It's nearly 4 years later & the aftermath of this storm is still evident all around us. The trees were trimmed from power lines and so have very odd shapes. Now the leaves are once again off the trees; it is very evident. We live in Republic & I worked in Springfield at the time. We were without power for about 11 days and many were without power for 2 weeks or more. "Terrorist Attack" may be too strong, but it is difficult to find one that truly expresses what it was like. Great footage!

not trying to be a tinfoil hat armchair sientist here but theres something called HAARP(look it up on youtube) that can minupulate the weather through devices that pump millions of wats of power into the magnetisfere
actually, i have done lots of reading up on that already, and scalar interferometry and EM weaponry, but I dont tell people anymore because they look at me funny. its pretty freakin creepy though. good to know i'm not the only one interested in such things.
i saw something the other day about how the hurricanes we had in the last 4 or 5 years may have been created or influenced by these tools, because several hurricanes have followed nearly identical paths, which has never been observed b4
cool, did you know HAARP can also cause earthquakes to. they can feed magnetic pulses into the faultlines and creat them. they can also make volcanos erupt with it. iv done alota research on it. i also like reading about astroids that are on a colision corse with earth. did you know that an astroid named TU24, an astroid the size of sears tower came so close to hitting us that it had a 50/50 chance of inpacting and if it did hit it could have killed millions!
dude. that was a terrorist attack. my roommates and i lost power for 3 and half weeks. and two trees fell on my car, ending it's life. man, the memories. you have to love missouri.
UH -- that's because you didnt live through it and I did. Sleep in a zero degree house for 14 days with the fear of a tree limb (not twig or branch, mind you )that could come blasting thru your roof at any second, and you'll know the terror. Live power lines zapping in the streets. They had to re wire the entire city. It took til June to clean it all up and its still a mess 1 yr later. We were bombed by nature
allso why are most power lines in the front of the house and not undergound where you can protect them this is where the uk has plans of majour disaster or in time of war that why if its underground no one can get to it or be broken even if the ground is frozen above not a feet meters down it isnt
im glad that we dont get this sort of weather but i no that all i need to do is rip out the gas fire and chop some wood chop up some old wood aka dry and make the flu is clear and becarefull not to have a big fire well situation sorted all frozen stuff out side :)
you were luck then , i thought i was lucky in rogersville we lost power on sunday morning and got it back on thursday afternoon. dad stayed up at night manning the generators ad i spent the days on generator duty and trying to find gas
I was one of the lucky ones who only lost power for about thirty hours but thanks to my generator I still had power. One of the good things was that my cable didn't go out, so I fired up my generator and connected my microwave, my t.v., and my lamp and I watched the New England, San Diego playoff game.
My power was out for 16 days, but I made it.

If this is a terrorist attack, it's from Mother Nature. Sometimes she can be oh so nice, but other times she can be so mean.
We had one big ice storm in Quebec from January 5 to January 9, 1998. I remember too all the poor wounded trees, you could almost hear them cry...

this is no comparison to the horror of a terrorist attack.

I live in Springfield, MO. (I actually lived almost in Willard at the time..) It's a natural disaster, not a terrorist attack.

actually, according to the patriot act, mother nature would be defined a terrorist.
