@dieselsmoker20 Yes, this is a hideous slab of a thing, but Ford has produced some fairly good looking cars over the years. The original Mustang was nice, the GT40 was fantastic as was the 'new' GT, the '05 Mustang was lovely, the original Cortina, the last Focus RS, the Escort Cosworth, the Capri, the new Fiesta. Even the latest Mondeo is a fairly pretty beast. I'm not saying they're all brilliant but Ford has had some aesthetic success.

You abuse them alot compared to cars and trucks of similar vintage, but a newer vehicle will probably be stronger in the long run, hence, buy a brand new Defender!

My 1972 series III has pulled 3.5 ton trucks up icy hills, It's dragged a 55 ton Cheftain tank, only 100 yards or so but it did it. I've driven a Raptor, there was this Ford experience day just before christmas, I had a trip round an army tank track, the sort of thing they test their Landies on too, and it struggled to grip on the looser rocks and sand, even with the massive tyres. It was impressively soft when landing after jumps but that's all in the shocks & springs, which aren't even Ford parts. I honestly don't believe you about that Rangie.

It's an endearing term for a car that has a huge following, they have more character in one wheel nut than any other car, ever. It's the same as shortening Chevrolet to Chevy. Range Rovers are actually epic, there's a video on YouTube of a stock Rangie, on a MotoX track doing lap after lap, I think it's 50 laps, and nothing breaks. There's nothing wrong with them.
