He's not that good he has a good attack and block but that's not every thing you need in volleyball. You need a good pass,reception and lots of things. He's a good player.

what i saying his he not well rounded at all. he has an absolutely incredible vertical leap, but again, the rest of his game is weak. watch when he makes contact when he swings. its poor. his vertical makes up for poor technique, so yea, if you want to say hes a great athlete, i agree, but a great volleyball player? im sorry but hes not.

not to diss or anything... just a simple question out of curiosity in bball why is it so important to have a big vertical??? In vball it is obvious but I don't get why in basket ball, i mean wouldn't it be better to have someone score every shot? Not every basket ball player has a big vertical but almost every volleyball player does so. Again not to argue or anything just wanna know! =)

its not just the jumping high or reaching a high point that is vital in vball but quickness is key as it is in basketball. Marshall is very quick with a quick armswing, technique is very important and is why shorter people without a great vertical can be good vball players.

I remember seeing this guy play in Cuba, very explosive! I am glad he defected and got to play in the big leagues. Too bad there is not a lot of footage from his games, all videos about him show pretty much the same plays. Had I known he would become (sort of) famous I would have taped all the games he played in his early days in Havana. Anyways, those leaps are as impressive as ever, but watching him play from a few meters was just great.
