  • Thanks for posting this... I was on base from late 2003 - early 2006. The contractors who refurbished the palace (Al hamra) were out of Kuwait and did work for our company. We used to meet in the palace before it was finished and became the command center... I have pictures of the side blown out and the bunker buster that his Sadaam's room.

  • I worked there in 05. During my deployment there. I can't tell you what cell I worked in because of security reasons... but I had access to information .

The Palace was beautiful . And at night it was illuminated. Very beautiful.

  • i been there, cool

  • I slept in that place several years ago, it sure has changed. Did they rebuild the bombed out area.

  • yeah dear.. some of houses and palaces were never used or visited by him. he built them for personal security reason.

  • thats where saddam lived in same time were iraqi ppl suffer and starving under the sanctions. He built many palaces in 90s while ppl couldnt eat

  • My husband will be at this palace soon. I read that Saddam spent no more than 7 or 8 days in this one. It was just another palace that he didn't even need.
