It may be more difficult to provide, but it entail the benefit of cooperation on a multitude of levels e.g. in relation to community based development of harbours, distribution channels or marketing concepts. thorupstrand kystfiskerlaug is a Danish example on this

    Catch shares are just a platform upon which unique programs are designed to meet the needs of the communities they serve. They can - and have been - designed poorly but overall have shown greater success worldwide than other fishery management systems.

  • Not sure the connection with EU managing a resource using a political tool, the CPP The only way to manage the North Sea is to have a North Sea Management plan.

    The reality is the Scottish fleet is only a fraction what it was. Plus Days at Sea, Track Record, Quota Trading, Closed Areas. It is only about 10% since the 1980's
