It soothes me, and brings a tear to my eye. Thank you Martin.

    Ed

  • Hey, pinofluvius, YOU ROCK, MAN! Nice arrangement!!

  • So clean! Absolutely brilliant

  • Damn! This made me cry!

  • Joy, joy, joy

  • Nice arrangement I love Twin Peaks.

  • Forte forte!

  • I love this!

  • Martin ... beautiful and touching and played with such feeling and emotion. Just incredible.

  • awesome!!!

  • wow....i love this. I am learning this song now on keyboard. I have never heard this played on a guitar. One of my next goals in life is to learn this. Thanks for giving me another reason to live....

  • you made me cry ilove this tune its sooo sad

  • Flawless and lyrical. Subtle and effective dynamics. You are an inspiration.

  • Great... you're fantastic.....

  • Tummen upp!!!

  • excellent

  • good

  • siiiiiiiiiick

  • amazing!!!

  • This is so beautiful. Thanks for putting this up.

  • martin, thank yu for the tablature to this piece, is the tuning b,e,a,d,f#,b ? it's not indicated on the tabs...

bravo, for this arrangement, perfect for baritone guitar....

    douglas

  • hyperbole aside, I applaud all of these artists who have complimented your piece, as if it was a religious experience, because it is....

    incroyable!!

    douglas

  • i'm speachless. you're a great artist.

  • Your playing is breathtaking, and your fluidity is just astonishing. Your music inspires me to go and pick up my own guitar and learn your songs, but I will never be able to play them as beautifully as you.

  • Nothing short of spectacular with this acoustic cover for the hauntingly sad Laura Palmer's theme. Kudos!!

  • Maybe the most beautiful guitar piece I've heard! +++++

  • Thank you. Enjoyed that. 5 *****

  • sweeping . . . a bouquet of lyricism on the chest of a deep dirge . . . bravo!

  • nice man! really nice performance for the best series ever...

  • I would like to know more about this guitar, can anybody tell me what brand this baritone is? I Love the rich and deep sound!!!

  • Loef

  • Well done, goddamit!

  • Awesome

  • Really beautiful stuff... I'm surprised because I'm normally not into this type of music, but i'm very pleased with your work! Excellent :) Keep it up.

  • Those were damn fine 4 minutes of music! Thank you for that.

  • teriffic

  • This is absolutely gorgeos. I'd like to collaborate with you in the future.

  • this is so dark...the black 'n' white colors it even more!!

  • synd att man inte kan ge sex stjärnor. youtube gitarrsnuttar är sällan något att klappa för men det här är suveränt! ladda gärna upp mer om du har!

  • worth a comment, good thankyou

  • Both the LOVE THEME and the TWIN PEAKS THEME are just absolutely stunning arrangements. I'm not a guitar player, but I am a musician...is raising the climax (chorus) an octave extraordinarily difficult technically? Because I feel like the emotional resolution loses a little bit at the lower octave. But please don't get me wrong--this is just beautiful and played masterfully.

  • Hi and thanks!

I first tried to arrange it up an octave but without a cut-away (on the guitar) it´s very difficult to reach so high and to get a nice melody flow. Furthermore, it would be difficult also to get the second bass note of the chorus in (for the VI minor chord). But, then again, anything´s possible (almost)!

However, not sure it would be worth the struggle :)

  • Face melting!

  • I swear I just saw Bob crouching behind a chair

  • Sweeeeet !

  • when I close my eyes I can 'see' that something is hiding behind every single tune... some part of your soul is connected with that beautiful guitar and is giving me some kind of "feelings" that is the voice of Laura trying to tell us something (even scream sometimes)

magnificently - I wish I could shake your hand :)

  • Good job man sounds so good

how much did that guitar cost you

  • marvelous

  • Wow. That's incredibly beautiful. Kinda makes me wanna learn playing fingerstyle. Truly inspiring.

  • I love this Martin... deep, rich, and beautiful sound!

  • Is that a Martin? It doesn't have Martin's headstock and inside the info it says Loef guitars.

  • I meant Martin Tallstrom... the guitarist...

  • Oh, my bad :)

  • :o))

The guitar is a Loef Baritone "Twin Peaks model"

and the Guitarplayer is a Martin "master model"

  • his name is Martin

  • that is great, really good job man

  • Oh! So beautiful!! :)

  • played with such feeling - just perfect..........

  • Awesome, great work!

  • I hope you dont mind Martin but iv just posted a cover of this amazing song..... i thought the only difference would be that i didnt have a keyboard playing behind mine... i realise now its your genius hands and sense of timing i lack most lol feel free to check it out anyways you are the most inspiring player iv seen on utube.

  • Beautiful and sublime, at least 80% of the magic in Twin Peaks is in the music. Anyway, I've been trying to play this song by ear on the piano and I've been succeeding somewhat okay I guess, I got the melody down, and the opening chord is just droning on a C minor as far as I understand. Before the climax, which chords are played beneath the melody? in the climax I switch to C major, A minor and then F major, which sounds really good. But I would appreciate any help with the chords in the bridge

  • Thanks!

I guess the opening chord is like you say C minor (no 5th?) with the melody played over it. Then a quick C major before E major, then F minor leading to the climax (chorus) which is like you wrote. And it´s the actual melody over the chords that creates those cool voicings...

  • Cheers mate, that makes sense. Haven't really got the melody all sussed out, but it's almost there. It's not climbing all the way right? It seems as though it drops back, and then goes up again to the climax.

  • On the original version it is climbing all the way, the chorus melody is really an octave higher than I play it. It was just too darn high for the guitar :) so I lowered it...

  • Genial intentare tocarla , Badalamenti en un video explica el genial proceso de este tema . que como que el climax da un toque de esperanza . eso me pone de pelos .bueno en mi caso

  • awesome! what kind of amp do u use!? thank you

  • Thanks, no amp used here, it is acoustically recorded with a Rode NT2-A into the computer.

  • Sometimes it's too hard to explain how you exactly feel listening to one or another melody, watching a movie...

This music is beyond ordinary, it tells a story.

  • I know what you mean, this piece by Badalamenti (and Lynch) is really epic. There is a video where Angelo tells how he with David at his side came up with the structure/ harmonies which is really intresting. See "Related Videos "

  • haunting yet lovley

perhaps only to me because "twin peaks" left me feling exatly that way

    ThankYOU for shairng

YOU are very good .. keep it up !!!

  • Thank you very much for your kind comments!

    Take care

    Martin

  • what the hell! That sounds so damn fantastic, perfect man. Its nice to hear these, now i want to try these with my acoustic guitar!

  • I gotta ask one thing before i try to learn this with my acoustic: How i should play this because i dont have that capo thing, it almost sounds the same when i play that intro with your tab.

  • Hi and thanks!

If you play it on a standard guitar you don´t need the capo. I used one on the baritone to get in the key of C - like the original.

  • Ok, thanks!
