There was a generation gap. The working population of hungary payd the ir pension contribution to the private sector, and the goverment couldn't finance the pension of the older generations, becouse they became so indebted...

It is a problem everywhere and the Hungarian pension system was not solely private but only one-third went into any investment by private pension system, one third went to the regular governmental pension base (which immediately went out to pay the pensions) and another third was also going to private pension investors but they had to invest into Hungarian governmental bonds which coudl easily spent into pension if they wished so.

Of course one can seize this private investment and spend it quickly but that won't solve the age gap which exist everywhere, it just pushes the governmental pension to collapse a few years later.

@radurambo Gyurcsany was the Communist Party Youth Secretary (KISZ) before he found out that he's really a "socialist". Thurmer said at Kadar's funeral that the one thing he's ashamed of is that they raised Gyurcsany.
Aside of that, the former communists own all the multi-million dollar (formerly state owned) factories, oil-refineries, forests, etc. They just don't seem "to know" Thurmer anymore.

By now 90% of the TV channels are driven by them. Also most of the radio stations and newspapers. He just raised the taxes again! Hungarians will pay 56-57% of their gross sallary to the government!!!! He also hurt some basic human rights and he showed the finger to the EU 2011 Christmas.

@KarasuKafka about the private pension money.... Hungary became so indebted lately, we didn't have the resources to carry out the changes required to adopt the private pension system. There was a generation gap. The working population of hungary payd the ir pension contribution to the private sector, and the goverment couldn't finance the pension of the older generations, becouse they became so indebted...

It is a problem everywhere and the Hungarian pension system was not solely private but only one-third went into any investment by private pension system, one third went to the regular governmental pension base (which immediately went out to pay the pensions) and another third was also going to private pension investors but they had to invest into Hungarian governmental bonds which coudl easily spent into pension if they wished so.

Of course one can seize this private investment and spend it quickly but that won't solve the age gap which exist everywhere, it just pushes the governmental pension to collapse a few years later.

I do not know the details of the Hungarian media law however, I have spoken with some Hungarian Journalists who, have told me it is similar to the system of your former leader , Janos Kadar ! Perhaps all journalists do not like any form of control of their activities, no matter how benign they may be. I do not approve of Gov`t control of the media. It doesn't work.

Last year there was a call against in this media law. Many peoples wan't to come up Budapest to show they antisympathy to this law before it was accepted. The Buses, which carry the most of the peoples to this ,,jembory" was turned back by the order of the police. The turn back was'n even mentioned in the news. This only a small thing.

To understand the Hungarian Media, you have to know that it is in ex-Communist and Liberal hands. "Freedom of speech" means that they are free to spout their anti-Hungarian message.
