  • This band speaks the truth.

  • where is the fireside ive seen videos of the locust and atdi playing here too

  • This is Alkaline Trio at their best...now not so much.

  • @buryaflower Agreed but no matter how bad it gets im a proud supporter

  • why arent there any good bands like this now a days?

  • @razorramon310 Check out Escape The Fire Say Say Say......pretty damn good

  • I just came.

  • this is the worst quality but it make you feel like youre there and i loovvve it

  • @Phishman77 what do you expect? this is from like 80 years ago. they didn't have good sound quality on video cameras back then. especially shitty camcorders like that. i don't care how shitty it is. its just awesome to see them so young. shut your jaw.

  • saw these guys so many times at the fireside bowl back in the day. good good times

  • Vintage Trio...Look how far they have come..Good job boys

  • I was there. :-)

  • this makes me want to move to chicago....but like in the past

  • Chu nky, that doesn't really look like Glen...maybe that's Mike Felumlee?

  • horrible sound quality

  • need a close up of Dan and his hair

  • how old is this

  • Who was there drummer here?

  • @xGibsonx Glen Porter

  • i miss old trio not the product of the music machine that they are today

  • @Ferrignohh

How are they a "product of the music machine"? I'm sorry Alkaline Trio has earned a lot of publicity and success, but that doesn't take away from the genuinely fantastic music they make.

  • id probably kill someone to be able to go to this show....

    im kidding....

i would definitely kill someone to be able to go to this show....

it's a shame these kind of opportunities never seem to present themselves.

  • i just learned how to play this, its a dam good fun bamf song

  • I'm cumming right now

  • Damn, look at all that hair on Dan! :P

  • aww look how young skiba looks<3

  • new Trio is ok but i miss this sound

  • @RussieSkies You lose that raw sound more often than not when you get better gear. This was basically a guitar straight into the amp, now he's got a nice sized amp/rack setup going.

  • amazing.

  • I kinda like it when hardly anybody knows about a good band.

    Less posers that way.

  • grandi !!!

  • dude i think all alkaline trio's stuff is great! i hate how no one at my school knows who alkaline trio is

  • It's better that way... so much better no one at your stupid school knows who they are.

  • I loved how no one at my school knew about them except me and a couple friends.

  • dan with hair. epic

  • So fucking amazing.

  • Thanks for posting this. Missed that sound, missed that song. Miss those days...

  • One of the defining songs of my youth :)

  • damn this rocks. thank you.

  • man i was in the crowd for this show, it was truly amazing

  • what year was this?

  • that must of been amazing. :)

  • I wish this band was still good, Ive been listening to S/T almost every day recently because i lost my ipod and its the only tape i have that plays in my car, but god were those last two albums awful, seriously, god awful.

  • well I like new stuff as well as old stuff, but its two different bands to me as well

  • That was fucking amazing in every respect.

  • this is so old DAN HAS HAIR!!! and i think it was recorded on vhs

  • !!!! this excites me!!!

  • damn this is old lol. mad good thoe.. i saw them last night

  • I don't think I've ever stumbled upon another band as genuine as Alkaline Trio since the day I found them.

  • totally agree

  • @DangerStepp That'swhat I feel. This is the only band I still love in all their albums.

  • @DangerStepp love them so much ftw

  • @DangerStepp Jawbreaker.

  • @DangerStepp Jawbreaker.

  • Damn, Matt Sbika was born to make music, thats for sure.

  • Skiba*

  • What year is this from?

I would love to see more videos like this. Much thanks for this one!

  • check out their website, you can see all these videos. Plus I downloaded a bunch of live shows to my pod! alkalinetrio org

  • This could easily be voted as their best show ever, wish I could have been there.

  • right on the corner of fullerton and california

  • fireside it is sir.

  • is this at fireside?

  • Appreciation is a good thing. I knew skiba in high school. We were friends. I shit on all of my friends, now they are gone. I still see him from time to time but its different now. Don't be an Asshole you might get what you think you want and be alone.

  • There more energy in that tiny little place than they have at the massive venues they play now...

