adam jones from tool is the best guitar player ever. period. these are good exampls of speed and guitar skill, but jones is a fucking god when it comes to being a musician. his solos make words in your head, so to speak, and always fit the message of the song. the rest of these people are just "jamming". a true musician makes the guitar sing.

Man, Adam Jones isn't an amazing guitarist, he doesn't even want to be, what he's great at is composing. most of the lyrics are written by maynard but the actual music(bass, guitar, drums)are almost always written by jones.
