@MelanieJuly16 It's not an expansion pack. It's a new game, and it's laptop friendly. There is a "story mode" and a "free play" mode. The story mode is like the pre-made families, and the free play is like your own story.

But at first I thought it was an expansion, but eventually I was watching the trailers and soon enough, I realized it wasn't.

I don't have this game yet, but it seems like fun considering that the sims 2 is glitching up....

I luved the sims original double deluxe which was the true first game + 2 expansion packs. that was the game who started it all. and everything is still the same except a few updates and the more advanced aging experience. only being able to raise a baby in 3 days to become a small child and no older sux.

Stories are kinda boring,I had Castaway Stories and after I finished it(It was my first sims game)I still played Wanmami Island(Like the Classic mode in life stories).Then I founds The Sims 2 on the shelf of the store and decided to buy it and then deleted Castaway Stories the other day..so yeap it gets boring after completing the short..boring..stories

yea...the sims its just unlimited and you do whatever. in lifestories you fufill goals to finsih their lives you know, there are special actions...people do things they wouldn't normally do to play out a story. Its really fun!

well you can cheat or not cheat. You can try naturally and usally if your not pregnant aftter like 3 trys ur having twins. There is also a way to force twins, but i forogt. :)

shift+click on the newspaper

(note: you have to have a job first)

the game is different by the wish things. You know how you can have a few goals to fulfill just in normal sims 2, and they renew when you have completed them or they get old? Well in this one, it is SET goals so you follow them and it is actually like a story. There are some pre made and pre recorded moments in it that make the story better :P it's really fun

Half of the original content (such as Fears) are completely cut out...

You can only have 4 instead of 8 sims max in a household. it's not really that great.

@mastermatt1O bc. this u have limmits to what u can do. only four peopl ein a family. one city with very limmited space, if u play the stories, (vince and riley) you follow what it says. in free play you can do regular sims but not as much to it. believe me if you bought it you would want to return it. i like it bc thats the only one i can play right now on my laptop but when i get my new laptop my sims3 is the first to go on. and idk if its like this 4 every1 but mine doesnt go full screen.

Life Stories is a resricted version of Sims 2 (so to speak) For example, You can only build 2 floors on a house as opposed to Sims 2, in which you can build 4.

Story mode is not found in S2.

The S2 Expansion Packs (i.e. Pets) don't work with LS unless they say 'Life Stories' on the package.

So, if you want to buy one, S2 is more expensive, but has more value.

LS is optimized for laptop use, but I advise getting S2 if your computer can handle it.