  • OMG! i love Alkaline trio, can i stay with some one in the us so i cna se them? :o

  • get a green card first

  • Wow. One of my favourite songs ever. I wish I was old enough to see them play sweatboxes like this when they were.

  • most likely the best show ever. i only i wasn't like 3 when it happened

  • Awesome x 1000000!!! What year was this? I bet i was a wee lad when they did this performance!

  • And RIP Glen, best ALK3 drummer

  • Man, this makes me feel old as shit, I remember the show, it snowing like a bastard.... RIP Fireside :( and RIP Danny's hair

  • o my god. im speechless

  • yeah...they came to austin recently...opened with calling all skeletons (which was predictable) but continued oldies back to back before taking a break...

ive been into alkaline trio since i was in 6th grade (graduated now) and that show was really intense...and crazy. you can tell a lot of old school fans were rulin that pit...

    it was a FUCKING show!!!

  • from here to the infirmary was the last decent album. honestly theyre shit blows now. crowd-pleasing bull shit for the kids. these songs. are timeless. you can forget the new shit after you listen to it admit it.

  • Yeah there oldies are classics, i just went to one of there shows last night and its actually the older songs that are the crowd pleasing ones. When they would play songs from there older albums the crowd would go nuts. They still put on a hell of a show.

  • i stopped listening after good mourning. Crimson was OK. The newest one makes me sad. Alkaline was one of my favorite bands ever. this song is kick ass.

  • :O FAKE! DAN WITH HAIR! XD

  • sawgaw... you are a fucking idiot... bands evolve... they adjusted their lyrical content because their lifestyles changed... when a band gets on the scene, and they have a sound that people like... they either continue to produce that exact sound until people get tired of it, or they reinvent themselves... stop being a closedminded fuck

  • Glad to know not all Trio fans are like that. Good call.

  • ahhh fireside bowl, allister, the tossers and the great alkaline trio :'( rip!

  • they were good then and their STILL good now

  • i miss the old trio so much. all of their new shit is just terrible.

  • I agree, i miss the old Alkaline Trio, ALOT - you cant beat songs like Bleeder, Nose Over Tail, GoodBye Forever etc...

BUT, they still have something about them now, just nothing compared to the old stuff.

    Still a great band though.

  • any alkaline trio after 2002 is awful. this song is great.. amazing how sobriety made his songs worse and too cheezy...i guess I see them more like folk artists than "punk" idols, lyrical content has been so bad since 2003.

  • theyre still amazing!

  • Ive only seem them once which was in 2000 with blink and nfg , looking forward to this summer tho

  • this has gotta be at least 10 years old. it probably is about 10 years old.

  • vhs!

    so classic haha

  • funny how alot of bands sucked when they first start out, but the Trio have always been spot on... just amazing.

  • no, whats even rarer is when bands start off good & keep going good!

  • which isn't the case with ALK3. I can only listen to a few songs that came out after Godddamnit

  • nah, i think that they continued going good (although their music has changed alot)

  • this is historical

  • sick!

    :D

  • Daaaamn...I've seen them a few times at the metro and warped but....when/where the hell was this? they look so young!

  • The fireside bowl in chicago. No longer around but was where many a punk in the chi spent their formative years.

  • really wish i was at this show

  • whoa Dan had hair once?

  • weird isnt it?

  • This was my first A3 show! Damn this video takes me back...This was the record release show for "Maybe I'll Catch Fire" in February 2000

  • yea, man...sorry. This was about '97 or so. This was right after the "Alkaline Trio" album came out. Nice try though.

  • Yea I don't think so...I was at the show...Mike Felumlee is the drummer on this tape and he was there from late 99 to 2001...and the self titled album came out in 2000...Jackass

  • yeah mike felumlee wasnt the drummer in 97. this was totally the 2000 show at the fireside. i should know, mikes my boyfriend. hahaha. corey shaw dont know shit

  • i thought this was the goddammit album release show. but im probobly wrong.

  • Wow, amazing. Any idea on what year this was? Thanks a ton for uploading!

  • gotta love them. gotta love fireside too.
